#1 Does this unit create a new network or extend current WiFi?

It can be used in two different ways. If you just plug it into the wall and connect it to your existing WiFi, it creates a new SSID. Alternatively, you can run an ethernet cable to its location, where it will act as an access point to extend the existing wireless network.

#2 I’m confused on installing this if the WPS is off does that mean the extender is not secure or whatever device it connects too is not secure??

WPS is only used for connecting the extender to your router, and once that is done it is turned off until you want to rerun the WPS setup.

#3 How do iI connect this to xfinity using a netgear modem/router?

It is relatively easy. The instructions provided are clear. You will pair/login to the device, then provide the device with the 2.4 GHz WiFi info to your Netgear. After that, you keep theirs or change the SSID to something you want (and a give it a password). It reboots and it is ready to use.

#4 My router is located in the panty. Which is away from all the necessary locations that we need a signal booster. Will this work in this location???

I am no expert on these but I believe the purpose is to boost your current router, it does not need to be in the pantry after the initial set up of the product it can be moved to any outlet in the home. I hope this helps.
