Please read all the instructions in this owner’s manual. Keep this manual in a safe place for future reference if necessary. The owner’s manual includes:

MATERIALS/MANUFACTURING
Your canoe is made of Ram-X™. Its great flexibility offers
exceptional shock resistance. This flexibility increases with
heat or with the craft’s prolonged exposure to the sun but may also slightly
warp the hull. The warping disappears when the hull cools and never affects
the craft’s performance.
Ram-X™ is a superior material that was developed and registered in 1978. It quickly
became the benchmark of quality in the industry thanks to its shock resistance
and ability to regain its initial shape following an impact. Widely hailed by
consumers, Ram-X™ is a step above other materials used in the industry.
TRANSPORTATION
The carrying handles at both ends help in the transportation of the canoe by hand.
These handles should not be used to fasten the canoe to a vehicule.
/ Make sure the canoe is rmly tied down, whether on a vehicle or trailer.
/ Before setting out, make sure all accessories have been removed
and packed into the vehicle to avoid damaging or losing them.
PRELAUNCH CHECKLIST
/ Always wear a proper personal flotation device (PFD).
/ Emergency paddle(s) or oar(s) are on board.
/ Always have an emergency safety kit on hand as required by applicable
laws (whistle, etc.)
/ Motor(s) and battery are in good order (if applicable).
/ If using a gasoline outboard motor, always attach it to the canoe
with a canoe motor mount (if applicable).
/ All weight is properly distributed.
/ Always have one buoyant heaving line at least 15m (49’3’’) long and
one bailer or manual bilge pump (or bilge-pumping arrangements).
LAUNCHING YOUR CANOE
/ All straps or tie-downs have been removed.
/ You step into the center of the boat when boarding, to assure that
the boat remains stable.
/ Never board by stepping onto the gunnel.
TRIM ADJUSTMENTS (IF APPLICABLE, SQUARE BACK CANOES ONLY)
/ Different load conditions may require different trim angle settings. When the
drive unit (propeller) is closest to the transom, it will tend to push the bow
down when power is applied. If the bow digs excessively into the water, shift
some of the weight to the stern and / or move the propeller further away from
the transom. On the contrary, if the propeller is too far from the transom,
the bow will rise excessively when power is applied. In this case, move some
weight forward in the canoe and / or bring the propeller closer to the transom.
/ Performance depends on the balance between proper weight distribution,
trim angle and engine horsepower.
MOORING/DOCKING
/ Always moor boat away from rocks or sharp objects.
/ Make sure that the motor is raised before mooring (if applicable).
/ Always moor your boat in water that is deep enough so that the bottom hull
does not get damaged.
/ Never moor boat against a dock without proper protection (bumpers) for
the sides of the hull.

We suggest that you read the information below before using the boat. Failure to follow the
warnings / precautions below may lead to serious injury or death. Paddle sports can be dangerous
and physically demanding. Participating in paddle sports may put you at risk of serious injury or
death. You should receive qualied instructions to learn proper paddling techniques, water safety, and
rst aid before going boating.
WARNING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND WATER LEVELS
Check the weather and water conditions before you go boating. Your boat is designed to be used only
in sheltered waters, lakes, and slow moving streams. It is not designed for whitewater use. Never go
paddling in severe winds, rain, thunderstorms, choppy waters, strong currents, flood waters, or where
tides will seriously affect your ability to steer the boat or return to shore.
WARNING PERSONAL FLOTATION DEVICE (PFD)
Before going paddling, read the PFD manufacturer’s information pamphlet regarding the PFD and
thoroughly familiarize yourself with how the PFD is to be worn.
WARNING ALCOHOL AND DRUGS
Never use or consume alcohol, drugs or any other mind altering substance that may affect your
coordination, judgment or ability to safely and securely operate your canoe.
CAUTION SOUND-SIGNALLING DEVICE
The Coast Guard requires boaters to have a means of signaling other boaters of their presence. You
should keep a sound device in the boat with you at all times. If possible, attach the sound device to
your Personal Flotation Device.
WARNING STANDING UP IN THE CANOE
Standing up in the canoe may cause it to capsize. If the boat should capsize, please note that, in most
cases, it is far more dangerous to attempt to swim to shore than to stay with the boat.
WARNING ABILITY
Know your limits. Consult your physician before beginning your kayak training. Realistically assess your
physical condition to determine how far and how long you can paddle or swim. If unsure, start your trip by
paddling against the current so the return trip with the current is easier.
WARNING HYPOTHERMIA
Dress properly for weather conditions and wear a wetsuit if necessary. Canoe accidents in cold water
are very dangerous. The loss of body heat due to immersion in cold water (hypothermia) can be fatal.
Survival time in cold water can be as little as 15 to 20 minutes.
CAUTION BE ACCOMPANIED
Always paddle with someone. It is preferable to be accompanied in case of an emergency or accident.
You should also be aware of the level of physical ability and medical conditions of people paddling with you.
Always let someone know about your plan to go paddling, including your destination, how long you will be
gone, and how many people will be with you.
WARNING ALWAYS FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH THE
BODY OF WATER YOU INTEND TO NAVIGATE
Learn what hours boating is permitted, whether there are any known hazardous conditions and
where you can get help quickly in case of emergency or accident
CAUTION REGULATIONS AND LAWS
Always follow Coast Guard regulations, boating and safety laws, and regulations and orders
of various levels of government (including regional).Consult the Coast Guard and government
authorities on the proper handling of a canoe and the required safety equipment such as lighting
and sound alarms.
CAUTION SLIPPERY WHEN WET
The canoe material is extremely slippery when wet. We recommend wearing slip resistant shoes to
increase traction and staying in the center of the canoe.
CAUTION MOTOR (IF APPLICABLE)
Never use a motor larger than rated on capacity tag displayed on the boat. Follow instructions
that come with motor. Handle gasoline with extreme care. Avoid sudden maneuvers which could
cause loss of control, and capsizing, or passengers to fall from the boat.
CAUTION WEIGHT CAPACITY
Review the passenger and weight capacity limitations. Ensure the loading will be
within these limits. Proper distribution of weight is necessary to ensure proper balance
(trim) and performance. Each boat has capacity tag clearly displayed on the craft.
CAUTION EMERGENCY PADDLE(S)
Always bring an emergency paddle or oar on board.
WARNING
NEVER let minors use this canoe without adult supervision.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
The best way to clean your canoe is to wash it with lukewarm water and mild soap. Do not use harsh
abrasives. Regular cleaning will keep your canoe looking like new. Never attempt to paint the canoe
because it will not stick to the hull. If the aluminum gunnels oxidize from exposure, occasionally clean
them with a good aluminum cleaner / polish.
/ Caution must be used if you decide to use a pressure washer to clean your canoe.
/ Never use the pressure washer inside your canoe as it could damage accessories and stickers.
/ Only use a pressure washer on the hull below the water line.
/ Always use widest setting on the jet spray.
STORAGE
/ The best way to store your canoe is to simply set it on a flat surface. Never store it on sawhorses.
/ If outdoors, cover it with a tarpaulin.
/ Do not leave straps or ropes tightly wound around the hull for any extended period of time,
especially in warmer weather.
/ The hull surface, much as the exterior nish of a car, will better retain its appearance if not exposed
to the sun while in long-term storage.
CAUTION
Gravel and small rocks tend to accumulate beneath the keelson. Unless removed, these small rocks can
wear a hole in the hull. As often as possible, turn the boat on its side and while pushing the bottom away
from keelson wash out any rocks or gravel.
SQUARE BACK CANOES
Some water may accumulate between the hull and liner due to paddling, or rain.
This is not a defect. To drain, tip the canoe on its bow.

Your canoe is built with superior materials and in accordance to stringent quality
standards. With adequate maintenance, they will give you years of reliable use.
But as with most products, they are subject to wear and tear. If you eventually
need replacement parts, technical assistance or product / service information,
please contact our Customer Service Department having ready at hand the
product’s model name as well as the date and place of purchase along with proof
of purchase. For any warranty claim, please consult the section Warranty Claim
Procedure.
Pelican International Inc. offers a 2-year limited warranty against defects in
materials and workmanship on the hull from the date of purchase.
Product component parts and accessories included at time of purchase are
warranted for a period of one year (1 year) from the date of purchase against
defects in workmanship and / or materials. A proof of purchase will be required.
Pelican International Inc.’s warranty is valid only if the product is used for its
intended purposes and for which it was designed and only extends to original
purchaser (is non-transferable).
THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER:
/ Canoes used for rental or other commercial use
/ Products used that have been damaged by negligence, misuse or accident,
or wear due to owner’s failure to provide reasonable and necessary maintenance
/ Products which have been modied or repaired by unauthorized persons
/ Change in appearance of product due to wear, unlimited exposure
or any other environmental condition
/ Products sold as “demos” or “as is” conditions, prototypes or floor models.
/ Normal wear and tear
If upon unwrapping, you discover your new product is
damaged and not in good condition, please contact
Pelican International Inc. as soon as possible to resolve
the problem. For any warranty claim, please consult
the section Warranty Claim Procedure.
*** We are not responsible for damage or defects once the product has been
used. Damage is dened as impact with any object or material, damage due to
dropping, loading, unloading, or transport, alterations or modications, repairs,
natural disasters, res, extreme temperatures, and any further use of your product
once a claim has been reported.
We strongly recommend you register your warranty to help us get in touch with you
if any situation arise where we would need to establish contact. Your warranty can
be registered directly on our website www.pelicansport.com or in the mail by using
the warranty card provided in the owner manual of your product.
This warranty is the sole and exclusive warranty by Pelican International Inc.
in connection with its above mentioned products and Pelican International Inc.
makes no warranties or representations, expressed or implied (including warranties
of merchantability and of tness for a particular purpose) in such connection except as
specically set in this warranty.
All incidental and/or consequential damages are excluded from this warranty.
Implied warranties are limited to the life of this warranty. Some states do not allow
limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts or the exclusion or limitation of
incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not
apply to you. This warranty gives you special legal rights, and you may also have other
legal rights which may vary from state to state.

résistance aux chocs grâce à sa flexibilité. Cette flexibilité
s’accroît avec la chaleur et l’exposition prolongée de l’embarcation
au soleil peut entraîner la formation de légères ondulations sur la coque. Dans cette
éventualité, elles disparaîtront une fois la coque refroidie. Mais dans aucun cas elles
ne nuiront à la performance de l’embarcation.
Le Ram-X
MC
est un matériau de qualité supérieure, conçu et enregistré en 1978. Il est
rapidement devenu le symbole de qualité de l’industrie en ce qui a trait à la résistance aux chocs
et à la capacité à reprendre sa forme originale après un impact. Largement apprécié par les
consommateurs, le Ram-X
MC
se différencie de tous les autres matériaux utilisés dans l’industrie.
TRANSPORT
Les poignées situées aux extrémités sont destinées à faciliter le transport du canot à la main.
Ces poignées ne doivent pas être utilisées pour xer le canot sur le toit d’un véhicule.
/ Veuillez vous assurer que le canot est xé adéquatement, que ce soit au toit
de la voiture ou à une remorque.
/ Avant le transport, retirez tous les accessoires pour éviter de les perdre ou
de les endommager.
VÉRIFICATIONS AVANT LA MISE À L’EAU
/ Toutes les personnes à bord portent un gilet de sauvetage homologué.
/ Il y a une / des rame(s) d’urgence à bord.
/ Il y a un nécessaire d’urgence à bord (extincteur, avertisseur sonore, trousse
de premiers soins, sifflet, etc.).
/ Moteur électrique et batterie sont en bon état de fonctionnement (si applicable).
/ Si vous utilisez un hors-bord à essence, xez-le toujours au canot en utilisant
un support destiné à cet effet (si applicable).
/ Toute charge est bien répartie.
/ Assurez-vous d’avoir une ligne d’attrape flottante d’une longueur minimal de 15m
(49pi 3po) et une écope ou pompe de cale manuelle (ou installations d’épuisement de cale).
PROCÉDURE DE MISE À L’EAU
/ Vériez que le matériel ayant servi à attacher le canot pour le transport a été retiré.
/ Assurez-vous de monter à bord en mettant le pied au centre du canot an de
s’assurer qu’il reste stable.
/ Ne mettez jamais le pied sur le plat-bord.
TRIM ADJUSTMENTS (SI APPLICABLE, CANOTS À BOUTS CARRÉS SEULEMENT)
/ Différentes charges peuvent nécessiter différents réglages de la ligne de flottaison.
Lorsque l’hélice se trouve très près de la plaque de support du moteur, cela porte
l’avant du canot à s’enfoncer dans l’eau à mesure que la vitesse augmente. Si l’avant
s’enfonce trop, déplacez une partie de la charge vers l’arrière et / ou éloignez l’hélice
de la plaque de support du moteur. À l’opposé, lorsque l’hélice se trouve loin de la
plaque de support du moteur, cela porte l’avant à sortir excessivement de l’eau à
mesure que la vitesse augmente.Dans ce cas, déplacez une partie de la charge vers
l’avant et / ou rapprochez l’hélice de la plaque de support du moteur.
/ La performance obtenue dépendra du rapport entre la répartition de la charge,
la ligne de flottaison et la puissance du moteur.
AMARRAGE
/ Amarrez toujours le canot à l’écart de pierres ou d’objets tranchants.
/ Assurez-vous que le moteur est en position levée (si applicable).
/ Amarrez toujours en eau sufsamment profonde pour éviter d’endommager
le fond du canot.
/ Ne l’amarrez jamais à un quai qui n’est pas doté de pare-chocs destinés à protéger
les côtés du canot.

Avant d’utiliser le canot, lisez les renseignements ci-dessous. Le fait de ne pas observer ces mesures
peut occasionner de graves blessures ou la mort. Les sports de pagaie peuvent s’avérer dangereux
et physiquement exigeants. La pratique de sports de pagaie peut vous exposer au risque de graves
blessures ou de mort. Vous devriez obtenir, d’une personne qualiée, une formation sur les techniques
adéquates de pagaie, de sécurité nautique et de premiers soins avant de pratiquer ce sport.

AVERTISSEMENT VÊTEMENT DE FLOTTAISON INDIVIDUEL (VFI)
Portez toujours un vêtement de flottaison individuel homologué par la garde côtière et par d’autres
instances gouvernementales. Lisez la documentation du fabricant du VFI et familiarisez-vous à fond sur
la façon de le porter avant de mettre votre canot à l’eau.
AVERTISSEMENT ALCOOL ET DROGUES
Ne consommez jamais d’alcool, de médicaments, ou toute autre substance pouvant nuire
à votre coordination, à votre jugement ou à votre capacité à vous servir de votre canot de manière
sûre et sécuritaire.
MISE EN GARDE AVERTISSEUR SONORE
Transportez un avertisseur sonore sur vous. La garde côtière et d’autres instances gouvernementales
requièrent que les plaisanciers soient équipés pour signaler leur présence aux autres embarcations.
Vous devriez donc toujours transporter un avertisseur sonore avec vous. Nous recommandons de
xer l’avertisseur sonore à votre vêtement de flottaison individuel.
AVERTISSEMENT NE PAS SE TENIR DEBOUT
Le fait de se tenir debout pourrait le faire chavirer. Aussi, dans la plupart des cas, il est beaucoup
plus dangereux de tenter de nager jusqu’à la rive que de rester avec l’embarcation.
AVERTISSEMENT CAPACITÉS
Ne dépassez jamais vos capacités. Consultez votre médecin avant de commencer ce sport de pagaie.
Évaluez votre résistance physique quant à la distance et au temps que vous pouvez pagayer ou de nager
de manière réaliste.
AVERTISSEMENT HYPOTHERMIE
Habillez-vous en fonction de la météo et portez une tenue de plongée au besoin. Les accidents en eau
froide représentent un danger réel. La perte de chaleur corporelle due à l’immersion en eau froide (hypothermie)
peut causer la mort. De façon générale, le temps de survie en eau froide est de 15 à 20 minutes.
MISE EN GARDE NE PARTEZ JAMAIS SEUL
Ne pagayez jamais seul. Soyez toujours accompagné au cas où vous auriez une urgence ou un accident.
Assurez-vous de connaître le niveau de capacité physique et toutes les conditions médicales pertinentes
de ceux qui pagaient avec vous. Aussi, avisez toujours quelqu’un de vos plans, de votre destination,
de la durée de votre excursion et du nombre de personnes qui vous accompagnent.

Sachez à quelles heures la navigation est permise, s’il y a des dangers qu’il faut connaître
et où obtenir de l’aide au cas où surviendrait une urgence ou un accident.
MISE EN GARDE RÈGLEMENTS ET LOIS
Respectez toujours l’ensemble des règlements de la garde côtière et les lois et règlements
des divers paliers de gouvernements (y compris régionaux) en matière de nautisme et
de sécurité. Consultez la garde côtière et les autorités gouvernementales au sujet du bon
maniement d’une embarcation et de l’équipement obligatoire et recommandé, tel que l’éclairage
et les avertisseurs sonores.
MISE EN GARDE SURFACE HUMIDE
Le matériau de coque est extrêmement glissant lorsque mouillé. Portez donc toujours
des chaussures à semelles antidérapantes et demeurez au centre de l’embarcation.
MISE EN GARDE MOTEUR (SI APPLICABLE)
N’utilisez jamais un moteur dont la cote dépasse celle indiquée sur l’étiquette.
Suivez les instructions qui accompagnent le moteur. Manipulez l’essence avec beaucoup
de précautions. Évitez toute manœuvre subite qui pourrait occasionner la perte de maîtrise,
faire chavirer le bateau ou faire tomber les passagers du bateau.
MISE EN GARDE CAPACITÉ DE CHARGES
Passez en revue les limites quant à la capacité de charge et de passagers. Assurez-vous
que la charge soit en-deça de ces limites. Aussi, la répartition du poids est nécessaire au
maintien de l’équilibre et à la performance. Chaque embarcation afche clairement une
étiquette au sujet de sa capacité.
MISE EN GARDE RAME(S) D’URGENCE
Ayez toujours à bord une rame ou une pagaie d’urgence.

ENTRETIEN
La meilleure façon de nettoyer votre canot est à l’aide d’un mélange de savon doux et d’eau tiède.
N’utilisez pas d’abrasifs. Le nettoyage périodique permettera à votre embarcation de conserver
son aspect neuf. Ne tentez jamais de peindre votre canot car la peinture n’adhérera pas à la coque.
Si le plat-bord d’aluminium s’est oxydé, nettoyez-le de temps en temps à l’aide d’un bon produit de
nettoyage / polissage pour aluminium.
ENTREPOSAGE
/ La meilleure façon d’entreposer votre canot est de l’asseoir sur une surface plane.
Ne l’entreposez jamais sur des tréteaux.
/ S’il se trouve en plein air, couvrez d’une bâche.
/ Ne laissez pas de sangles ou de cordes enroulées serrées autour de la coque du canot pendant
de longues périodes, particulièrement par temps chaud.
/ La surface de la coque, tout comme la nition extérieure d’une automobile, conservera mieux
son apparence si le canot n’est pas entreposé à long terme au soleil.
MISE EN GARDE
Le gravier et les petits cailloux ont tendance à s’accumuler sous le renfort de quille. À moins d’être retirés,
ces cailloux peuvent user la coque jusqu’à la percer. Aussi souvent que possible, renversez le canot sur le
côté et, en écartant le fond de la quille, nettoyez tout gravier ou caillou.
CANOT À BOUT CARRÉ
Il se peut que l’eau s’accumule entre la coque et le revêtement en raison de pagayage ou de pluie.
Il ne s’agit pas d’un défaut. Pour vider le canot, le basculer sur sa proue (avant).

Votre canot est fabriqué selon des normes rigoureuses de qualité et avec des
matériaux supérieurs. Avec un entretien adéquat, il vous donnera des années
d’usage able. Mais comme tout produit, de telles embarcations sont sujettes
à l’usure. Advenant le cas où vous ayez besoin de pièces, d’assistance technique
ou d’informations quant à un produit ou service, veuillez communiquer avec notre
service à la clientèle en ayant sous la main le modèle et le numéro de série (ZEP…)
du dit produit ainsi que la date et le lieu de l’achat. Pour toutes demandes de
garanties, consultez la section sur les procédures de garanties.
Pelican International inc. offre une garantie limitée de deux ans (2 ans) contre l
es défauts de matériaux et de fabrication sur la coque de tous ses canots.
Les composantes et les accessoires inclus à l’achat du produit sont garantis
contre les défauts de fabrication et de matériaux pour une période d’un (1) an
à compter de la date d’achat.
La garantie de Pelican International inc. n’est valide que si le produit sert à l’usage
pour lequel il a été conçu et n’est applicable qu’à l’acheteur original du produit

/ Aux changements de l’aspect de l’embarcation en raison d’usure, d’exposition
sans limites ou de toutes autres conditions environnementales.
/ À l’usure due à une utilisation normale.
/ Aux produits achetés « tels quel », modèles de plancher, démos, et prototypes.

embarcation neuve est en mauvais état, veuillez communiquer
avec Pelican International inc. pour résoudre le problème.

aux incendies, aux températures extrêmes, à toute autre utilisation de

convenance à une n donnée), à l’exception de celles qui sont spéciquement incluses
dans la présente garantie.

Les garanties implicites se limitent à la durée de vie de la présente garantie. Certains
