Note:
Please read these instructions carefully before installing and using the Shutoff Valve Controller.
Follow all local plumbing and water supplier regulations regarding the installation or replacement of water
valves. An authorized, qualified installer may be required.
Only use the power supply adapter that came with the device.
Make sure the area around the device is clear and will not interfere with the movement of the valve handle.
Maximum torque of the SC906ZB is 65in-lb, torque requirements vary from valve to valve. Some
valves may require torque in excess of 65in-lb and will not operate.
A radio repeater may be required due to the location of the valve.
The manufacturer accepts no responsibility for damage caused by not following these instructions.

CONTROLS AND INDICATORS

PAIRING INSTRUCTIONS
Follow your connected home instructions to prepare
to add devices to the system
Plug in the power adapter to power up the device
When the device is detected and added to the system, proceed to device installation
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION
Identify the location for the Shutoff Valve Controller (SVC) depending on the desired water
valve to be controlled. Make sure of the following:

Location is accessible and allows operation of the valve coupler arm
o
The pivot point of the SVC Coupler must be positioned directly over the pivot point
of the ball valve handle
Remove the ball valve T-handle
Insert the appropriate Valve Coupler (¾ or 1”) in the Valve Coupler Arm
Choose the appropriate pipe clamp adaptor and place around the pipe
Press the pipe adaptor onto the pipe
Adjust the alignment of the SVC so it is directly over the ball valve handle
Tighten the SVC pipe clamp around the pipe adaptor
Position the SCV Valve Stem Coupler directly
over the valve stem and ensure the coupler is
properly engaged
Adjust the pipe clamp height using the hex
bolt on the back of the pipe clamp bracket
Once attached to the pipe, apply power as
follows:
Remove waterproof plug from power jack
Insert barrel plug from power adapter into
power jack
Run power cable to AC outlet, using cable
clips as required
Plug the power adaptor into AC outlet
Open and close the valve via the connected
home system to verify that the radio signals can
be received. A radio repeater may be required if
the signal is weak.
FACTORY RESETTING THE DEVICE
Press the Multi-Function Button down and power up the device by plugging in the
power adapter.
Release the button when the Status LED turns solid green. The device will now
respond to pairing requests.
OPENING/CLOSING THE VALVE AT THE DEVICE
When remote control of the valve is not convenient, the valve can be opened or closed at the
valve by pressing the Multi-Function button. Depending on the state of the device, the
following actions will occur

MANUAL OVERRIDE
If power is lost, the valve can be manually
opened and closed as follows:
Press and hold down the

to re-engage the motor

SALUS North America, Inc. (“Salus”) warrants that for a period of five (5) years
(“Warranty Period”) from the date of purchase by the consumer (“Customer”), this
device, excluding batteries (“Product”), shall be free of defects in materials and
workmanship under normal use and service in accordance with all supplied
instructions. During the warranty period, Salus shall, at its option, repair or replace
any defective Products, at no charge for the device. Any replacement and/or
repaired devices are warranted for the remainder of the original Warranty Period
or ninety (90) days, whichever is longer.
This warranty does not cover removal or reinstallation costs. This warranty does not
apply to any Product (i) which has been modified, repaired, or altered, except by
Salus or an authorized Salus representative, (ii) which has not been maintained in
accordance with any handling or operating instructions supplied by Salus, or (iii)
which has been subjected to unusual physical or electrical stress, misuses, abuse,
negligence or accidents.
This warranty is the only express warranty Salus makes for the Product. Any implied
warranties, including warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular
purpose, are limited to the Warranty Period or the shortest period allowed by

Customer’s sole and exclusive remedy under this limited warranty is product repair
or replacement as provided herein. If a Product under warranty is defective, the
Customer may:
contact the party (“Seller”) from which the Customer purchased the Product to
obtain an equivalent replacement product after the Seller has determined that
the Product is defective and the Customer is eligible for a replacement, or
contact Salus Service at support@salusinc.com, to determine whether the device
qualifies for a replacement. If a replacement is warranted and is shipped prior to
the return of the device under warranty, a credit card is required and a hold may
be placed on the Customer’s credit card for the value of the replacement until
the returned device is verified as eligible for replacement, in which case, the
Customer’s credit card will not be charged.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that
