COOKTOPISCOOL.
CAUTION: Do NOT use a cooktop cleaner on a hot cooktop. The fumes can be
hazardousto your health, and can chemicallyattack the glass-ceramic
surface.
• Thecartridgedoesnotneedtobe removedfromthecooktopfornormalcleaning. If
removed,bottom may be wiped cleanwith dampcloth. If electricalterminalson
cartridgeare cleaned,drythem thoroughlybeforeusing.
• Forgeneraldailycleaningandlightsurfacesoil,useacleandishclothor papertowel
and washsurface with solutionof water andany of these cleansers:dishwashing
liquidsuchasIvoryorJoy,bakingsoda,finepolishingpowderssuchasBonAmi,or
commercialceramiccooktopcleanserssuchasCooktopCleaningCreme(PartNo.
20000001). Wipewith cleandampclothor papertowel. Rinseand drythoroughly.
• Toremoveresiduefrom burnedon spills,makea pasteofwaterandbakingsodaor
Bon Ami, Bar KeepersFriend,Comet, Shiny Sinksor nonabrasivesoftscrubbing
cleansers,suchasCooktopCleaningCreme(PartNo.20000001).Scrubwithpaper
towels,nylonor plasticscrubber,such asTully. Rinseand drythoroughly. Ifstain
is notremovedeasily,allowpasteto remainon surfacefor30to 40 minutes. Keep
moistbycoveringwith wet papertowel.
• To remove burnedon spot,use a single edge razorblade. Placeblade edge on
cooktopat30angle;scrapeoffspot. Cleanremainderofsoilwith methoddescribed
above.
NOTE:Plasticobjects,sugarol foodswith highsugarcontentallowedtomelt ontothecooktopcancausedamage. See p.6 for cleaning nstructions.
• Make surebottomsof cookpotsare alwaysclean anddry. (Soil from thecookpot
bottomcan be transferredto the cooktopsurface.) Beforeusingcookpots on the
glass-ceramiccooktop for the first time, and periodically as needed, clean the
bottomswith scouringpads orother cleansers. Rinseand dry thoroughly.
• Make ita practiceto wipecooktopsurfacewith a cleandampcloth or papertowel
beforeeach use; drythoroughly. Invisiblespatters,dustspecks,cleansersorwater
cancausestainsthatappearafterunitisheated, Aspongeor dishclothwhichisnot
clean will leave film and soil laden detergent water which may cause stains on
surfaceafter area isheated.
• Whenfrying,usea spattershield toreducespattering.
• Use correctcontrolsettings and cookwarelarge enoughto hold foodand liquidto
prevent boiloversandspattering.
