Precautions
To disconnect AC power, grasp the plug itself,
not the cord.
Since a strong magnet is used for the speaker,
keep credit cards using magnetic coding or
spring-wound watches, CRT-based TVs, or
projectors, etc., away from the unit to prevent

Do not leave the unit in a location near a heat

Power source
Auto power off
After playback of the iPod (or component
connected to AUDIO IN jack) has finished, if no
operation is performed for about 20 minutes, the
unit will automatically turn off.
To prepare a power source
This unit contains a rechargeable battery pack.
Charge the battery before using this unit for the
first time, or when it is depleted. You can operate
the unit while charging.
1 Connect the supplied AC adaptor to the
DC IN 6.5V jack on the back of this unit
firmly, and plug it into a wall outlet to
charge the battery.
Note on the AC adaptor
Use the supplied Sony AC adaptor only. The
polarity of the plugs of other manufacturers
may be different. Failure to use the supplied AC
adaptor may cause the unit to malfunction.
2 Confirm that charging has started.
The BATTERY/CHARGE indicator (red) lights
up while charging, and turns off when
charging is complete.
— Increase the separation between the equipment
and receiver.
— Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit
different from that to which the receiver is
connected.
— Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV
technician for help.
WARNING
Replace the battery for the remote commander
with a Sony CR2025 lithium battery only. Use
of another battery may present a risk of fire or
explosion.
Battery may explode if mistreated. Do not
recharge, disassemble or dispose of in fire.
Dispose of used battery promptly, according to

To use the rechargeable
battery
You can operate the unit with the rechargeable
battery instead of the AC adaptor.
Notes on the rechargeable battery
The maximum output will be lower when the
AC adaptor is disconnected.
The BATTERY/CHARGE indicator (green)
becomes dim when the battery is weak, and
turns off when remaining battery power is
depleted.
When to replace the rechargeable
battery
Repeated recharging causes the capacity of the
battery power to decrease over time. Replace the
battery pack when its capacity becomes half the
usual time, even after charging it fully.
Note
The rechargeable battery pack is not a
commercially available product. To purchase
rechargeable battery pack (NH-RDPT50/NH-
M15RDP), consult with your nearest Sony
dealer.
To replace the rechargeable
battery
1 Remove the screw of the battery
compartment at the bottom of the unit,
and open the lid.
2 Disconnect the connector of the battery
pack and pull the old one out.
3 Insert a new battery pack and connect its
connector to the jack.
4 Replace the battery compartment lid and
tighten the screw.
Notes
Charge a new battery pack before use. See “To
prepare a power source” for details.
Turn off the unit and disconnect the AC
adaptor before replacing the battery pack.
When replacing the battery pack, place a soft
cloth etc., under the unit.
To reset the unit
Press the RESET button on the bottom of the unit
with a pointed object if the buttons on the unit do
not function.

How to use the Storage
Stand
To open the Storage Stand
There is a storage stand on the back of the
unit. To open the stand, see “Startup Guide.”
To close the Storage Stand
Close the stand while holding the RELEASE
button.
To store the remote control
Put the remote into the stand.

Before using the supplied remote for the first
time, remove the insulation film.
Aim the remote at the (Remote sensor) of the
unit.
The button indicator flashes when the
remote’s command is received.
When to replace the battery
With normal use, the battery (CR2025) should
last for about 6 months. When the remote can no
longer operate the unit, replace the battery with a
new one.

Fuente de energía
Sistema de desconexión automática
Después de que la reproducción del iPod (o de un
componente conectado al conector AUDIO IN )
haya finalizado, si no se realiza ninguna operación
durante aproximadamente 20 minutos, la unidad
se apagará automáticamente.
Para preparar una fuente de
energía
Esta unidad contiene una batería recargable.
Cargue la batería antes de usar por primera vez
esta unidad, o cuando esté agotada. Puede utilizar
la unidad mientras se carga.
1 Conecte firmemente el adaptador de ca
suministrado al conector DC IN 6.5V
ubicado en la parte trasera de esta
unidad, y enchúfelo a una toma de la red
para cargar la batería.
Nota acerca del adaptador de ca
Use únicamente el adaptador de ca Sony
suministrado. Es posible que la polaridad de los
enchufes de otros fabricantes sea diferente.
Pueden producirse fallas en la unidad si no se
utiliza el adaptador de ca suministrado.
2 Confirme que la carga ha comenzado.
El indicador de BATTERY/CHARGE (rojo) se
encenderá durante la carga, y se apagará
cuando la carga esté completa.
Nota
La carga de la batería tomará un máximo de
7 horas.
Para usar la batería
recargable
Puede operar la unidad con la batería recargable
en lugar del adaptador de ca.
Notas sobre la batería recargable
La salida máxima será más baja cuando el
adaptador de ca esté desconectado.
El indicador BATTERY/CHARGE (verde) se
tornará tenue cuando la batería esté baja, y se
apagará cuando el resto de la batería se agote.
En qué momento debe reemplazar la
batería recargable
La carga repetida hace que la capacidad de la
batería disminuya con el tiempo. Reemplace la
batería cuando su capacidad sea la mitad de la
normal, incluso después de cargarla por completo.
Nota
La batería recargable no es un producto
comercialmente disponible. Para comprar la
batería recargable (NH-RDPT50/NH-
M15RDP), comuníquese con su distribuidor de
Sony más cercano.
Para reemplazar la batería
recargable
1 Retire el tornillo del compartimiento de
la batería en la parte inferior de la unidad
y abra la tapa.
2 Desconecte el conector de la batería y
retire la batería vieja.
3 Inserte una nueva batería y conecte su
conector a la toma.
4 Coloque nuevamente la tapa del
compartimiento de la batería y ajuste el
tornillo.
Notas
Cargue la batería nueva antes de usarla. Para
conocer más detalles, consulte la sección “Para
preparar una fuente de energía”.
Apague la unidad y desconecte el adaptador de
ca antes de reemplazar la batería.
Cuando reemplace la batería, coloque una tela
suave, etc., debajo de la unidad.
Para volver a configurar la
unidad
Presione el botón RESET en la parte inferior de la
unidad con un objeto puntiagudo si los botones
de la unidad no funcionan.

Cómo utilizar el soporte
para almacenamiento
Para abrir el soporte para
almacenamiento
Hay un soporte de almacenamiento en la parte
posterior de la unidad. Para abrir el soporte,
consulte la “Guía de inicio rápido”.
Para cerrar el soporte para
almacenamiento
Cierre el soporte mientras mantiene presionado el
botón RELEASE.
Para almacenar el control
remoto
Coloque el control remoto en el soporte.

Antes de utilizar por primera vez el control
remoto suministrado, quite la película aislante.
Apunte el control remoto a (sensor remoto) de
la unidad.
El botón indicador parpadea cuando recibe
el comando del control remoto.
Cuándo se debe cambiar la batería
En condiciones normales de uso, la batería
(CR2025) debería durar unos 6 meses. Cuando la
unidad ya no funcione con el control remoto,
sustituya la batería por una nueva.
El lado hacia arriba
Nota
Si no va a utilizar el control remoto durante un
período de tiempo prolongado, retire la batería
para evitar que se produzcan daños por fugas o
corrosión.
