1. Intended Use
These axle stands, feature ratchet adjustment which
prevents accidental release of the load - the more weight
applied, the tighter the post is locked. Sold in pairs.
Any other application beyond the conditions established
for use will be considered misuse. Draper Tools accepts
no responsibility for improper use of this product.

3. Health and Safety Information
Important: Read all the Health and Safety instructions
before attempting to operate, maintain or repair this
product. Failure to follow these instructions may result in
injury or damage to the user, the product or the vehicle.
WARNING!
DO NOT OVERLOAD AXLE STANDS BEYOND
RATED CAPACITY. OVERLOADING CAN
CAUSE DAMAGE TO, OR FAILURE OF,
THE AXLE STANDS.
Position load on centre of saddle only.
ALWAYS USE STANDS IN PAIRS on hard level
surface e.g. concrete, capable of sustaining the
load. Use of stands on other than hard level
surfaces can result in load instability and possible
loss of load.
• Use only as specied by the manufacturer.
• ALWAYS use in pairs on the same axle and at the
same height.
• DO NOT use stands simultaneously to support both
ends or one side of the vehicle.
• DO NOT exceed the maximum capacity marked on
each axle stand.
• Upper and lower columns are to be used only as
pair provided.
• Secure wheels with chocks in contact with ground.
Apply the vehicle’s handbrake (for automatics put
in ‘Park’).
• Ensure each stand is securely located.
• Exercise extra care when using with a three wheeled
vehicle or trailer.
• DO NOT modify or make any alterations to the stands.
DANGER! Take extremely caution to ensure
the vehicle or other load is slowly and
carefully lowered onto the centre of each axle
stand saddle.
• Ensure that each stand is securely located under a
strong point on the vehicle; consult the vehicle
manufacturer’s handbook for guidance.
• Ensure that height adjust locking mechanism is fully
located before applying any load to the axle stand.
• Check that the axles and vehicle are stable and
correctly supported and cannot move before
commencing any work.
• Inspect the axle stands before each use. DO NOT use
if they show signs of damage or if they may have
been overloaded.
• Replace any warning or instruction labels on the axle
stand should they become illegible.
• DO NOT use axle stands on the highway, or anywhere
else if it is deemed to be unsafe.
• DO NOT push or twist the vehicle/load whilst it is
supported on stands.
• DO NOT allow children or animals in the vicinity of a
vehicle supported on axle stands.
• DO NOT leave a vehicle on axle stands in an area that
could be considered a hazard to others or property.
• Ensure a minimum clearance of 25mm between
the bottom of the column and its lowest setting and
the ground.

5. Assembly

1. Insert the centre column (2) into the base frame (5).
2. Ensure the side of the column with the teeth engages
with the locking handle.
3. Use a hammer and punch to bend the locking tab (3)
in after inserting the columns to secure in place.
6. Using the Axle
1. Refer to the vehicle manufacturer’s instruction
manual for the recommended jacking/support points.
2. Check to ensure jacking/support points are in
good condition. Position the stands beneath the
support points.
3. Adjust the stand height by holding the locking handle
and lifting the column to the required height.
Then push the locking handle down to lock in place.
4. Carefully and slowly lower the vehicle onto the stands
ensuring the load bearing point sits in the centre of
the saddles. Check the stands are stable.
• Always ensure that no persons or objects are in the
way before lowering the vehicles onto the stands.
• Follow the illustrations for safe usage on the side of
the axle base (see Fig.2).

7. Maintenance, Storage and Disposal
• Before each use, check that stands and stand welds
are not cracked and that there are no missing or
damaged parts. Any suspect axle stands must be
removed from service immediately.
• Due to the potential hazards associated with axle
stands, DO NOT misuse, or make any modication to,
the stands or components.
• It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure that the
operator has read these instructions together with
the safety illustrations on the side of the stand
and that the operator is aware of the stand uses
and limitations.
• Store the stands in a safe, dry and childproof location.
• At the end of its working life, dispose of the product
responsibly and in line with local regulations.
Recycle where possible.
