Maintenance
1.
Allow the engine and muffler to cool.
2.
Remove the bolts A and muffler cover
from the muffler.
3.
Remove the bolts B and tail cap from the
muffler.
4.
Remove the bolts C, spark arrester and
gasket from the muffler.
5.
Use a brush to remove carbon deposits
from the spark arrester screen. Be careful
to avoid damaging the spark arrester
screen. The spark arrester must be free of
breaks and holes. Replace, if necessary.
Check the gasket. Replace, if necessary.
6.
Install the gasket and the spark arrester,
and tighten the bolts C.
7.
Install the tail cap and tighten the bolts B.
8.
Install the muffler cover and tighten the
bolts A.
Torque: 3.9 lbf·ft (5.25 N·m, 0.54 kgf·m).
