this in the appropriate container or rubbish bag to help protect the
environment.
Disposing of old electrical items
European Directive 2012/19/EC regarding Waste from Electrical and
Electronic Equipment (WEEE), states that old household electrical
appliances may not be disposed of via regular unsorted waste streams.
To optimise used material recycling and reduce the negative effects
on health and the environment, old appliances should be collected
separately. The “crossed-out wheelie bin” logo on the product will
remind you that when you wish to dispose of the appliance you are
obliged to have it collected separately. Consumers should contact their
local authority for information regarding the correct disposal of old
appliances.
