To Remove a Damaged Latch Assembly:
1. Push the blades of two large at-blade
screwdrivers (B) between the parts as shown.
2. Twist both screwdrivers at the same time to
force the blades into opening and work the
latch assembly (A) over the two locking tabs
(C).
To Install a New Latch Assembly:
1. Put the latch assembly (A) on the locking
tabs (C) with the two top lugs not fully
engaged in the 'catch cavity' of main housing.
2. Engage the latch bar onto the lid and
carefully push the latch lever to slide the
assembly over the two locking tabs (C) and
into position.
NOTICE: This removal and installation process is
the same with other service latches oered in this
system.
To Remove the Handle Pin:
1. Put a at-blade screwdriver
between the handle and the
casing (A) and push the pin to
the inside.
2. Use a needle-nose pliers to grab
and pull the pin (B) out.
