#1 How to take a photograph of the TV?

If you have problems with the picture quality or if the display is defective, it is advisable to provide Philips customer service with photos that clearly show the problem. Your photos will allow us to judge the situation more efficiently to provide the most suitable type of service.



The following article describes the requirements your photos should meet and gives you a few tips on taking optimal images.



What are typical problems for which you should provide us with a photo?



Pixel defects
Horizontal or vertical lines
Image artefacts
Screen defects or other mechanical damage
Bright or dark areas
Uneven backlight distribution across the visible area of the screen
Light leakage at the edges of the screen
Burn-In problems
Error messages or unclear behaviour of the device
Signal strength or images of the CSM menu


Summary of recommended requirements:



Please send at least two photos, one photo showing the entire TV and one detailed picture of the problem.
Please take the photo in a well-lit room, i.e. under normal viewing/content consumption conditions.
Please do not use a flash or the night mode of your camera.
The images must not be blurred or overexposed.
Make sure that no private information or otherwise inappropriate content is visible on the photos.

#2 How to update the software of your Philips TV via USB port?

Follow these steps to update the software of your television via USB port:


1. Insert the USB flash drive into the computer.
Format the USB flash drive to FAT32 ( Right click with your mouse > " Format ")
2. Open your web browser and go to:
www.philips.com/tvsupport
3. Click on “Software & Drivers"

4. Enter the model number (also known as set type and product number).
Click on your TV model.
5. A new page will appear.
Click on “Software Updates ”
6. The dedicated software page for this TV model will show the version number.



7. Check the current software version on the TV.
Only update the software if the version mentioned on the website is higher than the software version installed on the TV.
8. Download the software file (.zip file) on your computer or laptop.
Please read the End User License Agreement carefully.
Click "I Accept" to proceed with downloading, click "I do not accept" to return to the previous page.
If the terms of use are accepted, the download will automatically start. Wait for the download to finish.
9. "Unzip" the downloaded software files into the root of the USB flash drive.
The extraction of downloaded files (Unzipping) may vary between different laptops and PC’s.
Note: The only file on the USB will be the "autorun_xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx.upg" file.
10. Turn off the TV and insert the USB flash drive into The TV's USB port.



11. Turn on the TV.
The software update screen will automatically appear.
12. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the software.
After the instructions have been completed, the TV will download and install the software.
Note: DO NOT turn off the TV during the software update.
13. Once the software is installed, the TV will automatically restart.

14. Please remove the USB flash drive from the TV's USB port.

15. The software update is now complete!
