HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY
GROUNDED PLUG
To reduce the risk of electric shock this appliance has a grounded plug
(2 blades and 1 pin). If the plug does not fit fully into the electrical outlet
contact a qualified electrician. Do not modify the plug in any way or use
an adaptor.
BEFORE FIRST USE
Place a pot with water on the elements and turn the Temperature
Control Knobs to the MAX position. Allow the unit to heat on the MAX
setting for 10 – 15 minutes. This will burn off any manufacturing oils on
any inside parts of the Cooktop. During this process, a small amount of
smoke may be seen coming from under the Cooktop and/or around the
Temperature Control Knobs.
HOW TO USE
Any flat-bottomed pot or container that can be used on a conventional
electric stove element can also be used on the cooktop. Cookware
made from solid aluminum or some other material with an encapsulated
aluminum base will provide the best results. Any cookware can be used
to reheat but if maximum energy is required, such as boiling water,
please use the recommended cookware.
IMPORTANT: For maximum heat transfer and stability cookware should
have a perfectly solid flat bottom. Make sure the diameter of your
cookware is close in size to the element you are using. NEVER use over-
sized cookware. Check the bottom of your cookware regularly to ensure
it is perfectly flat with no warping or abnormalities before use.
1. Place the Cooktop on a smooth, dry, at surface. For proper
ventilation provide at least 4 – 6 inches (10 - 15 cm) of space above
and around the appliance.
2. Be sure that the Temperature Adjustment Knobs on the front of the
unit are both on ‘0’.

3. Plug into a 120 Volt A.C. wall outlet.
4. Place lled cookware on the burner. NOTE: DO NOT operate the
burner without lled cookware on the burner. Always use a pot or
pan that is similar in size to the burner. Center the pot or pan on the
burner.
5. Turn the Temperature Control Knob(s) clockwise to desired setting.
6. Each burner is equipped with its own Temperature Control Knob and
Indicator Light. The Indicator Light(s) will glow and go ‘on’ and ‘o’
as the selected temperature is automatically maintained.
7. When nished cooking, always turn the appliance o by turning the
Temperature Control Knobs to the ‘0’ position. Unplug the unit from
the wall outlet.
CAUTION: Allow the unit to cool completely before handling. The
burners will remain hot for at least 1 hour.
IMPORTANT:
DO NOT preheat before using.
DO NOT switch on before filled cookware is placed on the burner.
ALWAYS hold cookware handle(s) when stirring foods/liquids.
• The wattage of the small element is 600 W and the large element is
1200 W.
This appliance is 120V. Please do not compare this appliance to your
regular stove (240V) which is double the power of this hotplate.
For best results using your hotplate:
ALWAYS USE COOKWARE WITH A FLAT BOTTOM.
• Make sure the diameter of your cookware is close in size to the
element you are using. Avoid over-sized cookware.
• When trying to boil water, use a lid on your cookware.
