Instructions
Electrical connection
CAUTION:
Check the setting of the voltage selector on the bottom of
the appliance before each use! A wrong voltage setting can
destroy the appliance or can trip the house fuse.
NOTE:
In the European countries, the mains voltage is 230 V AC.
Set the voltage to the mains voltage provided by your
electricity supplier: AC 120 V or AC 230 V.
Connect the appliance to a grounded outlet only after you
have lled water into the container.
Preparation
Before using for the rst time, boil fresh water at least three
times in the appliance. Use only water without any additives
or ingredients.
Use
CAUTION:
When the pilot lamp lights on connection to the mains, the
appliance is operating. Accordingly, observe the order of
the operation steps.
NOTE: Always use fresh water.
1. Place the machine on a at surface.
2. In addition, hold the appliance at the handle and remove
the lid.
3. Then ll in the water (max 0.5 litre). The markings MIN
and MAX are inside the water container.
4. Set the lid so onto the water container that the grip on the
lid and the grip on the appliance are joined.
5. Only connect the machine to a properly installed safety
socket.
6. Set the switch to I. The control lamp will light up.
NOTE:
Is the pilot lamp off? Switch on the device with the button
ON.
Pausing / terminating operation
There are two options to interrupt the boiling process or to
terminate it:
The appliance will shut off automatically after the boiling
process. The indicator lamp will go out.
To stop the boiling process, set the switch to O.
WARNING: Danger of scalding!
When pouring the water out, keep the lid closed.
During operation the housing becomes hot. Do not touch
it and allow the device to cool down before storing it
away.
Hot steam may escape when you open the appliance!
Set the switch to O. Disconnect the power cord.

Cleaning
WARNING:
Always turn the device off before cleaning it and remove the mains
plug. Wait until the device has cooled down.
Do not immerse the appliance in water or other liquids.
CAUTION:
Do not use any wire brush or other abrasive objects.
Do not use any acidic or abrasive detergents.
Rinse the water container out with clean water. Then dry it
off with a cloth.
Clean the housing after use with a slightly damp cloth.
Decalcification
The frequency of the decalcifying operation depends on
the hardness of the water and on how often the appliance
is used.
If the machine switches off before the water boils, it proba-
bly needs to be decalcied.
Please do not use vinegar but a commercially available
decalcication agent on the basis of citric acid.
Only use the quantities stated in the instructions.
NOTE:
After descaling the device boil fresh water in it several
times (approximately 3 - 4 times) in order to remove any
residues. Do not consume this water.
