Instructions Before Use
Any electrical appliance can be dangerous if used incorrectly.
Some of the safety precautions given in this manual apply
generally to many appliances. Other warnings are specic to
the use of this ash vacuum.
General Safety WARNINGS!
Read and understand all instructions before using
this vacuum.
Read and understand this manual and all labels on the ash
vacuum before operating. Safety is a combination of using
common sense, staying alert, and knowing how your vacuum
works. Use this ash vacuum only as described in this manual.
To reduce the risk of personal injury or damage to your ash
vacuum, use only Snow Joe
®
recommended accessories.
Notice the personal safety alert symbol m used in this
manual to draw your attention to a WARNING given along
with the particular operating instruction. This means that
the operation requires special ATTENTION, CAUTION, and
AWARENESS.
mWARNING!
Do not vacuum up soot.
Only vacuum up cold ashes of admissible combustibility.
Do not vacuum up hot, burning, or red hot objects, such
as cigarettes, charcoal, or smoldering ashes.
The temperature of the vacuumed material must be below
100°F (40°C). If it exceeds 100°F (40°C), there is a risk of
re.
mCAUTION! Never use this product to vacuum
liquids. Only use this unit to vacuum dry dust material!
When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions
should always be followed, including the following:
mWARNING! TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE,
ELECTRIC SHOCK OR INJURY:
Do not leave the appliance unattended when it is plugged
into an electrical outlet. Unplug it from the outlet when it is
not in use and before servicing.
Do not use the equipment outdoors or in damp or wet
environments. Do not expose the equipment to rain.
Protect the mains cable from damage. Do not pull or carry
the appliance by the cord, use the cord as a handle, close
a door on the cord, jam the cord, or pull the cord around
sharp edges or corners. Do not run the appliance over the
cord. Keep cord away from heat, oil and sharp surfaces.
Do not unplug the appliance by pulling on the cord. To
unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
Before each use, check the power supply lead and the
extension cable for damage and for signs of wear. Do not
use the equipment if the cable or plug is damaged or worn
as this presents a serious risk of electric shock.
If the power cable for this equipment is damaged, it must
be replaced by the manufacturer, a customer service
agent of the same, or a similarly qualied person in order
to prevent hazards.
Do not handle the plug or the appliance with wet hands.
If the appliance is not working as it should, has been
dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water,
return it to an authorized service center for repair.
Switch the machine o and disconnect the mains plug:
- when the machine is not in use,
- before the machine is opened up,
- for all maintenance and cleaning work,
- if the connecting cable is damaged or tangled.
Make sure that the mains voltage corresponds with the
information on the rating plate.
