About This Guide
This guide provides a brief introduction to the Home Security Wi-Fi Camera and the Tapo app, as well as regulatory information.
Please note that features available in Tapo may vary by model and software version. Tapo availability may also vary by region. All images, steps, and
descriptions in this guide are only examples and may not reect your actual Tapo Camera experience.

Introduction
When you are away home, there are always something you care about. This is where the smart camera functions. No matter your child is climbing the
kitchen cabinet, or the pet is stealing snacks, the Home Security Wi-Fi Camera helps you stay with them anytime, anywhere. Receive a notication
whenever your camera detects motion and see a video clip of this motion to check everything.
• Always Keep an Eye on What Matters to You – Receive instant notications and check live viewswhen motion, a person, or a baby crying is
detected. You can also set up activity zones to only monitor key areas in view.
• 1080p Full High Denition – Provides greater sharpness and clarity.
• Customizable Block Zones – Set customizable block zones to keep private areas from being monitored.
• Alarm System – Triggers sound alarms to frighten away unwanted visitors.
• Night Vision (Up to 40 ft) – Provides a visual distance of up to 40 ft in total darkness.
• Local* and Cloud** Storage – Save recorded videos on the microSD card* (up to 512 GB) or by using Tapo Care cloud storage services.
*microSD card needs to be purchased separately. Actual storage capacity depends on the size of the microSD card used.

Appearance
The Home Security Wi-Fi Camera has a system LED that changes color according to its status, an alert light, lens, microphone, DC power port, RESET
button and a microSD card slot. Refer below for details.
microSD Card Slot
Insert a microSD card and initialize it on the app for local
recording.
Note:
Holding the card in the correct orientation, carefully insert
the SD card into the slot. Push in the SD card until you hear a clicking
sound. Do NOT insert at an angle or use force.
System LED
• Solid red: Starting up
• Blinking red and green: Ready for setup
• Blinking red slowly: Connecting to Wi-Fi
• Solid amber: Connected to Wi-Fi
• Solid green: Connected to the cloud
• Blinking red quickly: Camera resetting
• Blinking green quickly: Camera updating
RESET Button
Press and hold for at least 5 seconds until the LED blinks
red to reset your camera.
Alert Light
Blinks to alert you when the activity
detected.
DC Power Port
Connect the power cord provided.
Lens
Microphone
Built-in internal microphone.
Note:
Do NOT insert objects into the hole.

Set Up Your Camera
Follow the steps below to get started with your new camera.
Step 1. Download Tapo App
Get the Tapo app from the App Store or
Google Play, or by scanning the QR code
below.
Step 2. Log In
Open the app, and log in with your TP-Link ID.
If you don't have an account, create one rst.
Step 3. Add Your Camera
Tap the button > Add Device in the app
and search for your model. Follow the app
instructions to complete setup.

Mount Your Camera
When you nish adding your camera in the Tapo app, you can set it on a table or shelf. You can also mount it using the provided anchors and screws.
Follow the steps below to mount your new camera.
Place the mounting template where you
want the camera.
For wall mounting, drill two holes through
two circles.
Φ=6 mm (15/64 in.)
Size of scews:

Hang your camera on the screws.

For wall mounting, insert two anchors into holes
and screw the screws into the anchors.

Safety Information
• Keep the device away from water, fire, humidity or hot environments.
• Do not use damaged charger or USB cable to charge the device.
• Do not use any other chargers than those recommended.
• Do not use the device where wireless devices are not allowed.
