The Saf-T-Bar
®
is UL listed for fan support and exceeds the requirements of the National Electric Code for
fans weighing up to 70 lbs., for lighting fixtures mounted on 16” center joists weighing up to 150 lbs., and
lighting fixtures mounted on 24” center joists weighing up to 90 lbs. Included non-metallic connector for use
with 14-2 and 12-3 AWG sheathed cable.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Turn off electrical power at breaker!
1. Using the four screws provided, mount the Saf-T-Bar
®
to the ceiling joist (figure 1).
NOTE: Feet are preset for
1
⁄2" sheetrock, be sure that the box will be flush with the finished ceiling.
2. Loosen the locknuts that clamp the electrical box to the bar and slide the box to the desired location
(outer tube of bar
only). See figure 2. Retighten the locknuts securely. Pull wire into box using clamp provided. Do not overtighten. Tighten with
hand only. DO NOT USE POWER TOOLS TO TIGHTEN.
3. If you are not installing the fan at this time, install mounting hardware (to prevent it from being misplaced), tuck wire into
box and replace Saf-T-Cap
®
(figure 3). Saf-T-Cap
®
protects bolts and wiring during painting and sheetrocking.
4. When you are ready to hang the fan or fixture, remove Saf-T-Cap
®
and the pre-installed 10-24 x
3
⁄4" bolts. Install fan or
fixture screwing the 10-24 x
3
⁄4" bolts into the threaded inserts, NOT THE ELECTRICAL BOX EARS! Box ears can be used
to mount lightweight fixtures or cover plates. Finish installation according to fan or fixture manufacturer’s instructions.

®

iluminación con un peso de hasta 150 libras (68 kg) montados en vigas que tienen 16 pulg. (40,64 cm) entre
centros, y artefactos de iluminación con un peso de hasta 90 libras (40,82 kg) montados en vigas que tienen
24 pulg. (60,96 cm) entre centros. Incluye abrazadera no metálica para uso con cableado envainada de
tamaño 14-2 o 12-3 AWG.
INSTRUCCIONES DEL INSTALACION
¡Apague la corriente en el disyuntor!
1. Usando los cuatro tornillos provistos, monte la Saf-T-Bar
®
a la vigueta del techo (figura 1).
NOTA: Los pies estan programados con anterioridad para una plancha de

⁄2". Asegurese que la caja de empalme estara al
ras con el tehco terminado.
2. Suelte las tuercas de seguridad que sujetan con abrazadera la caja de empalme a la barra y deslize la caja al lugar
deseado y vuelva a apretar las tuercas de seguridad bien sujetas (sólo tubo externo de la barra). Vea la Figura 2. Hale el
cable dentro de la caja usando la abrazadera provista. No sobre apriete. Apriete solo a mano. NO USE HERRAMIENTA
ELECTRICA.
3. Si no esta instalando el ventilador en este momento, instale los componentes (para prevenir que se pierdan) entre los
cables en la caja y reemplaze la Saf-T-Cap
®
(figura 3). Saf-T-Cap
®
proteje los tornillos y el cableado mientras se este
pintando o instalando.
4. Cuando este listo para colgar el ventilador o adorno, quite la Saf-T-Cap
®
. y los 10-24" x
3
⁄4" pernos que vienen ya instalados.
Instale el Ventilador o Adorno atornillando las tuercas de 10-20 x
3
⁄4" en los intercalados con roscados, NO LAS OREJAS
DE LA CAJA! Las orejas de la caja pueden ser usados para montar los adornos ligeros o chapas de cubiertas. Termine de
instalar de acuerdo a las instrucciones del ventilador o adorno.

est inscrite sur la liste des supports de ventilateur approuvés par l’UL, et dépasse les exigences
du National Electric Code relatives aux ventilateurs allant jusqu’à 70 lbs, aux appareils d’éclairage installés
sur des poutrelles centrales de 16 po et allant jusqu’à 150 lbs, et aux appareils d’éclairage installés sur des
poutrelles centrales de 24 po, allant jusqu’à 90 lbs. Comprend un connecteur non métallique pour utilisation
avec un câble à gaine AWG 14-2 et 12-3.
INSTRUCTIONS D’INSTALLATION
Coupez le courant dans la boîte de disjoncteurs !
1. A l’aide des quatre vis fournies, installez la barre de sécurité Saf-T-Bar
®
à la solive du plafond (figure 1).
NOTE : Étant donné que les pieds sont préréglés pour du gyproc de
1
⁄2 po (1,2 cm), assurez-vous que la boîte est affleurée
au plafond fini.
2. Dévissez les contre-écrous qui brident la boîte électrique à la barre et faites glisser la boîte à l’emplacement désiré
(tube extérieur de la barre seulement). Voir figure 2. Resserrez bien les contre-écrous. Tirez le fil à l’intérieur de la boîte à
l’aide du serre-câble. Ne pas trop serrer. Serrez manuellement seulement. N’UTILISEZ PAS D’OUTILS MÉCANIQUES
POUR SERRER.
3. Si vous n’installez pas le ventilateur à ce moment-ci, installez la quincaillerie de montage (afin d’éviter de l’égarer), insérez
le fil dans la boîte et replacez le Saf-T-Cap
®
(figure 3). Le Saf-T-Cap
®
protège les boulons et les fils pendant la peinture et
la pose de gyproc.
4. Lorsque vous suspendez le ventilateur ou l’appareil d’éclairage, retirez le capuchon de sécurité (SAF-T-CAP
®
) et les
boulons préinstallés (10-24 x 1,9 mm). Installez le ventilateur ou l’appareil d’éclairage en vissant les boulons de
10-24 x
3
⁄4 po dans les filets rapportés et NON DANS LES OREILLES DE LA BOÎTE ÉLECTRIQUE! Les oreilles de la boîte
peuvent être utilisées pour installer des appareils d’éclairage légers ou des plaques de recouvrement. Complétez
l’installation du ventilateur ou de l’appareil d’éclairage selon les instructions du fabricant.
