Read these instructions carefully and retain
for future reference.
• This appliance can be used by children
aged from 8 years and above and persons
with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, if they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning the
use of the appliance in a safe way and
understand the hazards involved.
• Children shall not play with the appliance.
• Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be
made by children without supervision.
• If the mains cable is damaged, it must be
replaced by the manufacturer, it’s service
agent or similarly qualied person in order
to avoid a hazard.
• WARNING: Do not open the lid whilst the
water is boiling.
• WARNING: Misuse of appliance could cause

LOCATION
• Always locate your appliance away
from the edge of the worktop.
• Ensure that the appliance is used
on a rm, flat surface.
• Do not use the appliance outdoors
or near water.
• WARNING: Do not place the
appliance onto a metal tray or
metal surface whilst in use.
MAINS CABLE
• Do not let the mains cable hang
over the edge of the worktop
where a child could reach it.
• Do not let the mains cable
run across an open space e.g.
between a low socket and a table.
• Do not let the mains cable run
across a cooker or other hot area
which might damage the cable.
• The mains cable should reach
from the socket to the base unit
without straining the connections.
PERSONAL SAFETY
• Always keep the top of the
cordless base dry, especially
around the connection area,
disconnect the power supply
before drying. Allow to dry
thoroughly before reconnection
to the power supply.
• Do not ll above the MAX mark,
otherwise boiling water may be
ejected.
• Always pour hot water slowly
and carefully without tipping the
appliance too fast to prevent
splashing and spillage.
• Do not hold the switch in the
on position or tamper with the
switch to x it in the on position
as this may cause damage to the
switch-o mechanism.
• Do not move the kettle while
switched on.
OTHER SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS
• The use of attachments or tools
not recommended or sold by
Morphy Richards, may cause re,
electric shock or injury.
• The kettle is only to be used with
the stand provided.
• Do not use the appliance for any
use other than to boil water.
• The appliance must not be on the
base unit when being lled with
water.
• Unplug from the outlet when not
in use.
• WARNING: The appliance must
not be immersed for cleaning.

• Check that the voltage on the rating plate of your appliance
corresponds with your house electricity supply which must be A.C.
(Alternating Current).
• Should the fuse in the mains plug require changing, replace it with a
fuse of the same rating as originally tted.
• The power consumption in o mode is 0W.
• When the appliance is not working, it enters the o mode immediately
(0 min).
• WARNING: This appliance must be earthed.

BEFORE FIRST USE
USING YOUR KETTLE
DRY BOIL FUNCTION
Before using the appliance for the rst time, ll with water, boil and pour
away.
1. Press the lid release button to open the lid and ll the kettle with
water, do not ll past the MAX line.
2. Place the kettle on the cordless base (9) and press the On/
O switch (7). The illumination strip (8) will illuminate while it is
operating.
3. When boiled, the kettle will automatically switch o.
4. Remove from the Cordless Base and pour the water from the kettle.
WARNING: When boiled, allow a few seconds before pouring. Both
the kettle and water will be hot.
1. The safety cut-out will operate if you accidentally switch on the
kettle when it is empty or allow it to boil dry.
2. Wait 15 minutes for the cut-out to reset before relling with cold
water and boiling.

CLEANING YOUR KETTLE
REMOVING THE LIMESCALE FILTER
• WARNING: Always disconnect the plug from the mains and allow the
kettle to cool before cleaning.
• Wipe the outside with a damp cloth.
• IMPORTANT: Do not use abrasive cleaners on the outside of the
kettle which may scratch or damage the surface.
• IMPORTANT: Do not submerge the kettle or base in water or other
liquids.
1. Allow the kettle to cool completely before removing the limescale
lter.
2. Remove the lid.
3. Pull the Removable Limescale Filter upwards from inside the kettle.
4. To ret the lter, slide it into the side wall guides of the lter holder
until it clicks into place.
WARNING: This kettle should never be used without the lter tted into
place correctly.

DESCALING
• IMPORTANT: As this appliance is tted with a concealed element it
must be descaled regularly.
• The frequency of descaling depends on usage and the hardness of
the water in your area. We recommend descaling your kettle every
month.
• Excessive scale can cause the appliance to switch o before boiling
and may damage the element, invalidating the warranty.
• Remove limescale using a proprietary descaling product suitable for
stainless steel, glass or plastic. Please follow the cleaning products
instructions carefully.
• IMPORTANT: Ensure that the electrical connections are completely
dry before using the appliance.
TROUBLESHOOTING

It is important to retain the retailer’s receipt as proof of purchase.

All Morphy Richards products are individually tested before leaving the
factory. In the unlikely event of any appliance proving to be faulty within
28 days of purchase, it should be returned to the place of purchase
for it to be replaced. If the fault develops after 28 days and within 24
months of original purchase, you should contact the Helpline quoting
Model number and Serial number on the product, or write to Morphy
Richards at the address shown. You may be asked to return a copy of
proof of purchase.
Subject to the exclusions set out on the next page (see Exclusions), the
faulty appliance will then be repaired or replaced as appropriate and
dispatched usually within 7 working days of receipt.
If, for any reason, this item is replaced or repaired during the 2 year

guarantee period, the guarantee on the new item will be calculated
from the original purchase date. Therefore it is vital to retain your
original till receipt or invoice to indicate the date of initial purchase.
To qualify for the 2 year guarantee, the appliance must have been used
according to the instructions supplied.
The appliance is intended for domestic use only. Misuse or use for
commercial or any other purpose will render the guarantee invalid.
Exclusions
Morphy Richards shall not be liable to replace or repair the goods under
the terms of the guarantee where:
1. The fault has been caused or is attributable to accidental use,
misuse, negligent use or used contrary to the manufacturer’s
recommendations or where the fault has been caused by power
surges or damage caused in transit.
2. The appliance has been used on a voltage supply other than that
stamped on the products.
3. Repairs have been attempted by persons other than our service
sta (or authorised dealer).
4. The appliance has been used for hire purposes or non domestic use.
5. The appliance is second hand or refurbished.
6. Morphy Richards reserves the right not to carry out any type of
servicing under the guarantee at its discretion.
This guarantee does not confer any rights other than those expressly
set out above and does not cover any claims for consequential loss
or damage. This guarantee is oered as an additional benet and
does not aect your statutory rights as a consumer. Morphy Richards
products are intended for household use only. See usage limitations
within the location safety instructions.
