thembeforeconnectingthemachineto
theelectricalsystem.
> Theappliancemustbeconnectedtogroundin
compliancewithelectricalsystemsafetystandards.
> Positiontheappliancewiththeaidofasecond
person.
> Never use the open door to lever the appli-
anceintoposition.
> Avoidexertingtoomuchpressureonthedoor

Thesystempressuremustbebetween0.05MPaand
0.5MPa(between0.5barand5bar).
Anypressureoutsideofthisrangemaycausethewa-
tersystemtomalfunctionorleak.

The appliance is equipped with a SchukoUnel type

(up to 1.5 kg a day), while with the CUBE SIZE

Any problems encountered
Does the ice give off an unusual smell?
Ice is a porous material which can absorb odours
from its surroundingenvironment. Ice cubeswhich
havebeenintheicecubecontainerforalongtime
may absorb odours, stick together and slowly be-
comesmaller.
Werecommendthatoldicecubesnotbeused.
Othermeansofpreventingodours:
> The ice cube container should be cleaned occa-
sionallywithwarmwater.Makesurethatyouswitch

reached,productionwillstopautomatically.
The production is 10 cubes about every two
hours (for a total of 10 cycles over 24 hours).

Yourapplianceisdesignedtoensureconstantaccu-
ratetemperaturesandappropriatehumiditylevelsin
allcompartments.Inaddition,thedoublerefrigera-
tionensuresthatfrozenfoodsandicedonotabsorb
theodouroffreshfoodsandthatthehumidityinthe
refrigerator does not freeze, resulting in frost build-
up. Nevertheless, to properly preserve all of your
foods,itisnotenoughtohaveanexcellentrefrigera-
tor.Itisalsonecessarytoknowtherulesofcorrect
coldfoodstorage.
Do bear in mindthatallfoods willinevitably change
their characteristics with the passage of time.
Thischangebeginslongbeforethefoodisconsumed,
since foods contain micro-organisms which multiply
andcancausedeterioration.
Thisprocessoccursmorerapidlyinthecase ofim-
proper handling and of incorrect storage tempera-
turesandhumiditylevels.
Wetherefore recommendedthat youfollow thein-
structionsprovidedbelowwhichwillallowyoutouse
yourrefrigerator/freezerinthesafestandmosteec-
tivemanner,tokeepyourfoodsinthebestpossible
wayforaslongaspossible.
BearinmindthattheCrisper-Frescoareaisthearea
forpreservingthemostdelicatefreshfoods,sinceit
ensuresconstantaveragetemperaturenearfreezing.
Periodicallycheckthatallfoodsareinaproperstate
ofpreservation.Itisusuallyquiteclearwhenafood
item has deteriorated, due to mould, an unsavoury
odourandanunpleasantaspect.
Nevertheless,therearecasesinwhichthesecondi-
tionsarenotsoevident.
Ifyoubelievethatafooditemhasbeenkeptforan
excessiveperiodoftimeandmayhavedeteriorated,
donotconsumethisitemoreventasteit,evenifitstill
seemstobewellpreserved, sincethe bacteriathat
causedeteriorationinfoodcanalsocausepoisoning
andillness.Whenindoubt,throwthefoodaway.

eitherintheenvironmentorinthefoods
placedintheFrescodrawers,thebottom

Tocleanthecondenser,followtheseinstructions:

> Wait approx. 30 minutes, until the con-
denser cools down to ambient temperature.

> RestarttheapplianceactingontheON/OFF
buttonagainforabout3seconds.

If you notice any malfunctioning of your appli-
ance, use this guide before calling for service.

Display message and audible alarms
Amalfunctionisusuallyindicatedonthedisplay.
The problemsthatcannotbesolvedbytheuser
aresignalledthroughamalfunctioncode.Keep
inmind,however,thatthesemayappearinmes-
sages or alarms under particular conditions of
useorduringstart-up.Insuchanevent,deacti-

Ice or frost build up inside the

Unpleasant odours inside the

Cleantheappliancethoroughlyaccordingtothe
instructions. Hermetically cover all of the food.
Do not store food for extended periods of time.
The doors are dicult to open
Theappliancewasdesignedtopermithermetic
closure.Whenthedoorisclosed,avacuumcon-
ditioncanbecreated:insuchanevent,itisnec-
essarytowaitafewsecondsuntilthepressure
balancesbeforeopeningthedoor.
The appliance is cooling but lights and
