Water leaks from the bottom
of the espresso machine.
Coffee runs down the side
of the portafilter.
Very little or no coffee flows
through the portafilter.
There is too much water in
the drip tray.
The coffee maker has possible
internal defect.
Portafilter not properly
inserted.
Edge of sieve not free of
ground coffee.
Sealing ring inside brew
head is dirty.
Sealing ring no longer has
elasticity.
No water in water tank.
The screen inside the brew
head is blocked.
The sieve is blocked.
Clean and dry the drip tray
and replace.
Contact Capresso Customer
Service.
Turn the handle of the
portafilter further to the right.
Turn OFF the appliance,
remove the portafilter and
clean the edges of the sieve.
Turn OFF the appliance,
remove the portafilter and
brew head screen and clean
sealing ring with a hot damp
cloth. CAUTION! HOT!
Sealing ring must be replaced.
Please contact Capresso
Customer Service.
Fill water tank with fresh,
cold water.
Brew water through the
screen without the portafilter
inserted. If no water comes
through, unscrew the screen
and clean and replace.
See chapter 10,h.
Clean the sieve, insert into
the portafilter and pump
water through without coffee.
If no water comes through
the sieve call Capresso
Customer Service for a
replacement sieve.

Espresso only brews out in
drops.
Coffee grounds are too fine
or packed down too firmly.
Coffee/Steam button is not
set for the correct function.
Machine is blocked by
calcium deposits.
Do not tamp coffee grounds
so firmly. Use a coarser
grind of coffee.
Ensure the Coffee/Steam
button is set for Coffee
brewing. The indicator light
should be solid blue.
Decalcify the appliance. See
chapter 11.
