Sony STR-DN1030 Questions and Answers

#1 I hooked up my sony Blue Ray DVD to receiver and I'm getting "device not compatible" message on TV screen. I got no issues with Roku. Can anyone help?

What model Sony DVD player? 3D? Could be the HDMI cable between DVD and receiver needs to be high speed. Does the DVD player work OK when plugged directly into TV? My PS3 works great with this receiver be sure you have the latest software on receiver and DVD player. Roku streaming video requires a lot less HDMI band width and lesser HDMI cable will probably work alright but will not be sufficient for 3D Blue Ray.

#2 Is it normal for this receiver to take about ten plus seconds to change over to another source?

The answer is "It depends". If you are changing sources that has different resolution then it will take longer. e.g. 1080p source to 1080i or to 720p. I have seen this with more expensive receivers as well.

#3 I have a powered turntable with USB interface. Is this compatible with this receiver? Thanks

Hi, this Sony AV receiver USB function is for playing audio devices that includes mass storage class, compatible iPhone/iPod that contains mp3, wma, aac and wav music format. This might not work on your turntable. You may check its specification though.
