Schlage BE365 CAM 619 Questions and Answers

#1 does this lock have an autolock feature?

You have to turn it manually, which is the main reason I bought this unit. In my experience, similar units that "auto-lock" are problematic in that the "bolt" may not set correctly if not perfectly lined up. On our door, we had problems with humidity and the "auto" feature would jam unless you "jiggled" the door. Also, the "auto" lock units eat up the battery much faster.

#2 Does this come with any door handles? The Lowe's product photo shows a handle but this one doesn't. Neither is very clear on exactly what is included.

The outside knob is how u turn the lock and the inside lever is all there is. There are no door handles other than the knob and lever.

#3 I see the keyhole..does it come with a backup key ?

Yes, you can use the key to unlock it. But I tried to avoid using key because if you don't insert the key right into the keyhole, you scratch the area around it and that makes the lock look ugly.

#4 There is a keyhole on the outer side of the lock, what is it for?

It comes with 2 keys as a back up. If for some reason battery is not working, the lock can be opened manually. I chose this because the battery is not used to actually pull the lock in and out so it should last longer than the fully automatic locks.
