User manual Induction Cooktop

PARTS AND FEATURES

1. Ceramic face plate.
2. Effective induction perimeter ring.
3. Timer button.
4. Temperature button.
5. Decrease button.
6. LED display screen.
7. Increase button.
8. Power/Wattage button.
9. On/Off button.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

1. Plug in the AC cord. The buzzer will sound indicating the induction cooker is now in standby mode.

2. Press/touch the "On/off” button to power up the induction cooktop. The word “ON” will be displayed on the LED screen.

3. TEMP:

The temperature level can be selected from 60 - 240 degrees celcius. Place your induction ready pot or pan onto the induction cooktop and center it over the Effective induction perimeter ring (2). Press the TEMP button (4) and the induction cooktop will begin to operate at the factory temperature preset.

Use the "increase and decrease” buttons to select the desired temperature setting. The setting will be displayed on the LED screen.

*Note* The temperature indicated on the LED screen is to be used as a guide only. Temperature fluctuations of 20-30 degrees celcius above or below the selected setting may be experienced depending on pot contents.

4. POWER:

The power level can be selected from 200 - 2000 watts. Place your induction ready pot or pan onto the induction cooktop and center it over the Effective induction perimeter ring (2). Press the POWER button (8) and the induction cooktop will begin to operate at the factory temperature preset. Use the increase (7) and decrease (5) buttons to select the desired power setting.

The setting will be displayed on the LED screen.

5. TIMER:

The timer ranges from 1 minute to 180 minutes. To use the timer, select the desired power or temperature level using the TEMP (4) or Power (8) buttons. Once temperature or power setting has been selected, press the timer button (3). The LED screen will display the factory preset time of "0” minutes. Using the increase (7) and decrease (5) buttons, select the desired time required in minutes. The unit will automatically power off once the desired amount of time has been reached.

6. CHILD LOCK:

To engage the child lock, press the increase (7) and decrease (5) buttons simultaneously. The LED display will display the word “LOC” to indicate the unit is child locked. To disengage the child lock, hold the increase (7) and decrease (5) buttons simultaneously for 2 - 3 seconds. The Child lock will disengage.

7. AUTO-OFF:

When in TEMP or POWER mode, the unit will automatically shut itself off after a period of 2 hours.

*Note* The Induction Cooktop fan will continue to operate for a period of 2 minutes after the unit has been switched off to cool the internal components. It is important that the unit is left plugged in and allowed to complete the cooling cycle in order to ensure long life of the components.

ERROR GUIDE

CLEANING & CARE

1. Allow the induction cooktop to cool thoroughly after using. Exposing to water whilst hot may cause shattering or damage to the ceramic plate.
2. When cleaning, non-abrasive cloths may be used to remove stubborn food particles from your induction cooktop. Do not use abrasive cloths and cleaning materials as they may damage the induction cooktop cooking surface.
3. Ensure induction cooktop is completely dry before storage and use.
4. Store in a dry place away from steam and humidity where possible.

DANGER: Do not under any circumstances immerse the power cord, mains plug or induction cooktop body in water or any other liquid.

*Note* The Induction Cooktop fan will continue to operate for a period of 2 minutes after the unit has been switched off to cool the internal components. It is important that the unit is left plugged in and allowed to complete the cooling cycle in order to ensure long life of the components.

TROUBLESHOOTING

BEFORE CALLING FOR SERVICE

If the induction cooktop fails to operate:

1. Make sure the unit is plugged in correctly and securely. If there is still no response, remove the plug from the outlet, wait 10 seconds and plug it back in securely.
2. Check for a blown or tripped circuit breaker in your home. If these seem to be working correctly, test another appliance in the same outlet to ensure the outlet is working correctly.

IF NONE OF THE ABOVE SOLVES THE PROBLEM, DO NOT TRY TO ADJUST OR REPAIR THE FRYPAN YOURSELF.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

***WARNING***

The temperature of accessible surfaces may be hot whilst the induction cooktop is operating.

1. Read all instructions in this manual carefully before using your new induction cooktop. Save these instructions.

2. Always use this induction cooktop with a power outlet of the voltage (A.C. only) marked on the back of the appliance.

3. This appliance is intended for non-commercial, indoors use only. Do not use this appliance for anything other than its intended use.

4. DANGER: Do not operate the induction cooktop if:

- the cord or plug is split, melted or damaged.

- the cooktop has malfunctioned.

- the cooktop has been damaged in any manner.

If any of the above incidents occur, return your induction cooktop to the nearest authorised service center for examination, repair or adjustment.

5. DANGER: Always use this induction cooktop on a stable, heat resistant surface.

6. DANGER: Do not under any circumstances immerse the power cord, mains plug or induction cooktop body in water or any other liquid.

7. WARNING: Incorrect operation and improper use may damage the cooktop or parts thereof, and cause severe personal injury.

8. WARNING: When operating the induction cooktop, use the touch panel buttons only as some surfaces will become very hot whilst the cooktop is in use.

9. WARNING: Always ensure there is sufficient ventilation around the induction cooktop when in use.

10. WARNING: Do not place the induction cooktop into the dishwasher.

11. WARNING: After wiping or cleaning the induction cooktop, ensure that the unit is completely dry before use or storage.

12. WARNING: Do not place the induction cooktop on or near materials that could easily catch fire.

13. CAUTION: Care should be taken to ensure the air inlets and outlets are not blocked. When heating, the cooktop must be placed at least 10cm from the wall.

14. CAUTION: If using plastic or nylon utensils do not leave in hot cooking vessel.

15. CAUTION: The induction cooktop must not be left unattended while it is connected to the supply mains. Unplug the appliance from mains when:

- cleaning.

- moving it to storage.

- not in use.

16. WARNING: Although the unit is rated to 240 degrees celcius, it is not recommended to use the unit at this level for extended periods of time as it can:

- Burn your food.

- Cause food to boil over and spill onto the unit potentially damaging the glass surface.

17. CAUTION: Keep the induction cooktop out of reach of children less than 8 years old.

18. This induction cooktop is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the induction cooktop in a safe way by the person responsible for their safety, and understand the hazards involved.

19. Children should be supervised not allowed to play with the induction cooktop.

20. Do not use the induction cooktop when children are in the vicinity.

21. Always turn the power off at the power outlet before you insert or remove the power plug. Remove by grasping the plug - do not pull on the cord.

22. This induction cooktop is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.

23. Do not place your induction cooktop on or near a hot gas flame, electric element, heated oven or any hot surface.

24. Do not place the induction cooktop on top of any other appliance.

25. Do not permit the mains supply cord or plug to touch a hot frypan or other hot objects, or allow the power cord to lay across the induction cooktop.

26. Do not allow the power cord of the induction cooktop to hang over the edge of a table or bench top.

27. The induction cooktop must be used on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Avoid using the induction cooktop on metal surfaces, such as the kitchen sink or a hotplate.

28. Never carry or hang the induction cooktop for storage by the power cord.

29. Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaning agents or any sharp instruments for cleaning the unit. When the unit is cool to touch, the outside surface may be wiped clean with a soft, damp cloth or sponge and then dried thoroughly. If necessary, a mild dishwashing detergent may be applied to the cloth or sponge but not directly applied to the induction cooktop.

30. Immediately unplug the induction cooktop from mains power if malfunction occurs.

31. After use, wait for the induction cooktop to cool down before moving or storing.

ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS

POWER SUPPLY CORD

1. Do not attempt to modify the power cord or plug in any way.
2. A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk of becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
3. If the power supply cord is too short, do not use an extension cord. Have a qualified electrician or serviceman install an outlet near the appliance.

NOTE: Neither Westinghouse nor the retailer can accept any liability for damage to the product or personal injury resulting due to failure to observe the electrical connection procedures.

INSTALLATION GUIDE

1. Carefully unpack your induction cooktop.
2. Carefully remove packaging around the induction cooktop and power cord. Do not remove warning labels.

DANGER: Do not under any circumstances immerse the induction cooker body, mains cord or mains plug in water or any other liquid.

WARNING: After washing or cleaning the induction cooktop ensure that the unit is completely dry before use or storage.

WARNING: Do not place the induction cooktop on or near materials that could easily catch fire.
