Cuisinart CPT-540 Questions and Answers

#1 Does this toaster beep or make any electronic sound when the toast is done or when you hit the cancel button ?

No sound, just pops up, but, it does give you a countdown until ready.

#2 Does it fully toast larger slices of bread at the top? Any issues with the plunger not going down far enough?

Yes, if the top of your slice of bread doesn't stick out the top when the plunger is depressed then it toasts evenly all the way up.

#3 Can you sneak a peak while toasting and not cancel the roasting session?

Yes but it's hard to see so I just cancel and restart if needed BUT with that said... Once you dial in your settings and save them to memory you don't need to worry about it. I'm super picky about how toasted my toast is lol. So the fact that I trust the toaster is a miracle. I've never trusted a toaster before.

#4 Does it have a removable crumb tray?

Yes there is a crumb tray, accessible from the back

#5 Does this toaster have a reheat function?

No it does not have a reheat option, however it does have a timer - so you could manage a reheat that way.

#6 How quick does this toaster toast to a medium toaster? Current toaster takes 5 minutes, thus the reason looking for a newer one.

For medium toasting (level 4 of 7), this toaster takes just under 3 minutes. This is for the grain bread setting; not sure about the other bread types.

#7 Does it have wide slots?

Yes, perfect for bagels, or a thick slice of homemade bread!

#8 The single setting heats both slots. What is the point of the single setting?

The single setting reduces the center elements heat so that the side of bread closest to the center does not get toasted darker than the other side.
