heater.
2. Use extreme caution when using the heater near children, elderly, and pets. Never leave the
heater unattended when in use.
3. Always unplug the heater when not in use.

dropped or damaged. Return heater to authorized facility for examination for electrical or
mechanical adjustments or repairs.
5. Do not use heater outdoors.
6. This heater is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry areas, or any location where it can
be exposed to water. Always use in a dry location.
7. Do not run the power cord under any carpeting. Do not cover power cord with throw rugs,
runners, or any kind of floor covering textile. Keep the power cord away from any traffic
areas where it could be tripped over.
8. To disconnect the heater, turn all controls to the OFF position, then remove plug from the
outlet.
9. Connect ONLY to properly grounded outlets.
10. Do not insert or allow any foreign objects to enter the ventilation or exhaust opening as this
may cause an electrical shock or fire, as well as damaging the heater.
11. Too prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or exhaust at any time. Never use the
heater on a soft surface, such as a bed, where openings may become obstructed.
12. This heater has hot and potentially sparking parts inside. Do not use in areas where
gasoline, paint, or any flammable liquids are used or stored.
13. Use this heater only as described in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the

USER INSTRUCTIONS
1. Any repairs to this unit must be carried out by a qualified and approved service person only.
2. Under no circumstance should this unit be modified. Parts having to be removed for servicing
must be replaced with original parts supplied by the manufacture only.
3. This heater can be cleaned with a damp cloth using water only. Always unplug heater before
cleaning. Do not use abrasive cleaners on this heater.
GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
This heater is for use on 120-volts only. This cord has a plug as shown in figure 1A in the diagram.
And adapter as shown in figure 1C is available for connecting three-blade grounding-type plugs to
two-slot receptacles. The grounding lug extending from the adapter must be connected to a
permanent ground such as a properly grounded outlet box. The adapter should not be used if a
three-slot grounded receptacle is available. (NOTE: grounding adapters are prohibited in Canada).
LOCATION OF YOUR FIREPLACE
When choosing a location for your new electric fireplace, ensure the general instructions for
placement are followed. Also, for the best effect, install the fireplace out of direct sunlight. It is safe to
set the fireplace insert close to non-combustibles.
MANTEL INSTALLATION
Please refer to the detailed instructions that came with the mantel you purchased.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
A 15-amp, 110-1200 volt, 60-hz circuit with a properly grounded outlet is required to operate this
heater. Preferably, the fireplace insert will be on a dedicated circuit as other appliances on the same
circuit may cause the circuit breaker to trip or blow a fuse when the heater is in operation. This unit
comes with a standard 6-foot long 3-wire cord, exiting out the back of the fireplace insert. Plan the
installation to avoid the use of an extension cord. If an extension cord must be used, it must be a
minimum 14-ga, 3-wire with a grounding-type plug and connector, and rated not less than 2025
watts. The extension cord shall not be more than 20-feet in length.
PRE-INSTALLATION
To avoid scratching the finish, assemble the product on a soft, non-abrasive surface, such as carpet
or cardboard. Assembly of this product may require more than one person.
INSTALLATION
Attach top electric fireplace trim piece with the screws provided. Please refer to the detailed
instructions that came with the manual that you purchased.

OPERATION
The electric fireplace “ON/OFF” switch must be switched to “ON” before any of the control functions
will operate. The main switch does not have to be turned off when the electric fireplace is not being
used for brief time periods. If, however, you are not planning to use the electric fireplace for
extended periods of time, we recommend the main power “ON/OFF” be switched off.
This electric fireplace insert features convenient separate controls for the flame effect and heat
control. This feature allows you to operate the unit in two different ways. 1.) as a full featured
fireplace insert with both flame effect and heater operating simultaneously and 2.) as a visual effect
with flame affect only. NOTE: This electric fireplace insert is not designed to operate in “heat” mode
without a flame effect.

MAINTENANCE OF MOTORS

life and require no further lubrication. However, periodic cleaning/vacuuming of the unit
around the air intake and exhaust, as well as the fan heater, is recommended. For heavy
blows alternating cold and warm air, check the fan for free movement and for debris
restricting air flow. If the fan does not move freely, the unit needs to be turned off and the fan
replaced in order to prevent further damage of the unit.
