279838 Dryer heating element kit
WARRNING: Disconnect all power before servicing. Replace all panels before operating.
Failure to do so can result in electrical shock or death.
NOTE: To be used on 29” and 27” electric dryers ONLY.
1.Remove the failed thermostat.
2.After bending the tab that holds the thermostat out of the way, use two screws to install the
new thermostat, 3390291.
3.Attach one end of the jumper wire to thermostat and other end to the element. Red wire with
5/16” terminal is to be used as the jumper wire that runs to t-stat.
If the terminal connects to the thermostat by a 3/16” terminal, then one end of the jumper wire
must be cut off. Crimp onto the jumper wire the male/female combination terminal. Attach this
male female combination terminal to the thermostat. Remove the 3/16” terminal from the wire
harness, and crimp the supplied 1/4” female terminal onto the wire. Attach that wire to the
male/female combination terminal.
