#2 Can this cooktop handle "home canning" ..I use large pressure canner and large hot water canners?

yes this cooktop can be used for canning. When canning for long periods, alternate the use of surface cooking areas, elements or surface burners between batches. This allows time for the most recently used areas to cool.

#3 Are the knobs made out of plastic?

The Cooktop knobs are made of plastic.

#4 Can i use cast iron skillets?

Cast Iron can be used, but you would want to use care when using. Burrs and imperfections in the cast iron could scratch the surface.

#5 Has this model been discontinued? I saw a display marked down to 274.75 but the sales clerk acted like they couldn't sell the display
