3.1 Connect your surge

tionswithyoursurgeprotector.Doingsowill

To connect your surge protector:

1.Plugpowercordintoaproperlygrounded

outlet.

2.Plugcomponents’powercordsdirectly 

intoyoursurgeprotector.

modem

YoursurgeprotectormayofferSolidState

phone/fax/modemprotection.Thisrequires

youtoconnectyourphone/fax/modemto

theprotectedjacksonyoursurgeprotector

insteadofconnectingdirectlytothewalljack.

Philipssurgeprotectorswithtelephone

protectionaredesignedtoprovidemaximum

protectionfromsurgespresentontwo-line

or“dial-up”telephoneservice.Othercom-

municationsnetworkswhichhappentouse

modularjacksmaynotbenefitfromthis

protection.

To connect phone/fax/modem protection:

1.Connectyourphone/fax/modemlinefrom

yourwalljacktothe“input”jackonyour

surgeprotector.

2.Connectaphonecordintothe“output”

jackonthesurgeprotector.

3.Connecttheotherendofthephonecord

tothephone/fax/modemjackofthedevice

youwanttoprotect.

beproperlyconnectedtoaPhilipssurgepro-

tectorwhichofferstelephonelineprotection,
