I would say it depends on what type of cabinet we're talking about.

Your average kitchen cabinets are usually about 9 1/2 "by 21 inches. This microwave measures 10 by 19 inches. So, you'd a.) Either have to move one shelf upwards 1 inch to accommodate this, or do as I did and purchase a cheap 20 buck shelving unit here along with the microwave.

The microwave itself is a good deal, works as well as the higher priced versions and so, an extra few bucks for a free standing shelf unit is worth it to me. As well as being easier than removing a kitchen cabinet shelf and moving it up an inch, you also get the extra shelving space not used by the microwave!

And it is. I use the Jolly Time pop corn in the bags. I have learned that with this particular microwave, I do not use the "popcorn" settings button, but put the bag in the oven, press 225 seconds and it comes out great.

Yes, it's all by touch. Set it for as many minutes or seconds you would like to cook or defrost. Great microwave.
