OPERATION-HOB
GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT USING THE COOKTOP
General warnings
• Risk of fire over by overheated oil!
When you heat oil, do not leave it unat-
tended.
• Do not place or store items that can
melt or catch fire on the glass cook top,
even when it is not being used. If the
cook top is inadvertently turned on, they
may ignite. Heat from the cook top or
oven vent after it is turned off may cause
them to ignite also.
• Before frying foods, always dry them well
and gently place into the hot oil. Ensure
complete thawing of frozen foods before
frying.
• Do not cover the vessel you use when
heating oil.
• Make sure reflector pans or drip bowls
are in place. Absence of these pans or
bowls during cooking may subject wiring
or components underneath to damage.
• Do not cook popcorn in prepackaged alu-
minum containers on the cook top. They
could leave aluminum marks that cannot
be removed completely.
• For foods containing sugar in any form,
clean up all spills and soils as soon as
possible. Allow the cooktop to cool down
slightly. Then, while wearing oven mitts,
remove the spills while the surface is still
warm. If sugary spills are allowed to cool
down, they can adhere to the cooktop
and can cause pitting and permanent
marks.
• Avoid scratching the glass cook top. The
cook top can be scratched with items
such as knives, sharp instruments, rings
or other jewelry and rivets on clothing.
Tipping of pan
Make sure that the handles
of cookware do not stick out
over the edge of the
appliance, to avoid them
being knocked over by
accident. This also makes it
more difficult for children to
reach the cooking pans.
DANGER
• Do not allow any object to fall onto the
glass cooking surface. Even small ob-
jects such as salt shakers can damage
the glass cooking surface. Do not use a
cracked glass cooking surface. Water
can seep into these cracks and cause a
short circuit. If the surface is damaged in
any way (for example, visible cracks),
first turn off the fuse, then unplug the
product and call the authorized service to
reduce the risk of electric shock.
• Do not use unstable or easily tipping
cookware on the glass cooking surface.
• Do not heat empty cookware. Cookware
and the product may be damaged.
• Be sure to turn off the cooking zones
after each use.
• If you operate the cooking zones without
the cookware, you will damage the
product. Turn off the cooking zones after
each use.
• The cooking zones will be hot after each
use, so do not place plastic cookware on
the cooking zones. Clean up any melted
material on the surface immediately.
• Sudden temperature changes on the
glass cooking surface may cause dam-
age, be careful not to spill cold liquid dur-
ing cooking.
• Put the appropriate amount of food in the
cookware. This will prevent the food from
overflowing and you will not have to do
unnecessary cleaning.
background
9
• Do not place lids of cookware on the
cooking zones.
• Place the cookware so that it is centered
on the cooking zones. If you want to
move the cookware to another cooking
zone, lift it up and place it on the desired
cooking zone instead of sliding it.
Working principle of induction hob
An induction hob is like an open circuit.
When an induction-compatible cookware is
placed on it, the circuit is completed and an
electronic system located just below the
glass cooking surface produces a magnetic
field. The metal base of the cookware
heats up by receiving energy from this mag-
netic field. In this way, the heat is produced
not on the glass surface of the hob, but dir-
ectly in the cookware above it. The glass
surface heats up with the heat of the cook-
ware.
Advantages of induction cooking
Induction hobs offer some advantages as
the heat is transferred directly to the cook-
ware.
• Foods that overflow during cooking do
not burn quickly as the cooking glass sur-
face is not directly heated. Easier clean-
ing is provided.
• Since the heat is generated directly in the
cookware, cooking is faster, thus saving
time and energy compared to other types
of hobs.
• Since the heat is given directly to the
cookware, there is no heat loss and more
efficient cooking is achieved.
• As soon as the cookware is removed
from the cooking zone, heat transfer
stops and the cooking zone does not
heat up directly, providing safer use
against possible accidents that may oc-
cur during cooking.
For safe use:
• Do not select high heating levels when
using non-stick cookware coated with no
oil or very little oil (Teflon type).
• Do not use the glass cooking area as a
surface to place items on or to cut on.
• Do not place metal objects such as cut-
lery or cookware lids on the cooking zone
as they can get hot.
• Never use aluminum foil for cooking.
Never place food wrapped in aluminum
foil on the induction cooking zone.
• Keep magnetic objects, such as credit
cards or tapes, away from the product
while the cooking zones are in operation.
• If there is an oven under your hob and it
is operating, the sensors in the product
may reduce the cooking level or turn the
product off.
• Your hob has an automatic shut-off sys-
tem. Detailed information about this sys-
tem is available in the following sections.
Cookware
It is recommended that you use only cook-
ware that is ferromagnetic, of good quality
and labeled or marked as induction com-
patible for your induction hob. In general,
the higher the iron content, the better the
cookware will perform. The diameter of the
cookware base should match the induction
cooking area. Recommended sizes are lis-
ted below.
Suitable cookware:
• Cast iron cookware
• Enameled steel cookware
• Steel and stainless steel cookware (with
a label or warning indicating that it is in-
duction compatible)
Unsuitable cookware:
• Aluminum cookware
• Copper cookware
• Brass cookware
• Glass cookware
background
10
• Clay cooking pots
• Ceramic and porcelain cookware
Recommendations:
• Use only flat-bottomed cookware. Do not
use cookware with concave or convex
bases.
• Only use thick-based, processed cook-
ware. If you use thin-based cookware,
these cookware will heat up very quickly
and the base of the cookware may melt
before the automatic shut-off system is
activated, damaging the cooking surface
and the product. Sharp edges will scratch
the surface.
• Some cookware has a ferromagnetic
field at the bottom that is smaller than its
actual diameter. Only this area is heated
by the cooking zone. Therefore, the heat
is not distributed evenly and the cooking
performance decreases. In addition, such
cookware may not be detected by large
induction cooking zones. For this reason,
the cooking zone should be selected ac-
cording to the size of the ferromagnetic
field.
• Some cookware has a base that contains
non-ferromagnetic materials such as alu-
minum. These types of cookware may
not heat up sufficiently or may not be de-
tected by the induction cooking zone at
all. In some cases, a bad cookware warn-
ing may appear.
• When cooking multiple dishes on in-
duction cooking zones, distributing the
cookware equally to the right-left and
middle areas when selecting the cooking
zone positively affects the cooking per-
formance.
Cookware test
Test if your cookware is compatible with in-
duction hobs using the methods below.
1. If the base of the cookware holds a
magnet, it is compatible.
Recommended cookware sizes
The boiling behavior can vary depending on
the type of cookware, the size of the cook-
ware and the size of the cooking zone. For
a more uniform boiling behavior, a cooking
zone that is one size larger can be used.
Using a larger cooking zone does not waste
energy on induction hobs, because the heat
is only created in the relevant cookware.

Using induction cooking zones safely and
efficiently
Operating principles: Induction hob heats
directly the cooking vessel as a feature of
its operating principles. Therefore, it has
various advantages when compared to
other hob types. It operates more efficiently
and the hob surface does not heat up.
Induction hob is equipped with superior
safety systems that will provide you max-
imum usage safety.
• Your hob can be equipped with induc-
tion cooking zones with a diameter of
145 (6”), 210 (9”) and 260(11”) mm de-
pending on the model. With induction
feature, each cooking zone detects each
vessel placed on them. Energy builds up
only where the vessel contacts with the
cooking zone and thus, mini-mum energy
consumption is achieved.
Operation time constraints
The hob control is equipped with an opera-
tion time limit. When one or more cooking
zones are left on, the cooking zone will
automatically be deactivated after a certain
period of time (see Table-1). If there is a
timer assigned to the coo-king zone, the
timer display will also turn off later.
Operation time limit depends on the selec-
ted temperature level. Maximum operation
time is applied at this temperature level.
The cooking zone may be restarted by the
user after it is turned off automatically as
described above.

Overheating protection
Your hob is equipped with some sensors
ensu-ring protection against overheating.
Following may be observed in case of over-
heating:
• Active cooking zone may be turned off.
• Selected level may drop. However, this
condition cannot be seen on the indic-
ator.
• E2 error might be given.
Power management
The power managment is independently
done by the induction system. The latest set
cooking level has priority. If it is not pos-
background
14
sible to output the required power on a
cooking zone it will not be displayed. The
display changes only when the actual cook-
ing level is reached by turning the knob left.
Precise power setting
Induction hob reacts the commands imme-
diately as a feature of its operating prin-
ciples. It changes the power settings very
fast. Thus, you can pre-vent a cooking pot
(containing water, milk and etc.) from over-
flowing even if it was just about to over-
flow.
Operating noisy
Some noises may arise from the induction
hob. These sounds are normal and a part of
induction cooking.
• Noise becomes prominent in high tem-
perature levels.
• Alloy of the saucepan can cause noise.
• In low levels, a regular on/off sound can
be heard because of the operating prin-
ciples.
• Noise can be heard if an empty saucepan
is heated. When you put water or food in
it, this sound will clear away.
• The noise of the fan that cools electric
sys-tem can be heard.

COOKING TIPS
Baking
• Use dark-colored or -enamel coated
cookware to improve heat transfer.
• Use rack space efficiently.
• When cooking one item, place item in the
middle of the rack.
• Select the preferred rack position before
the oven starts heating. Do not change
rack position when oven is hot.
• DO NOT broil with the door open.
Roasting
• Seasoning with lemon juice and black
pepper will improve the cooking perform-
ance when cooking a whole chicken, tur-
key, or large piece of meat.
• Roasting meat with bones takes about 15
to 30 minutes longer than roasting meat
with bones removed.
• Estimate 4 to 5 minutes of cooking time
per centimeter height of meat.
background
16
• Fish should be cooked on the middle or
lower rack positions during roasting.
Broiling
• Broiling is ideal for cooking meat, fish
and poultry and will achieve a nice brown
surface without drying out. Flat pieces,
meat skewers, sausages, and vegetables
with high water content are particularly
suited for broiling.
• Distribute pieces directly on the wire
shelf. Place pan underneath to catch the
drippings. Add water to the drip pan for
easy cleaning.
Cooking Vegetables
• Cook vegetables in a pan with a lid to
keep them from running out of liquid and
drying out.
• Boil vegetables before cooking in the
oven to make sure they cook fully.
Rack Positions
• The oven racks can easily be removed
and/or rearranged to fit your cooking
needs. There are six rack positions, and
rack position 1 is the bottom most rack
position.
• For best results with conventional baking,
do not use more than one rack at a time.
If the use of two racks is required during
conventional baking, it is recommended
to leave one rack empty in between the
two racks in use.
• For optimal broiling coverage, it is recom-
mended to position the cooking vessel
closest to the oven door just out of con-
tact with the glass. Placing the cooking
vessel towards the rear of the oven will
reduce broiling coverage.
OVEN FUNCTION MODES
Bake
• For best results, preheat oven when
using bake mode.
• Heat radiates from the bake element,
situated at the bottom of the oven cavity.
The bake mode can be used for a variety
of food items, from cakes to casseroles.
• Bake food on a single rack with items
positioned in the middle of the rack. En-
sure 1 in. (25 mm) to 1.5 in. (38 mm) of
space is between item and oven walls.
• Baking time will vary with the size,
shape, and material of the pan used.
Convection Bake
• For best results, preheat oven when
using bake mode.
• Heat radiates from the bake element,
situated at the bottom of the oven cavity.
while the convection fan circulates the
heat throughout the oven. Convection
bake mode can be used to cook a variety
of food items, from cakes to breads.
• Convection bake mode is also ideal for
sponge cakes, pastries, and biscuits
cooking. Position items toward the rear
of the top racks and toward the front of
lower racks. Ensure 1 in. (25 mm) to 1.5
in. (38 mm) of space is between item and
oven walls.
background
17
• Baking time will vary with the size,
shape, and material of the pan used.
Broil
• For best results, preheat oven for 5 to
6 minutes when using the broil mode.
Turn items once while cooking. Broiling
time will vary based on size, weight,
thickness, starting temperature, and per-
sonal preference of doneness.
• Heat radiates from the broil element,
situated at the top of the oven cavity.
Broil mode can be used to cook small
cuts and flat pieces of meat, poultry, and
fish. Broil mode can also be used to
brown breads and other foods.
• Broil items on a single rack using a
broiler pan positioned under the broil ele-
ment.
• The broil mode has two settings: low
“LO” and high “HI”.
• To use this mode, Turn the funciton se-
lection knob to “Broil”. Then select the
broil setting low “LO” or high “HI”with

Convection Roast
• For best results, preheat oven when
using convection roast mode.
• Heat radiates from the bake and broil
elements. The convection fan circulates
heat throughout the oven. The roast
mode can be used for large cuts of meat
and poultry or to roast several items at
the same time. Convection roast mode
can be used to reduce roast times while
keeping the item moist and tender. Roast
items on a single rack using a roasting
tray or broiler pan, and position in the
middle of the rack.
• DO NOT cover meat or use roasting
bags in this mode.
Sabbath
• Heat radiates from the bake element
only.

tremely sensitive to the fumes given off
during the Sabbath mode. Always move
birds and pets to another closed and well
ventilated room. Keep the kitchen well-
ventilated during the Sabbath mode also
for your health.
• All food should be placed in the oven be-
fore the Sabbath begins, since none may
be placed in the oven during the Sabbath.
• On the Sabbath the oven door may only
be opened once, all the food removed
and then closed. On the Holidays, the

AirFry
• Warning: Airfry accessories should
only be used with the airfry function.
When the Airfry accessory is used with
functions where the oven burners work
(bake, convection bake, roast, convection

duce foods with a crispier exterior than
traditional oven cooking.
• Rack position 3 is recommended most
foods. Use rack position 2 for thicker
foods.

• Rack position 3 is recommended most
foods. Use rack position 2 for thicker
foods.
• Place a proper size(larger than AirFry

low the AirFry tray to catch any drippings
from food. This will help to reduce splat-
ter and smoke. If you dont use tray to
catch oil, oil can causing a fire hazard or
poor oven performance.
• Caution: Foods high in fat will smoke
when using the AirFry mode. For best res-
ults, follow these recommendations
when air frying foods that are high in fat,
such as chicken wings, bacon, sausage,
hot dogs, turkey legs, lamb chops, ribs,
pork loin, duck, or some plantbased pro-
teins.
• Caution: Never cover slots, holes, or
passages in the oven bottom or cover en-
tire racks with materials such as alu-
minum foil.
Doing so blocks airflow through the oven
and can result in carbon monoxide poison-
ing. Aluminum foil can also trap heat, caus-
ing a fire hazard or poor oven performance.
• Caution:Turn on your exhaust hood at
a high fan setting before you start AirFry
and leave it on for 15 minutes after you're
done.
• Clean the grease filters on your exhaust
