Inserting the Saw Blade (see figure B)
Use the lever 9 to open the cover 8 of the SDS saw blade re-
ceptacle. Insert the saw blade as shown in the illustration. En-
sure that the drive shaft and the end of the saw blade fit in the
recess of the SDS saw blade receptacle 13. Close the cover of
the SDS saw blade receptacle 8 and lock it using the locking
lever of the SDS saw blade receptacle 9 until it can be heard
to engage.
The chain of the saw blade is automatically tensioned.
If the chain slips through or becomes detached from the guide
unit, open and close the cover of the saw blade receptacle.
Removing the Saw Blade
Open the locking lever 9 and fold the cover of the SDS saw
blade receptacle 8 fully upward. Remove the saw blade.
Dust/Chip Extraction
Dust from materials such as lead-containing coatings,
some wood types, minerals and metal can be harmful to
one’s health. Touching or breathing-in the dust can cause
allergic reactions and/or lead to respiratory infections of
the user or bystanders.
Certain dust, such as oak or beech dust, is considered car-
cinogenic, especially in connection with wood-treatment
additives (chromate, wood preservative). Materials con-
taining asbestos may only be worked by specialists.
Provide for good ventilation of the working place.
It is recommended to wear a P2 filter-class respirator.
Observe the relevant regulations in your country for the
materials to be worked.
Prevent dust accumulation at the workplace. Dust can
easily ignite.
Operation
Never bend the saw blade!
Starting Operation
Inserting the battery
Note: Use of batteries not suitable for the machine can lead to
malfunctions of or cause damage to the power tool.
Insert the charged battery 6 into the handle until it can be felt
to engage and faces flush against the handle.
Switching On and Off
To switch on the power tool, first press the lock-off button 3
right or left. Then press the On/Off switch 4 and keep it pressed.
You can let go of the lock-off button 3 while the tool is
switched on.
To switch off the power tool, release the On/Off switch 4.
To save energy, only switch the power tool on when using it.
The lithium-ion battery is protected against deep discharging
by the “Electronic Cell Protection (ECP)”. When the battery is
empty, the power tool is switched off by means of a protective
circuit: The inserted tool no longer moves.
Do not continue to press the On/Off switch after the
machine has been automatically switched off. The bat-
tery can be damaged.
Controlling the Sawing Speed
The sawing speed of the switched-on power tool can be varia-
bly adjusted, depending on how far the On/Off switch 4 is
pressed.
The required sawing speed is dependent on the material and
the work conditions and can be determined by practical trials.
It is recommended that you reduce the sawing speed when
putting the saw blade on the workpiece.
Battery Charge-control Indication
The battery charge-control indicator 7 displays the charge
condition of the battery for several seconds when the On/Off
switch 4 is half-pressed or fully pressed; it consists of an LED
with two colours.
Working Advice (see figures CG)
When sawing small or thin workpieces, always use a
firm support.
When sawing, ensure that the cutting direction is from
the front backwards (see figure E) or from the top
downwards (see figure C)!
Do not carry the power tool on your wrist! The suspen-
sion strap is intended only for storage.
The riving knife 10 prevents sawing against the running direc-
tion of the chain saw.
Saw with moderate pressure in order to achieve optimal and
precise cutting results. Applying additional pressure increases
performance.
If the saw blade should jam, switch the machine off immedi-
ately. Widen the gap somewhat with a suitable tool and pull
out the machine.
Temperature-dependent Overload Protection
In normal conditions of use, the power tool cannot be over-
loaded. If the power tool is placed under too much pressure or
the permitted battery temperature range is left, the tool
switches off. Following an automatic shut-off, switch off the
power tool, allow the battery to cool and then switch the pow-
er tool back on.
Recommendations for Optimal Handling of the Battery
Protect the battery against moisture and water.
Store the battery only within a temperature range between
20 °C and 50 ° C. As an example, do not leave the battery in
the car in summer.
A significantly reduced working period after charging indi-
cates that the battery is used and must be replaced.
Observe the notes for disposal.
LED Capacity
Continuous lighting, green ≥30 %
Continuous lighting, red <30 %
Flashing light, red* 0 %
* The battery charge-control indicator also flashes red when the battery
overheats or is overloaded.
