Frigidaire FGIF3036TD Questions and Answers

#1 How does an air fryer oven work?

Air Fry is an oven feature that works like a countertop air fryer. Inside an air fryer oven, superheated air circulates around the food to provide crispy, golden results without all the oil that deep frying requires.
Air fryer ovens like the Frigidaire Gallery 30” Front Control Induction Range With Air Fry eliminate the need for another countertop appliance by putting the same technology right in your oven.

#2 What does the Lock feature do and how can I activate it?

Your appliance may be equipped with the ability to Lock the
oven door and display controls.
To set the oven Lock feature (instructions may vary by model –
check your Owner’s Manual for more details):

Press OFF and hold for 6 seconds. Lock will appear in the
display, the door locked indicator light will flash, and the door
lock will begin to close.
Allow about 15 seconds for the oven door to lock.
Once the oven is locked, the current time of day will appear in
the display.
To cancel the oven Lock feature, press Off and hold for 6
seconds. The control will unlock the oven door and resume
normal operations.

#3 Can you use aluminum foil in an air fryer oven?

Air Fry works best on dark pans because they get and stay hot
very quickly. Shiny foil reflects heat of the bakeware, which may
change your results.
When cooking with the ReadyCookTM Air Fry Tray, we suggest
putting a baking sheet on a rack a couple of positions below
your tray.
You can line that sheet with foil or parchment (or both) to catch
any drips or crumbs, but you should never put aluminum foil,
liners, or bakeware on the oven bottom. Items in this location
can cause issues with air circulation and direct heat in any oven.
Always keep the bottom of the oven clear so the air can
circulate properly.

#4 What is Air Fry and how do I use it with my Frigidaire oven?

Air Fry allows superheated air to circulate in the oven to provide
crispy, golden results without all the oil that deep frying requires.
Use the Air Fry feature in your oven and save time and space on
your kitchen counter. No need for a separate appliance on your
counter!
Use dark bakeware with little to no sides or try our
ReadyCookTM Air Fry Tray to get the best results. The
ReadyCookTM Air Fry Tray comes with an Air Fry basket and
Oven Rack that allows for improved airflow for crispier results.

#5 Is it normal for a fan to come on while using my range and when
does it stop running?

Yes, it is normal to hear your oven fan running when you turn on
the oven including during preheat.
The fan helps circulate the oven temperatures and will come on
and off during the baking process. The fan may stay on after
you have finished baking and turned the oven off. The fan will
stop once the internal temperature of the oven cools down.

#6 Can I "mute" the audible tones on my appliance?

The option to silent audible tones may not be applicable on all
models so you want to check your Owner’s Manual.
For applicable models - When selecting a function on your
display, an audible tone is heard each time a key is pressed. If
you desire, the display can be programmed for silent operation.
- To set the controls for silent operation: Press and hold Start
Time for 6 seconds. The display will beep once and then you
can release the key. The controls are now set for silent
operation.
- To return your audible tones to normal operation: Press and
hold Start Time again for 6 seconds until the display beeps once
and then you release the key. The controls are now set for
audible operation.

#7 How do I use the meat probe?

A meat probe works best with foods such as roasts, hams and
poultry. The meat probe helps to ensure the internal food
temperature reaches the desired "target" temperature. When the
meat probe is active, it will display the internal food
temperature, eliminating the need for any guesswork.
To use the meat probe:
- Insert the probe into the food and place the food on the
desired oven rack.
- Plug the connector end of the probe all the way into the probe
receptacle while the oven is still cool. The receptacle is located
on the upper left front part of the oven wall.
- When the probe is detected, an acceptance tone will sound,
and icon will illuminate on the oven display.

#8 What are the benefits of Induction?

Induction cooking directly heats the pan; heating will only begin
when cookware is properly placed on the cooking zones.
Fast and efficient - Induction cooking zones heat faster and use
less energy. Induction power levels are quick to boil and they are
efficient when simmering. A cooler cooktop - A unique feature
of the induction cooking zones is, whether it is turned on or off,
the cooking zones remain cooler than radiant type elements.
Virtually no wasted heat is produced since the heat begins with
the presence of cookware. Easy cleanups - The cooler cooking
zones make cleanup easier. Spills resist sticking or burning so
they wipe up easily. Magnetic detector - The cooking zone has a
sensor that automatically detects whether cookware is
magnetic.
This will reduce accidental “turn-ons.” Pan size detection - The
pan size recognition sensor automatically detects and adapts
the induction cooking zones to the pan sizes in use for
consistent, more even cooking. More responsive - Induction
cooking zones are more responsive than their electric or gas
counterparts because only the pan heats.
This type of cooking heats easier and will be just as responsive
when reducing to a simmer.
