Frigidaire FFTA1033S1 Questions and Answers

#1 Why is my Filter Reset light on?

This feature is a reminder to clean the Air Filter (refer to
Care and Cleaning section of the Use and Care Guide) for
more efficient operation.
The LED light will illuminate after 250 hours of operation.
After cleaning the filter, plug the unit back into the power
source and reset the filter by pressing the ‘Filter Reset’
button and the light will go off.

#2 How do I clean my air conditioner's air filter?

For most air conditioners, the filter can be found by opening
the front panel. Since it’s a reusable filter, you can simply
remove and clean using warm, soapy water. After cleaning,
allow the filter to dry thoroughly before replacing it. You
may also vacuum the air filter to remove excess dirt and
particles.

#3 I have noticed that my ENERGY STAR air conditioner is
frequently in Econ mode?

For all new ENERGY STAR products the EPA has regulated
that all ENERGY STAR air conditioners must be factory set
to Energy Saver (Econ) mode.
If you turn the room air conditioner off in cool mode, and
restart the unit it will default back into Energy Saver mode.
You may select out of Energy Saver mode by selecting the
mode button, however we recommend using the feature to
help save energy.

#4 Why is my room air conditioner making noise?

Room Air Conditioners, during operation, may make noise. It is
normal to hear ‘high pitch chatter’ a sound of rushing air,
gurgle/hiss, pinging or swishing and vibration. These are all
normal.

#5 What does Sleep Mode mean?

When this mode is enabled, the selected temperature will
increase by 2 °F 30 minutes after the mode is selected.
The temperature will then increase by another 2 °F after an
additional 30 minutes. This new temperature will be
maintained for 7 hours before returning to the originally
selected temperature.
This ends the “Sleep” mode and the unit will continue to
operate as originally programmed. You may also cancel
sleep mode at any time by again pressing the sleep button

#6 What does the Clean Air button do?

When this feature is on, the electronic air purifier is energized
to remove pollen and impurities from the air. To cancel this
feature, press the Clean Air button.

#7 How does the power cord work on my air conditioner? When
should I test the plug?

For your safety all Frigidaire air conditioners feature a 3-
prong grounding plug and current leakage detection device.
These enhanced plugs help to detect damages to the
power cord and can be tested following a few simple steps.

1. Press the reset button
2. Plug the cord into the power outlet
3. Press the test button, the reset button should pop up
4. Press reset button for use
5. Do not use room air conditioner if above test fails.
For more information please consult your use and care
manual.

#8 What is Econ mode?

Econ mode, or Energy Saver mode, is a setting that works
similar to central AC.
The room air conditioner will turn off once the set temp is
reached; the fan then cycles on (for 20 sec.) every 10 min
to sample the air temp. If the room temp is above the set
temp, the compressor will turn back on.
Since the room air conditioner is not running at all times,
this setting will help save energy while ensuring the room
temperature stays at the set temperature
