Philips 42PFL9664H/12 Questions and Answers

#1 What kind of antenna should I use for my Philips TV?

In a SFN (Single Frequency Network) environment a more directional sensitive antenna is preferred.

A gitter antenna (which is less direction sensitive) can cause bad signal.

The use of a non-directional antenna could result in a bad reception, because of the interference from other antennas in its vicinity.

Gitter-antennas are also marketed as digital antennas.

#2 Why did the Scenea photo in Philips TV switch off after some time?

When Scenea is on, the TV switches to standby automatically after 4 hours. The TV shows a message 1 minute before switching to standby. This switching to standby prevents unnecessary energy use in case you forgot that Scenea was on.

#3 Can I connect a keyboard and/or mouse to my Philips TV?

It is not possible to connect a wired or wireless keyboard/mouse. However, with JointSPACE enabled on your TV and this iPhone app you can simulate a keyboard and even control your TV.

JointSPACE (JS) support:

2k9 models (xxPFLxxx4) support JS since software version 26.76
2k10 models (xxPFLxxx5) will support JS from v140.23 onwards
The ‘/F7’ models do not* support JS.

Note: When activating JointSPACE on the TV, the JS logo will flash for only 1–2 seconds. This is the confirmation that it is enabled.
