SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS &
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
WARNING: This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the
other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a
polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse
the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to

button(s) to turn on one or both sides of the control panel. Check to
ensure the crumb trays are pushed all the way in.

How to Use the Toaster
Settings and Special Features
The toaster has 4 buttons available and a special anti-jam safety feature that
automatically kicks in if food gets stuck in the toaster.
BAGEL: Use for bagels, English muffins, or sandwich rolls. For best results,
insert food into the toaster with the cut side facing out. This way, the
toaster applies more heat to the cut side, creating a golden-brown,
crunchy cut side and soft, chewy outside.
FROZEN: Use for frozen foods like frozen bread, waffles, pancakes, or
toaster pastries. This setting defrosts and toasts simultaneously by
increasing the toasting time for each shade.
+10 SECONDS: Press to add 10 seconds to toasting time. This function
ensures that you get the exact toast shade you like, even if it falls between
two of the preset shade settings.
EJECT: Use to stop toasting at any time. When the button is pressed, food
will automatically pop up. When toasting is resumed, the timer will restart
from its initial time.
Anti-Jam Safety Feature: The toaster is equipped with an anti-jam
feature. If food gets stuck in the toaster, the unit will automatically
power off. Unplug the unit, remove the food, and plug the unit back in to
continue toasting.

Toasting Tips
Do NOT put buttered bread or pastries with frosting into the toaster, as this
can create a fire hazard.
Never force food into the slots. Food should lower smoothly when the lever
is pressed down or it could get stuck.
Do NOT overcrowd the toasting slots or overlap foods within the slots.
Each slot is designed to hold 1 piece of standard bread or 1 toaster
product. Overcrowding or overlapping can cause food to burn or
toast unevenly.
Load bagels with cut sides facing out when using BAGEL mode. This way,
the cut sides get more heat, ensuring bagels are toasted to crisp-chewy
perfection.
If toasting a single slice, choose one shade lighter than desired, to help
prevent overbrowning.
If toasting two slices, we recommend toasting both on the same side of
the toaster.
If using fresh or very thick bread, try choosing a darker shade. Moisture in
bread slows down toasting, so a longer toast time is required to achieve
the same shade. For drier or thinner bread, choose a lighter shade.
Make quick and easy croutons by toasting your desired bread on a higher
setting, then crumbling it over salad or soup.
Choose thicker slices of gluten-free bread to toast. Store-bought gluten-
free bread tends to be thin and crumble easily, making it difficult to
evenly toast and keep in one piece. When shopping for gluten-free bread
to toast, choose thicker slices with sturdier crusts.
When toasting raisin bread or other fruit breads, remove loose fruit from
the surface of the bread before toasting. This will prevent fruit pieces from
sticking to the insides of the toasting slots.

My food is not
burned, but a
burning smell is
coming from
the toaster.
Crumbs can collect in the crumb
tray and burn during subsequent
toasting cycles.
Refer to Keep It Clean on p. 15 for
how to remove and clean the
crumb tray to prevent a buildup
of crumbs. If emptying the crumb
tray doesn’t fix the problem, let the
toaster cool completely, then turn
it upside down and gently shake
over a trash bin to remove any
excess crumbs.
My bread has
fallen apart and
crumbled inside
the toaster. How do
I remove it?
Thin slices, quick breads, and gluten-
free breads can crumble easily.
Never insert metal utensils or forks
into the toaster. Unplug the toaster
and turn it upside down over the
counter or sink. If the entire piece
does not come out, raise and lower
the lever a few times.

Keep It Clean
Your toaster requires very little maintenance besides the regular removal of
crumbs, making it super easy to clean.
1. Unplug the toaster and cool completely.
2. Gently wipe down the exterior with a damp cloth or paper towel, if
necessary. CAUTION: Never immerse the toaster, cord, or plug in water or
any other liquid; do not use scouring pads or abrasive cleaners, as they
can damage the finish.
3. Remove and clean the crumb tray periodically to avoid the buildup of
crumbs. Pull the crumb tray out from its position at the bottom back
of the toaster. Wash with a sponge and warm, soapy water and dry
completely. The crumb tray is NOT dishwasher safe. Be sure to push the
crumb tray all the way back inside the bottom of the toaster before the
next use.
4. Wrap the cord through its compartment underneath the toaster
before storing.
