MATERIALS/MANUFACTURING
Your pedal boat is made of Ram-X™. Its great flexibility offers exceptional
shock resistance. This flexibility increases with heat or with the craft’s
prolonged exposure to the sun but may also slightly warp the hull. The warping
disappears when the hull cools and never affects the craft’s performance.
Ram-X™ is a superior material that was developed and registered in 1978. It quickly became the
benchmark of quality in the industry thanks to its shock resistance and ability to regain its initial
shape following an impact. Widely hailed by consumers, Ram-X™ is a step above other materials
used in the industry.
ABOUT YOUR PEDAL BOAT
/ There is a capacity sticker on every pedal boat. These capacity ratings should be respected
at all times for your safety and security.
/ Sturdy polystyrene foam blocks are located between the hulls for optimum safety.
/ Do not remove foam blocks as they are for extra flotation. Water-resistant bushings,
made of aeronautical acetal, are completely self-lubricating and maintenance free.
/ Exclusive, very wide, ve-bladed high-tech polymer paddle wheels are used for greater traction
and smooth, quiet propulsion. Clip-on, rib–reinforced, injection molded paddles are highly
resistant to impact and wear, and easily replaceable.
/ Unique 90° crankshaft design makes pedaling smooth and efcient for both riders.
The crankshaft is pre-treated with a zinc phosphatization, then electrostatically pulverized with
a special polyester powder which is highly resistant to UV rays and other weather conditions.
/ The steering linkage system is located under the hull and is protected by the two (2) pontoons.
An exclusive sealed trough hull aluminum steering mechanism allows easy maintenance if
required, and avoids water inltration.
/ Our pedal boats are not recommended for salt water usage.
TRANSPORTATION
The carrying handles at both ends help in the transportation of the pedal boat by hand.
These handles should not be used to fasten the pedal boat to a vehicle.
/ Do not use handles to secure pedal boat for transport.
/ If your pedal boat is equipped with adjustable seat backs and cooler lid(s),
you should remove them before transporting, to avoid loss or damage.
PRELAUNCH CHECKLIST
/ Remove the tape holding the rudder in an upright position and allow the rudder
to move down to its lower position.
/ Check that the drain plug at the bow of the pedal boat is securely in place before placing
the boat in the water.
/ Check that the cranks turn freely and are not obstructed by weeds.
/ Check that all accessories are properly installed.
/ All passengers must wear an approved Personal Flotation Device (PFD). Insist that children
wear a certied Personal Flotation Device that is the right size.
/ Always have one buoyant heaving line at least 15 m (49 ft. 3 in.) long and one bailer
or manual bilge pump (or bilge-pumping arrangements).
/ Ensure that the boat has navigation lights if it is operated after sunset, before sunrise
or during periods of restricted visibility.
LAUNCHING YOUR PEDAL BOAT
/ Make sure that all the material used to fasten the pedal boat during transportation is removed.
/ If one person is launching, pull with the stern lifted.
/ Never drag over rocks or sharp objects as this could damage hull rudder or rudder post.
/ Verify shore conditions before placing unit in water to avoid damaging the hull with foreign objects.
/ Always step into the footwell area in the front of the boat when boarding.
/ Always wear a certied Personal Flotation Device.
MOORING/DOCKING
/ Always moor pedal boat away from rocks or sharp objects.
/ Make sure that the motor is raised before mooring (if applicable).
/ Always moor your pedal boat in water that is deep enough so that the bottom hull does
not get damaged.
/ Never moor pedal boat against a dock without proper protection (bumpers) for
the sides of the hull.

We suggest that you read the information below before using the pedal boat.
Failure to follow the warnings / precautions below may lead to serious injury or death.
WARNING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND WATER LEVELS
Check the weather and water conditions before you go boating. Your pedal boat is designed to be
used only in sheltered waters, lakes, and slow moving streams. It is not designed for whitewater use.
Never go paddling in severe winds, rain, thunderstorms, choppy waters, strong currents, flood waters,
or where tides will seriously affect your ability to steer the pedal boat or return to shore.
WARNING PERSONAL FLOTATION DEVICE (PFD)
Before going boating, read the PFD manufacturer’s information pamphlet regarding the PFD and
thoroughly familiarize yourself with how the PFD is to be worn.
WARNING ALCOHOL AND DRUGS
Never use or consume alcohol, drugs or any other mind altering substance that may affect your
coordination, judgment or ability to safely and securely operate your pedal boat.
CAUTION SOUND-SIGNALLING DEVICE
The Coast Guard requires boaters to have a means of signaling other boaters of their presence. You
should keep a sound device in the boat with you at all times. If possible, attach the sound device to
your Personal Flotation Device.
WARNING STANDING UP IN THE PEDAL BOAT
Standing up in the pedal boat may cause it to capsize. If the boat should capsize, please note that,
in most cases, it is far more dangerous to attempt to swim to shore than to stay with the boat.
WARNING ABILITY
Know your limits. Consult your physician before beginning your pedal boat training. Realistically assess
your physical condition to determine how far and how long you can paddle or swim. If unsure, start your trip
by paddling against the current so the return trip with the current is easier.
WARNING HYPOTHERMIA
Dress properly for weather conditions and wear a wetsuit if necessary. Pedal boat accidents in cold
water are very dangerous. The loss of body heat due to immersion in cold water (hypothermia) can be fatal.
Survival time in cold water can be as little as 15 to 20 minutes.
CAUTION BE ACCOMPANIED
Always go boating with someone. It is preferable to be accompanied in case of an emergency or accident.
Always let someone know about your plan, including your destination, how long you will be gone, and how
many people will be with you.
WARNING ALWAYS FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH
THE BODY OF WATER YOU INTEND TO NAVIGATE
Learn what hours boating is permitted, whether there are any known hazardous conditions
and where you can get help quickly in case of emergency or accident
CAUTION REGULATIONS AND LAWS
Always follow Coast Guard regulations, boating and safety laws, and regulations and orders
of various levels of government (including regional).Consult the Coast Guard and government
authorities on the proper handling of a canoe and the required safety equipment such as lighting
and sound alarms.
CAUTION SLIPPERY WHEN WET
The hull material is extremely slick when wet. Always wear slip-resistant shoes.
CAUTION DRAIN PLUGS
Check that the drain plug of the pedal boat is securely in place before launching the boat.
You should drain the space between the deck and the hull of any water accumulated
through condensation or seepage.
CAUTION WEIGHT CAPACITY
Review the passenger and weight capacity limitations. Ensure the loading will be
within these limits. Proper distribution of weight is necessary to ensure proper balance
(trim) and performance. Each boat has capacity tag clearly displayed on the craft.
CAUTION EMERGENCY PADDLE(S)
Always bring an emergency paddle or oar on board.
WARNING
NEVER let minors use this pedal boat without adult supervision.
WARNING WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION
Always ensure that the load on your kayak is evenly distributed to ensure optimal
performance and to prevent accidental capsizing.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
The best way to clean your pedal boat is to wash it with lukewarm water and mild soap. Do not use
harsh abrasives. Regular cleaning will keep your pedal boat looking like new. Never attempt to paint
the pedal boat because it will not stick to the hull.
/ Caution must be used if you decide to use a pressure washer to clean your pedal boat.
/ Never use the pressure washer inside your pedal boat as it could damage accessories and stickers.
/ Only use a pressure washer on the hull below the water line.
/ Always use widest setting on the jet spray.
STORAGE
SHORT TERM
/ Pelican offers a mooring cover to protect your pedal boat from all types of weather conditions.
/ The drain plugs at the bow of the pedal boat should be removed periodically in order to allow
any water accumulation caused by condensation to be evacuated. To drain: remove the drain plug
and stand the pedal boat on its bow.
LONG TERM
/ To store your pedal boat for long periods of time, remove the drain plugs and stand the pedal boat
on its bow to remove any water accumulation.
/ Set the pedal boat right side up on the ground with a mooring cover.
/ Avoid placing heavy objects on the pedal boat. If this should happen and the plastic is bent due
to the pressure, place the boat in the sun and the RAM-X™ will return to its original shape.
/ Never store a pedal boat on sawhorses.
/ Avoid prolonged or unnecessary exposure to the sun, as this may damage the pedal boat’s nish.

Your pedal boat is built with superior materials and in accordance to stringent
quality standards. With adequate maintenance, they will give you years
of reliable use. But as with most products, they are subject to wear and tear.
If you eventually need replacement parts, technical assistance or product /
service information, please contact our Customer Service Department having
ready at hand the product’s model name as well as the date and place of
purchase along with proof of purchase. For any warranty claim, please consult
the section Warranty Claim Procedure.
Pelican International Inc. offers a 4-year limited warranty against defects in
materials and workmanship on the deck and hull from the date of purchase.
Product component parts and accessories included at time of purchase are
warranted for a period of one year (1 year) from the date of purchase against
defects in workmanship and / or materials. A proof of purchase will be required.
Pelican International Inc.’s warranty is valid only if the product is used for its
intended purposes and for which it was designed and only extends to original
purchaser (is non-transferable).
THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER:
/ Pedal boats used for rental or other commercial use
/ Products used that have been damaged by negligence, misuse or accident,
or wear due to owner’s failure to provide reasonable and necessary maintenance
/ Products which have been modied or repaired by unauthorized persons
/ Change in appearance of product due to wear, unlimited exposure or any other
environmental condition
/ Products sold as “demos” or “as is” conditions, prototypes or floor models.
/ Normal wear and tear
If upon unwrapping, you discover your new product
is damaged and not in good condition, please contact
Pelican International Inc. as soon as possible to resolve
the problem. For any warranty claim, please consult
the section Warranty Claim Procedure.
*** We are not responsible for damage or defects once the product has been
used. Damage is dened as impact with any object or material, damage due to
dropping, loading, unloading, or transport, alterations or modications, repairs,
natural disasters, res, extreme temperatures, and any further use of a pedal boat
once a claim has been reported.
We strongly recommend you register your warranty to help us get in touch with you
if any situation arise where we would need to establish contact. Your warranty can
be registered directly on our website www.pelicansport.com or in the mail by using
the warranty card provided in the owner manual of your product.
This warranty is the sole and exclusive warranty by Pelican International Inc. in
connection with its above mentioned products and Pelican International Inc. makes
no warranties or representations, expressed or implied (including warranties of
merchantability and of tness for a particular purpose) in such connection except as
specically set in this warranty.
All incidental and/or consequential damages are excluded from this warranty.
Implied warranties are limited to the life of this warranty. Some states do not allow
limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts or the exclusion or limitation of
incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not
apply to you. This warranty gives you special legal rights, and you may also have other
legal rights which may vary from state to state.

MATÉRIAU / FABRICATION
Le Ram-X
MC
dont est fabriqué votre embarcation à pédales est d’une grande
résistance aux chocs grâce à sa flexibilité. Cette flexibilité s’accroît avec la
chaleur et l’exposition prolongée de l’embarcation au soleil peut entraîner la formation
de légères ondulations sur la coque. Dans cette éventualité, elles disparaîtront une fois la
coque refroidie. Mais dans aucun cas elles ne nuiront à la performance de l’embarcation.
Le Ram-X
MC
est un matériau de qualité supérieure, conçu et enregistré en 1978. Il est rapidement
devenu le symbole de qualité de l’industrie en ce qui a trait à la résistance aux chocs et à la capacité
à reprendre sa forme originale après un impact. Largement apprécié par les consommateurs,
le Ram-X
MC
se différencie de tous les autres matériaux utilisés dans l’industrie.
À PROPOS DE VOTRE EMBARCATION
/ Chaque embarcation comprend un autocollant spéciant sa capacité. Pour votre sécurité, ces limites de
capacité doivent être observées en tout temps.
/ De solides blocs de mousse de polystyrène se trouvent entre les coques pour offrir une sécurité optimale.
Ne pas les enlever puisqu’ils offrent une meilleure flottaison. Aussi, les bagues résistantes à l’eau,
fabriquées d’acétal de qualité aéronautique, sont entièrement autolubriantes et sans besoin d’entretien.
/ Ce sont des roues exclusives à 5 pales larges, fabriquées de polymère de haute technologie,
qui permettent d’offrir une propulsion sans pareil, silencieuse et sans heurt. Les pales à enclenchement,
moulées par injection et renforcées par des nervures, sont très résistantes aux impacts ainsi qu’à l’usure
et elles se remplacent facilement.
/ La conception unique à 90° du pédalier assure la douceur et l’efcacité du pédalage pour les deux usagers.
De plus, le pédalier a subi un traitement de phosphatation au zinc puis de pulvérisation électrostatique
d’une poudre spéciale qui le rend très résistant aux rayons UV et à d’autres conditions météorologiques.
/ Le système de direction se situe sous la coque et se trouve ainsi protégé par les 2 flotteurs.
Son mécanisme exclusif en aluminium est scellé au travers de la coque et facilite l’entretien lorsqu’il est
requis, tout en empêchant l’inltration de l’eau.
/ Il n’est pas recommandé d’utiliser nos embarcations à pédales dans l’eau salée.
TRANSPORT
Les poignées situées aux extrémités sont destinées à faciliter le transport de l’embarcation à la
main. Ces poignées ne doivent pas être utilisées pour xer l’embarcation lors du transport.
/ Si votre embarcation est équipée de dossiers, de sièges réglables et de couvercle(s)
de glacière, retirez-les avant le transport pour éviter de les perdre ou de les endommager.
VÉRIFICATIONS AVANT LA MISE À L’EAU
/ Vériez que le ruban qui retient le gouvernail en position levée a été retiré et permettez
au gouvernail de descendre à sa position abaissée.
/ Vériez que le bouchon de drain situé à l’avant de l’embarcation est fermement en place
avant de la mettre à l’eau.
/ Vériez que le pédalier tourne librement et qu’il n’est pas entravé par des algues.
/ Vériez que tous les accessoires sont correctement installés.
/ Vériez que toutes les personnes à bord portent un gilet de sauvetage homologué. Insistez
pour que les enfants portent un gilet de sauvetage homologué qui soit de la bonne taille.
/ Assurez-vous d’avoir une ligne d’attrape flottante d’une longueur minimale de 15 m
(49 pi 3 po) et une écope ou pompe de cale manuelle (ou installations d’épuisement de cale).
/ Assurez-vous d’avoir des feux de navigation si l’embarcation est utilisée après
le coucher du soleil, avant le lever du soleil ou lorsque la visibilité est limitée.
PROCÉDURE DE MISE À L’EAU
/ Vériez que le matériel ayant servi à attacher l’embarcation pour le transport a été retiré.

ces mesures peut occasionner de graves blessures ou la mort.
AVERTISSEMENT CONDITIONS DE LA MÉTÉO ET DU PLAN D’EAU
Vériez les conditions de la météo et du plan d’eau avant d’aller naviguer. Votre embarcation à pédales
est conçue strictement pour l’utilisation sur des plans d’eau abrités, sur des lacs et sur des cours d’eau
calmes. Elle n’est pas conçue pour l’utilisation en eau vive. Ne naviguez jamais par des conditions de vent
violent, de pluie, d’orage, de houle ou de fort courant ni là où les marées peuvent affecter votre capacité à diriger
l’embarcation ou à revenir à terre.
AVERTISSEMENT VÊTEMENT DE FLOTTAISON INDIVIDUEL (VFI)
Portez toujours un vêtement de flottaison individuel homologué par la garde côtière et par d’autres
instances gouvernementales. Lisez la documentation du fabricant du VFI et familiarisez-vous à fond sur
la façon de le porter avant de mettre votre embarcation à pédales à l’eau.
AVERTISSEMENT ALCOOL ET DROGUES
Ne consommez jamais d’alcool, de médicaments, ou toute autre substance pouvant nuire à votre
coordination, à votre jugement ou à votre capacité à vous servir de votre embarcation à pédales de
manière sûre et sécuritaire.
MISE EN GARDE AVERTISSEUR SONORE
Transportez un avertisseur sonore sur vous. La garde côtière et d’autres instances gouvernementales
requièrent que les plaisanciers soient équipés pour signaler leur présence aux autres embarcations.
Vous devriez donc toujours transporter un avertisseur sonore avec vous. Nous recommandons de
xer l’avertisseur sonore à votre vêtement de flottaison individuel.
AVERTISSEMENT NE PAS SE TENIR DEBOUT
Le fait de se tenir debout pourrait le faire chavirer. Aussi, dans la plupart des cas, il est beaucoup
plus dangereux de tenter de nager jusqu’à la rive que de rester avec l’embarcation.
AVERTISSEMENT CAPACITÉS
Ne dépassez jamais vos capacités. Évaluez votre résistance physique quant à la distance et au temps que
vous pouvez pagayer ou de nager de manière réaliste.
AVERTISSEMENT HYPOTHERMIE
Habillez-vous en fonction de la météo et portez une tenue de plongée au besoin. Les accidents en eau
froide représentent un danger réel. La perte de chaleur corporelle due à l’immersion en eau froide (hypothermie)
peut causer la mort. De façon générale, le temps de survie en eau froide est de 15 à 20 minutes.
MISE EN GARDE NE PARTEZ JAMAIS SEUL
Soyez toujours accompagné au cas où vous auriez une urgence ou un accident. Avisez toujours
quelqu’un de vos plans, de votre destination, de la durée de votre excursion et du nombre de personnes
qui vous accompagnent.

MISE EN GARDE RÈGLEMENTS ET LOIS
Respectez toujours l’ensemble des règlements de la garde côtière et les lois et règlements
des divers paliers de gouvernements (y compris régionaux) en matière de nautisme et
de sécurité. Consultez la garde côtière et les autorités gouvernementales au sujet du bon
maniement d’une embarcation et de l’équipement obligatoire et recommandé, tel que l’éclairage
et les avertisseurs sonores.
MISE EN GARDE SURFACE HUMIDE
Le matériau de coque est extrêmement glissant lorsque mouillé. Portez donc toujours
des chaussures à semelles antidérapantes.
MISE EN GARDE BOUCHON DE DRAIN
Vériez que le bouchon de drain situé à l’avant de l’embarcation est fermement en place
avant de mettre cette dernière à l’eau. Il se peut que vous ayez à vider l’eau qui se serait
accumulée, en raison de la condensation ou de fuites, entre le pont et la coque.
MISE EN GARDE CAPACITÉ DE CHARGES
Passez en revue les limites quant à la capacité de charge et de passagers. Assurez-vous
que la charge soit en-deça de ces limites. Aussi, la répartition du poids est nécessaire au
maintien de l’équilibre et à la performance. Chaque embarcation afche clairement une
étiquette au sujet de sa capacité.
MISE EN GARDE RAME(S) D’URGENCE
Ayez toujours à bord une rame ou une pagaie d’urgence.

ENTRETIEN
La meilleure façon de nettoyer votre embarcation à pédales est à l’aide d’un mélange de savon doux
et d’eau tiède. N’utilisez pas d’abrasifs. Le nettoyage périodique permettera à votre embarcation de
conserver son aspect neuf. Ne tentez jamais de peindre votre embarcation à pédales car la peinture
n’adhérera pas à la coque.
ENTREPOSAGE
COURT TERME
/ Pelican offre une housse d’amarrage qui protège votre embarcation de tous les types de
conditions météorologiques.
/ Le bouchon de drain, situé à la proue (c’est-à-dire à l’avant) de l’embarcation, doit être retiré
périodiquement an de permettre à toute accumulation d’eau, due à la condensation, de
s’échapper. Pour vider votre embarcation: retirez le bouchon de drain et basculez verticalement
l’embarcation sur sa proue.
LONG TERME
/ Pour entreposer votre embarcation pour de longues périodes, retirez le bouchon de drain
et basculez verticalement l’embarcation sur sa proue pour faire la vidange d’eau.
/ Entreposez l’embarcation à l’endroit sur un terrain plat recouvert d’une housse d’amarrage
ou d’une bâche.
/ Évitez de placer des objets lourds sur l’embarcation. Advenant que cela se produise et que le
plastique se plie sous la pression, placez l’embarcation au soleil et le polyéthylène reprendra sa
forme originale.
/ N’entreposez jamais l’embarcation sur des tréteaux.
/ Évitez, le plus possible, l’exposition prolongée au soleil qui pourrait endommager l’aspect
de l’embarcation.
