IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WHEN USING ELECTRICAL PRODUCTS, ESPECIALLY WHEN CHILDREN ARE PRESENT, BASIC
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS SHOULD ALWAYS BE FOLLOWED, INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING.
DANGER: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK:
• ALWAYS unplug the unit from the electrical outlet immediately after using and before cleaning.
• DO NOT reach for a unit that has fallen into water. Unplug it immediately.
• Never use pins or other metallic fasteners with this appliance.
• DO NOT place or store appliance where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink.
• DO NOT place in or drop into water or other liquid.
WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF BURNS, FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK, OR INJURY TO
PERSONS:
• An appliance should never be left unattended when plugged in. Unplug from outlet when not in
use and before putting on or taking o parts or attachments.
• Close supervision is necessary when this appliance is used by, on, or near children, invalids, or
disabled persons.
• Use this appliance only for its intended use as described in this manual. DO NOT use attachments
not recommended by Homedics; specically any attachments not provided with the unit.
• NEVER operate this appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working properly, if it
has been dropped or damaged, or dropped into water. Contact the Homedics Service Center
regarding examination and repair.
• Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
• NEVER drop or insert any object into any opening.
• DO NOT operate where aerosol (spray) products are being used or where oxygen is being administered.
• DO NOT operate under a blanket or pillow. Excessive heating can occur and cause re, electric
shock, or injury to persons.
• DO NOT carry this appliance by the supply cord or use cord as a handle.
• To disconnect, turn all controls to the “o” position, then remove plug from outlet.
• DO NOT use outdoors.
• Use heated surfaces carefully. May cause serious burns. DO NOT use over insensitive skin areas
or in the presence of poor circulation. The unattended use of heat by children or incapacitated
persons may be dangerous.
• All servicing of this blanket must be performed by authorised Homedics service personnel only.
• This unit is not intended for use in the hospital setting.
• DO NOT pull, twist or bend the power cable.
• DO NOT use this product on animals, this product is intended for use on people only.
• DO NOT puncture this blanket in any way.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
• This electric heated throw blanket must not be used by persons insensitive or highly vulnerable to
heat, because they could not react if it overheats.
• This electric heated throw blanket must not be used by very young children (from 0 to 3 years),
because they could not react if it overheats.
• This electric heated throw blanket must not be used by young children (from 3 to 8 years), unless
the switch has been set by a parent or guardian and the child has received enough information to
use the electric heated throw blanket safely. Adult supervision is still required.
• This electric heated throw blanket can be used by children aged from 8 years and above
and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and
knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a
safe way and understand the hazards involved.
• Children shall not play with the electric heated throw blanket.
• Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
• This electric heated throw blanket is not intended for use in the hospital setting.
• During drying (after Washing) position the to ensure water does not ow into the controller.
• DO NOT pierce the blanket with sharp objects.
• DO NOT use the electric heated throw blanket folded or wrinkled. This could cause excessive heating.
• DO NOT use the wet heated throw blanket.
• You must use this electric heated throw blanket in combination with the switch indicated on the label.
• The heater throw blanket is only to be used with controller SS18.
• Electric and magnetic elds from this electric heated throw blanket may interfere with the operation
of pacemakers. Therefore consult your doctor and the manufacturer of your pacemaker before
using this electric heated throw blanket.
• DO NOT put objects on the blanket while it is in operation, like a suitcase or especially heat source
objects like hot water bottle etc.
• The electronic components in the switch will become hot when the heated throw blanket is in
use.
• You should therefore not cover switch or place the controller on the heated throw blanket when
being used.
• DO NOT pull, twist or DO NOT bend the cables too strongly.
• This electric heated throw blanket must be regularly checked for the presence of any sign of
wear or damage. If this heated throw blanket has been used inappropriately or if it heats more
than seems reasonable, it must be checked by the manufacturer before being used again.
• If the heated throw blanket power supply cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualied persons in order to avoid a hazard.
• If you want to store or fold the heated throw blanket:
- Allow it to cool down before folding.
- DO NOT crease it by placing items on the top of it during storage.
• DO NOT use on adjustable bed or check that the heated throw blanket or cord DO NOT become
trapped or rucked.
• When using the electric heated throw blanket for several hours, it is recommended to set the
switch to the lowest temperature level to avoid overheating.

• If at any time soreness, rash or pain occurs, discontinue use and consult your physician.
• NEVER use this product directly on swollen or inamed areas, skin eruptions or an open wound.
NOTE: Electric and magnetic fields from this electric heated throw blanket may interfere with the
operation of pacemakers.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
CONNECTING THE CONTROLLER
• Connect the plug to the socket at the bottom of the heated throw blanket and the other end to a
220-240V power outlet.
• Ensure the power cable is not in a position where it may be tripped over.
• Once the controller and cable have been correctly assembled check that the cable is hanging freely
without any hard bends, folds or kinks.
HEATING THE THROW BLANKET
1. Place the throw in a position where it can lay flat with no folds or overhangs.
2. To pre-heat the throw blanket, select the 3rd setting on the controller for 15 minutes.
The temperature will gradually rise.
3. Set the controller to the heat setting you require. There are 3 heat settings
4. To turn the throw blanket off, select the ‘OFF’ position.
CAUTION: DO NOT cover the controller at any time.
Keep the controller and throw away from any external heat sources or
electronics i.e. heaters, fireplaces etc.
NOTE: Power plug is to be connected directly to a power source,
DO NOT use with extension cables, double adapters etc.
OPERATING THE CONTROLLER
1. Change the temperature by sliding the ‘Temperature Select Knob’ up or
down to your desired temperature.
2. The temperature setting that has been selected will be illuminated.
OVERHEAT PROTECTION
Your heated throw blanket has a safety protection against overheating.
It will automatically shut off after 180 minutes.
WARNING: In order to avoid the possibility of heat stroke be aware
of the temperature in the environment where you are using your
heated throw banket.

MAINTENANCE
When you are not using the electric heated throw blanket and before cleaning it,
follow the instructions below:
1. Make sure the control button is in the “OFF” position.
2. Disconnect the power supply.
3. Disconnect the plug linking the control to the device.
4. Let the heated throw blanket cool down completely before cleaning.
TO CLEAN
• Small stains can be cleaned with a cloth or a damp sponge and, if necessary, with a little liquid
detergent for delicate fabrics.
• If the heated throw blanket is very dirty, it can be machine washed at 30ºC maximum. Dry clean
or tumble dry may damage the inner heating wires due to the high speed strength.
• Use a detergent for delicate fabrics and measure it out according to the manufacturer’s
instructions.
• DO NOT wash the heated throw blanket too often to avoid excessive wear and tear.
• When drying the heated throw blanket, DO NOT hang it up with clothes pegs or other such
devices.
• DO NOT expose the heated throw blanket to heat sources such as the sun, a radiator, etc.
• Only reconnect the power cable to the heated throw blanket when the plug and the fabric are
completely dry.
• DO NOT switch the electric heated throw blanket on to dry it.
TO STORE
• If you are not using the heated throw blanket for a long time, it is advisable to store it in its
original packaging in a dry place.
• When storing the blanket, allow it to cool down before folding.
• DO NOT place any objects on top of the throw blanket.
WARNING: The electric heated throw blanket should not be
dry-cleaned, bent, dried in a dryer or machine-pressed or ironed.

LIMITED 1-YEAR WARRANTY
We or us means Homedics Australia Pty Ltd ACN
31 103 985 717 and our contact details are set out
at the end of this warranty;
You means the purchaser or the original end-user
of the Goods. You may be a domestic user or a
professional user;
Supplier means the authorised distributor or
retailer of the Goods that sold you the Goods in
Australia and New Zealand; and
Goods means the product or equipment which
was accompanied by this warranty and purchased
in Australia and New Zealand.
For Australia:
Our Goods come with guarantees that cannot be
excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
You are entitled, subject to the provisions of the
Australian Consumer Law, to a replacement or
refund for a major failure and for compensation
for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or
damage. You are also entitled, subject to the
provisions of the Australian Consumer Law, to
have the Goods repaired or replaced if the goods
fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure
does not amount to a major failure. This is not
a complete statement of your legal rights as a
consumer.
For New Zealand:
Our Goods come with guarantees that cannot
be excluded under the Consumer Guarantees
Act 1993. This guarantee applies in addition to
the conditions and guarantees implied by that
legislation.
The Warranty
Homedics sells its products with the intent that
they are free of defects in manufacture and
workmanship under normal use and service. In
the unlikely event that your Homedics product
proves to be faulty within 1 year from the date of
purchase due to workmanship or materials only,
we will replace it at our own expense, subject to
the terms and conditions of this guarantee. The
warranty period is limited to 3 months from the
date of purchase for products used commercially/
professionally.
Terms and Conditions:
In addition to the rights and remedies that
you have under the Australian Consumer Law,
Consumer Guarantees Act of New Zealand or any
other applicable law and without excluding such
rights and remedies warranty against defects:
The Goods are designed to withstand the rigors
of normal household use and are manufactured
to the highest standards using the highest quality
components. Whilst unlikely, if, during the first
12 months (3 months commercial use) from their
date of purchase from the Supplier (Warranty
Period), the Goods prove defective by reason of
improper workmanship or materials and none
of your statutory rights or remedies apply, we
will replace the Goods, subject to the terms and
conditions of this warranty.
We DO NOT have to replace the Goods under
this Additional Warranty if the Goods have been
damaged due to misuse or abuse, accident, the

attachment of any unauthorised accessory,
alteration to the product, improper installation,
unauthorised repairs or modifications, improper
use of electrical/power supply, loss of power,
malfunction or damage of an operating part from
failure to provide manufacturer’s recommended
maintenance, transportation damage, theft,
neglect, vandalism, environmental conditions or
any other conditions whatsoever that are beyond
the control of Homedics.
This Warranty does not extend to the purchase
of used, repaired or second-hand products or to
products not imported or supplied by Homedics
Australia Pty Ltd, including but not limited to
those sold on offshore internet auction sites.
This Warranty extends only to consumers and
does not extend to Suppliers.
Even when we DO NOT have to replace the
Goods, we may decide to do so anyway. In some
cases, we may decide to substitute the Goods
with a similar alternative product of our choosing.
All such decisions are at our absolute discretion.
All such replaced or substituted Goods continue
to receive the benefit of this Additional Warranty
for the time remaining on the original Warranty
Period (or three months, whichever is the
longest).
This Additional Warranty does not cover items
damaged by normal wear and tear including
but not limited to chips, scratches, abrasions,
discolouration and other minor defects,
where the damage has negligible effect on the
operation or performance of the Goods.
This Additional Warranty is limited to
replacement or substitution only. As far as the
law permits, we will not be liable for any loss or
damage caused to property or persons arising
from any cause whatsoever and shall have no
liability for any incidental, consequential, or
special damages.
This warranty is only valid and enforceable in
Australia and New Zealand.
Making a Claim:
In order to claim under this Warranty, you must
return the Goods to the Supplier (place of
purchase) for replacement. If this is not possible,
please contact our Customer Service department
by email:
cservice@homedics.com.au or at the address
below.
All returned Goods must be accompanied by
satisfactory proof of purchase which clearly
indicates the name and address of the Supplier,
the date and place of purchase and identifies
product. It is best to provide an original, legible,
and unmodified receipt or sales invoice.
You must bear any expense for return of the
Goods or otherwise associated with making your
claim under this Additional Warranty.
