2.2 ASSEMBLING THE DEVICE

1 Connect the lower array column to the subwoofer

by inserting the steel pins of the lower array

column into the corresponding steel pin holes on

the subwoofer.

2 Make sure both components connect properly.

ðThe 14-pin connectors of the lower array column

and the subwoofer are electrically connected.

3 Connect the upper array column to the lower array

column by inserting the steel pins of the upper ar-

ray column into the corresponding steel pin holes

on the lower array column.

ðThe 14-pin connectors of the upper and lower ar-

ray column are electrically connected.

3.3 TURNING THE DEVICE ON OR OFF

4 | THE USER INTERFACE

MAIN Level Control - Adjusts the overall volume. When the

subwoofer is used as a subwoofer extension, the level

control is disabled and the MAIN display field is turned

off.

SUB Level control – Adjusts the volume balance between

the subwoofer and the column speaker. When the sub-

woofer is used as a subwoofer extension, the level control

is disabled and the SUB display field is turned off.

System Status Display - Provides visual feedback on oper-

ating conditions.

PROTECT – Indicates that the system is overloaded or

overheating. The amplifiers are muted automatically.

Once normal operating conditions are restored, the

unit returns to standard operation after a few minutes.

LIMIT – Indicates that the speaker system is operating

near its upper limit. Brief illumination is not critical. To

protect the system, excessive signal levels are

smoothly reduced by the integrated limiter. If the lim-

iter LED remains lit for longer or permanently, reduce

the volume level.

SIGNAL – Indicates that the device is receiving an audio

signal. The signal is detected before the main level con-

trol.

POWER – Indicates that the device is properly connec-

ted to the mains and switched on.

FOLLOW – Indicates that the columns have been de-

tached from the system and the subwoofer is being

used as a subwoofer extension.

CARDIOID OFF Icon – Illustrates the correct MAIN and

FOLLOW orientation when the cardioid preset is disabled.

CARDIOID ON Icon – Illustrates the required MAIN and

FOLLOW orientation when the cardioid preset is enabled.

HOLD TO LINK Button - Press and hold for 3 seconds to

activate Bluetooth® pairing for audio streaming.

L R CHANNEL - Cycles through left, right, or

mono‑summed Bluetooth® output

CARDIOID Subwoofer ON/OFF – Enables or disables the

cardioid subwoofer preset. Press and hold the CARDIOID

button for approximately 2 seconds to change the operat-

ing mode.

IN - Balanced line stereo input with two 3-pin female XLR

sockets for connection of a playback device. Any stereo

signal present is internally summed to mono.

OUT - Provides a balanced pass‑through of the input sig-

nal and the active Bluetooth audio signal for connecting

additional audio equipment.

SUB OUT – Provides a balanced line output via a male 3-

pin XLR connector for controlling the subwoofer exten-

sion.

5 GETTING STARTED

5.1 AUDIO PLAYBACK

5.1.1

CONNECTING AN INPUT SOURCE (LINE-IN MONO

PLAYBACK)

1 Connect your line-level input source

a) For a mono input source, connect your line-

level signal to connector IN L or IN R

b) For a stereo input source, connect the left and

right line-level signals to connectors IN L and

IN R.

ðThe MAUI® internally sums the signals from IN  L

and IN R to a mono output.

CONNECTING AN INPUT SOURCE (LINE-IN STEREO

PLAYBACK)

ü Two MAUI® systems

ü Stereo line-in audio source

1 Connect the left output signal (L) of your stereo

line‑level audio source to either of the Line inputs

(IN L or IN R) on the first Maui unit.

2 Connect the right output signal (R) of your stereo

line‑level audio source to either of the Line inputs

(IN L or IN R) on the second Maui unit.

5.1.3

ADJUSTING THE MAIN VOLUME

Turn the MAIN level control clockwise to increase

the main volume.

Turn the MAIN level control anticlockwise to de-

crease it.

5.1.4

CONNECTING A SUBWOOFER EXTENSION

The MAUI® automatically enters SUB extension

mode when the column speakers are detached.

The FOLLOW indicator confirms that the device is

operating as a subwoofer extension.

1 On the Main unit, connect the SUB OUT port to the

IN L or IN R connector on the subwoofer extension

using a balanced XLR audio cable.

2 Turn on the Main unit.

3 Turn on the subwoofer extension.

ðThe subwoofer extension receives the low-fre-

quency signal and operates as an active bass ex-

tension to the Main unit.

5.1.5

ADJUSTING THE SUBWOOFER LEVEL

In subwoofer extension mode, the MAIN and SUB

level controls on the subwoofer extension are

deactivated.

On the Main unit, turn the SUB level control clock-

wise to increase the subwoofer level.

On the Main unit, turn the SUB level control anti-

clockwise to decrease it.

6 WIRELESS CONNECTIONS

6.1 PAIRING A DEVICE VIA BLUETOOTH® FOR

MONO PLAYBACK

ü You have a Bluetooth®-ready mobile device, such

as a smartphone or tablet.

1 Turn on Bluetooth® on your mobile device.

On the MAUI®, press and hold the HOLDTOLINK

button for 3 seconds to start the pairing process.

The LED above the HOLDTOLINK button starts

to flash.

3 Follow the procedure for Bluetooth® pairing on

your mobile device.

The LED above the HOLDTOLINK button lights

up permanently.

ðYour mobile device is paired and ready for audio

playback.

If your MAUI® is already paired via Bluetooth®, it

will not appear in the Bluetooth® menu of other

mobile devices. Unpair the currently paired mobile

device to make the MAUI® available for other

devices.

6.2 PAIRING A DEVICE VIA BLUETOOTH® FOR

STEREO PLAYBACK

ü You have a Bluetooth®-ready mobile device, such

as a smartphone or tablet.

ü Two MAUI® systems

ü Balanced XLR audio cable

1 Connect the Main unit’s OUT R to the Follower unit’s

IN R.

ðThis connection transfers the right Bluetooth®

channel from the Main unit to the Follower unit.

2 Turn on Bluetooth® on your mobile device.

3 On the MAUI® Main unit, press and hold

the HOLDTOLINK button for 3 seconds to start the

pairing process.

The LED above the HOLDTOLINK button starts

to flash.

4 Follow the procedure for Bluetooth® pairing on

your mobile device.

The LED above the HOLDTOLINK button lights

up permanently.

ðYour mobile device is paired and ready for stereo

audio playback.

5 On the Main unit, press the

CHANNEL button and

set the unit to L (Left).

If your MAUI® is already paired via Bluetooth®, it

will not appear in the Bluetooth® menu of other

mobile devices. Unpair the currently paired mobile

device to make the MAUI® available for other

devices.

6.3 UNPAIRING A BLUETOOTH® AUDIO

PLAYBACK DEVICE

ü You have a Bluetooth® device paired to your

MAUI®.

Press and hold the HOLDTOLINK button for

This is an electrical device in protection class I. Make

sure that the protective conductor is connected to

Electromagnetic radiation, such as LED video

3.8 DEVICE SAFETY

Do not switch the device on and off in quick succes-

sion, because this will shorten the device lifetime.

Loudspeakers generate a magnetic field, even when

they are not in use. Devices, such as hard disk drives

or cheque cards may be affected by the loud-

speaker's magnetic field. Do not set up or transport

these devices near the loudspeaker.
