GE - General Electric AEM10AQH2 Questions and Answers

#1 What is the lowest temperature setting possible on the digital
thermostat? I am looking for a unit to keep a room around
60F.

The lowest setting for this model is 64F

On model AEM10AQ, using the temperature increase and
decrease pads the temperature can be set between 64
degrees Fahrenheit (F) and 86 degrees F in 1 degree
increments. An electronic thermostat is used to maintain
the room temperature. The compressor will cycle on
and off to keep the room at the set level of comfort.
Set the thermostat at a lower number and the indoor air
will become cooler. Set the thermostat at a higher
number and the indoor air will become warmer.
I hope this information is helpful.

#2 why does it cut off after running a short while
i installed air conditioner as directed. but it runs for a while
and cuts off

There are really only two things I can think you might want
to double check:

1) Be absolutely sure any vents or louvers on the outside
of the case are not restricted or blocked in any way.
2) Make sure this air conditioner is connected to a 120
volt, 15 amp dedicated circuit.
If neither of these suggestions resolves the issue you are
experiencing you will need service.

You can call 1-800-432-2737 to schedule service or you
can schedule service online at:

With August upon us I hope you are able to get the unit up
and running soon. Be sure and let us know if you have
additional questions.
