General Power Tool Safety Warnings
WARNING:
• Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations and specications provided with
this power tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock,
re and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference
The term “power tool” in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or
battery-operated (cordless) power tool.
Work Area Safety
• Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
• Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of ammable
liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks, which may ignite the dust or fumes.
• Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can
cause you to lose control.
Electrical Safety
• Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use
any adaptor plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodied plugs and matching
outlets will reduce the risk of electric shock.
• Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators,
ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is
earthed or grounded.

Personal Safety

• Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a
key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury.
• Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better
control of the power tool in unexpected situations.
• Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair and clothing
away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry or long hair can be caught in moving
parts.
• If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities,
ensure that these are connected and properly used. Use of dust collection can reduce
dust-related hazards
• Do not let familiarity gained from frequent use of tools allow you to become

Power tool use and care
• Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The
correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.
• Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that
cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
• Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or remove the battery pack, if detachable,
from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing
power tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool
accidentally.
• Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons
unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power
tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
• Maintain power tools and accessories. Check for misalignment or binding of moving
parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the power tool’s
operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are
caused by poorly maintained power tools.

• Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry, clean and free from oil and grease. Slippery
handles and grasping surfaces do not allow for safe handling and control of the tool in
unexpected situations.
Battery Tool Use and Care
• Recharge only with the charger specied by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable
for one type of battery pack may create a risk of re when used with another battery pack.
• Use power tools only with specically designated battery packs. Use of any other
battery packs may create a risk of injury and re.

• When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper
clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects, that can make a
connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may
cause burns or a re.
• Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If
contact accidentally occurs, ush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek
medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns
• Do not use a battery pack or tool that is damaged or modied. Damaged or modied
batteries may exhibit unpredictable behavior resulting in re, explosion or risk of injury.
• Do not expose a battery pack or tool to re or excessive temperature. Exposure to re
or temperature above 265 °F (130 °C) may cause explosion.
• Follow all charging instructions and do not charge the battery pack or tool outside
the temperature range specied in the instructions. Charging improperly or at
temperatures outside the specied range may damage the battery and increase the risk of
re.
Service
• Have your power tool serviced by a qualied repair person using only identical
replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
• Never service damaged battery packs. Service of battery packs should only be performed
by the manufacturer or authorized service providers.
Specic Safety Warnings for Reciprocating Saws
• Hold the power tool by insulated gripping surfaces, when performing an operation
where the cutting accessory may contact hidden wiring. Cutting accessory contacting
a “live” wire may make exposed metal parts of the power tool “live” and could give the
operator an electric shock.

• Use clamps or another practical way to secure and support the workpiece to a stable
platform. Holding the workpiece by hand or against your body leaves it unstable and may
lead to loss of control.
• Keep hands away from cutting area. Do not reach under the material being cut. The
proximity of the blade to your hand is hidden from your sight.
• Always disconnect the battery pack before changing the saw blade.
• Make certain that all adjusting levers and the blade holder are tight before making a cut.
Loose adjusting levers and holders can cause the tool or blade to slip. Loss of control may
result.
• Check that the switch is off before attaching the battery pack. Accidental starting could
cause injury.
• Never touch the saw blade after immediate use. It may be hot after prolonged use.
• Always wear safety goggles or eye protection when using this tool. Use a dust mask or
respirator or connect the tool to an external dust vacuum if cutting generates a great amount
of dust.
PREPARATION
Know Your Reciprocating Saw
This reciprocating saw can be used for the purpose listed: cutting wood products, plastics
and metals. Before attempting to use the reciprocating saw, familiarize yourself with all of its
operating features and safety requirements.
WARNING:
• Do not allow familiarity with the tool to cause carelessness. Remember that one careless
moment is enough to cause severe injury. Before attempting to use any tool, be sure to
become familiar with all of the operating features and safety instructions.
• Do not attempt to modify this tool or create accessories not recommended for use with this
tool. Any such alteration or modication is misuse and could result in a hazardous condition
leading to possible serious personal injury.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. To Attach Battery Pack
a. Press the switch-lock button (D) to the lock
position.
b. Align the raised portion on the battery pack with
the grooves on the bottom of the tool, then slide
the battery pack onto the tool, as shown.
c. Make sure that the latches on the battery pack
snap into place and the battery pack is secured
to the tool before beginning operation.
NOTICE: When placing the battery pack on the tool,
be sure that the raised rib on the battery pack aligns
with the groove on the tool and the latches snap into
place properly. Improper assembly of the battery
pack can cause damage to internal components.
To Detach Battery Pack
a. Press the switch-lock button (D) to the lock position
.
b. Press the battery-release buttons to release the battery pack.
c. Pull the battery pack backward to remove it from the tool.
WARNING:
• Battery tools are always in operating condition. Therefore, always press the switch lock
button marked to lock the switch when the saw is not in use or when carrying the saw at
your side.
2. Blade Selection
To obtain the best performance from the saw,
it is important to select the correct blade for the
application and type of material to be cut.
Blades with fewer teeth, e.g., 10 teeth per inch
(TPI), are typically used for cutting wood; blades
with more teeth are better for cutting metal or plastic.
We recommend 14 TPI blades for plastics and soft
metals and 18 TPI blades for hard metals.
WARNING:
• Use only a standard reciprocating saw blade.
Never try to use T- or U-shaped jig saw blade.
Failure to heed this warning could cause loss of
control and can result in possible serious injury.
a. Check whether the blade clamp (E) is fully extended (close to the shoe (E) and easily
accessible. If it is, proceed to step ‘d’ directly.
b. If the blade clamp is not fully extended, attach the battery pack.
c. Press the switch-lock button down to speed range “1”. Pull the trigger gently until the
clamp is fully extended.
d. Remove the battery pack from the saw.
e. Rotate the sleeve of the blade clamp (E) counterclockwise to open the clamp.

f. Insert the saw blade (G) into the blade clamp as far as it will go and release the sleeve to
lock the blade in position.
g. Check that the blade is securely attached.
Removing the Saw Blade
WARNING:
• The saw blade may be very hot after use. Allow the blade to cool down or wear gloves when
removing a saw blade.
a. Rotate the sleeve of the blade clamp (E) counterclockwise to open the clamp.
b. Remove the saw blade (G) from the blade clamp.
WARNING:
• The saw blade may be very hot after use. Allow the blade to cool down or wear gloves when
removing a saw blade.
• Use only a standard reciprocating saw blade. Never try to use T- or U-shaped jig saw
blades. Failure to heed this warning could cause loss of control and can result in possible
serious injury.
3. Variable-Speed Trigger and Switch-Lock
Button (Speed Range Control Button)
Your reciprocating saw is equipped with a variable-
speed trigger switch (C) to turn the saw on and off
and to control the speed. The switch-lock button
(D) can lock the switch in the off position. It also
provides two speed ranges: “1” for low speed and
“2” for high speed.
a. To turn the saw ON, press the trigger-lock
button according to the speed range you need,
and then squeeze the variable-speed trigger
switch.
b. To turn it OFF, release the trigger switch. Press
the trigger-lock button to the middle position
marked
to lock the switch OFF and reduce
the chance of unintentionally starting the tool.
c. To vary the speed within the speed range, simply increase or decrease the pressure on
the variable-speed trigger switch. The more the variable speed trigger switch is pulled, the
higher the speed will be.

4. LED Worklight
The LED work light (B), located on the front of the
saw, automatically turns on with a slight squeeze
of the trigger switch before the tool starts running.
This provides additional light on the surface of the
workpiece for operation in lower-light conditions.
The LED work light will turn off approximately 10
seconds after the trigger switch is released.
a. The LED work light will go out if the tool has
automatically stopped working because of an
overload or overheating, or when the battery
charge is very low.
5. Shoe Adjustment
For maximum control and longer blade life, the shoe
(A) slides in or out to provide support through the
effective stroke length.
a. Remove the battery pack from the saw.
b. Press the shoe-release button (F) to release the
shoe (A).
c. Pull the shoe to the desired position.
d. Release the shoe-release button to its original
position to lock the shoe.
WARNING:
• Do not push the shoe-release button while
sawing. It will cause the shoe to release from the
desired position and cause loss of control and
injury.
• To reduce the risk of injury, be sure the blade
extends beyond the shoe and all the way through
the workpiece throughout the entire stroke. Blade
may shatter if it hits the shoe or the workpiece.
Pivoting the Shoe
The shoe (A) pivots to provide maximum contact
with the surface being cut.
a. Hold the saw securely, and then manually pivot
the shoe to the desired angle.
WARNING:
• To avoid injury and damage, do not operate the
saw without the shoe in place. The shaft may strike against the workpiece and damage the
reciprocating mechanism.

6. General Cutting
WARNING:
• Before attaching the battery pack to the tool,
always check to determine that the switch
performs properly and returns to the OFF position
when released.
• Hold the tool only by the plastic handle and the
insulated grip area to help prevent electric shock.
You may encounter electrical wiring when sawing
into walls or oors. Sawing into a “live” wire will
cause electric shock.
a. Remove the battery pack from the saw.
b. Make sure that the workpiece is rmly clamped
in place.
c. Use the appropriate type and size of blade for the workpiece material and size.
d. Check for clearance behind the workpiece so that the blade will not impact another
surface.
e. Mark the line of cut clearly. If cutting metal, apply cutting oil to the line.
f. Attach the battery pack to the saw.
g. Hold the saw rmly with both hands and away from you. Make sure to keep your hands on
the insulated gripping areas only.
h. Press the switch-lock button (D) to unlock the trigger switch (C) and select a desired
speed range. Squeeze the variable-speed trigger switch to start the saw and bring it to the
maximum desired cutting speed before applying the blade to the workpiece.
i. Place the shoe (A) rmly on the workpiece while cutting. Use only enough steady pressure
on the blade to keep the saw cutting; do not force the tool.
j. Reduce pressure as the blade comes to the end of the cut.
k. Allow the saw to come to a complete stop before removing the blade from the workpiece.
l. When sawing berglass, plaster, wallboard, or spackling compound, clean the ventilation
slots frequently with a vacuum or compressed air. These materials are highly abrasive and
may accelerate the wear on motor parts.
WARNING:
• Always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields when using compressed air
to clean the tool. If the operation is dusty, also wear a dust mask.
NOTICE: Cutting speeds should vary depending on the material to be cut. Hard materials,
such as metals, require lower speeds. For softer materials, use higher speeds. Do not force
the saw. Let the blade and saw do the work.

7. Plunge Cutting
Your reciprocating saw is ideal for plunge cutting
directly into surfaces that cannot be cut from an
edge, such as in walls or oors.
WARNING:
• Do not plunge cut into metal surfaces.
• To reduce the risk of explosion, electric shock and
property damage, always check the work area for
hidden gas pipes, electrical wires or water pipes
when making blind or plunge cuts.
• To avoid loss of control and serious injury, make
sure that the blade reaches maximum speed
before it touches the workpiece.
a. Remove the battery pack from the saw.
b. Make sure that the workpiece is rmly clamped in place.
c. Use the appropriate type and size of blade for the workpiece material and size.
d. Check for clearance behind the workpiece so that the blade will not impact another
surface.
e. Attach the battery pack to the saw.
f. Hold the tool rmly, resting the edge of the shoe (A) on the workpiece.
g. With the blade just above the workpiece, press the switch-lock button (D) to unlock the
trigger switch (C) and select a speed range. Squeeze the variable-speed trigger switch to
start the saw and bring it to the maximum desired cutting speed.
h. Use the edge of the shoe as a pivot and raise the gripping handle of the tool slowly. As the
blade starts cutting, plunging the blade into the workpiece until the shoe rests rmly on the
workpiece.
i. After the blade has penetrated through the workpiece and the shoe fully rested on the
workpiece, continue sawing along the marked cutting line.
8. Metal Cutting
The saw can be used to cut metals, such as sheet steel, pipe, steel rods, aluminum, brass,
and copper. Be careful not to twist or bend the saw blade. Do not force the tool.
The use of cutting oil is recommended when cutting soft metals and steel. Cutting oil will keep
the blade cool, increase cutting action, and prolong blade life.
WARNING:
• Never use gasoline, because normal sparking could ignite the fumes.
a. Securely clamp the workpiece in position and make the cut close to the clamping point to
minimize vibration.
b. When cutting conduit pipe or angle iron, clamp the workpiece in a vise, if possible, and cut
close to the vise.
c. To cut thin sheet material, “sandwich” the material between pieces of hardboard or
plywood and clamp the layers together to reduce vibration and tearing of the material.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
All maintenance should only be carried out by a qualied service technician.
Cleaning
Before cleaning or performing any maintenance, remove battery from the tool. For safe and
proper operation, always keep the tool and its ventilation slots clean.
Always use only a soft, dry cloth to clean your impact driver; never use detergent or alcohol.
TROUBLESHOOTING
WARNING:
• Before performing troubleshooting procedures, release the trigger switch, press the trigger-
lock button to the middle position marked
to lock the switch OFF, and remove battery
from the tool.

ADVERTENCIA

Guarde todas las advertencias e instrucciones para referencia futura
El término “herramienta eléctrica” que aparece en las advertencias hace referencia a la
herramienta eléctrica que se conecta a la línea principal (con cable) o a la herramienta
eléctrica que funciona a batería (inalámbrica).
Seguridad en el área de trabajo
• Mantenga el área de trabajo limpia y bien iluminada. Las áreas oscuras o desordenadas

Seguridad eléctrica
• Los enchufes de las herramientas eléctricas deben encajar en el tomacorriente.
No modique el enchufe de ninguna manera. No utilice ningún enchufe adaptador
cuando opere herramientas eléctricas con puesta a tierra. Los enchufes originales y
que encajan adecuadamente en los tomacorrientes reducen el riesgo de descarga eléctrica.
• Evite el contacto del cuerpo con supercies conectadas a tierra, como tuberías,
radiadores, extractores o refrigeradores. Existe un riesgo adicional de descarga eléctrica
si su cuerpo tiene conexión a tierra.
• No exponga las herramientas eléctricas a la lluvia o a condiciones de humedad. Si
ingresa agua en una herramienta eléctrica, aumentará el riesgo de sufrir una descarga
eléctrica.
• No maltrate el cable. Nunca use el cable para transportar, jalar ni desenchufar la

Seguridad personal
• Manténgase alerta, preste atención a lo que hace y utilice el sentido común cuando
utilice una herramienta eléctrica. No utilice una herramienta eléctrica si está cansado
o bajo los efectos de drogas, alcohol o medicamentos. Un momento de desatención
mientras opera herramientas eléctricas puede provocar lesiones graves.
• Use un equipo de protección personal. Use siempre lentes de protección. Los

Uso y cuidado de las herramientas eléctricas
• No fuerce la herramienta eléctrica. Utilice la herramienta eléctrica adecuada para su
aplicación. La herramienta eléctrica adecuada realizará un trabajo más seguro y de mejor
calidad para el cual se diseñó.
• No utilice la herramienta eléctrica si el interruptor no la enciende o apaga. Cualquier
herramienta eléctrica que no pueda controlarse con el interruptor es peligrosa y debe
repararse.
• Desconecte el enchufe de la fuente de alimentación o retire el paquete de baterías de la
herramienta eléctrica (si es posible) antes de realizar cualquier ajuste, cambiar accesorios o
almacenar herramientas eléctricas. Este tipo de medidas de seguridad preventivas reduce
el riesgo de arranques accidentales de la herramienta eléctrica.
• Almacene las herramientas eléctricas que no estén en uso fuera del alcance de
los niños y no permita que personas no familiarizadas con la herramienta o estas
instrucciones la operen. Las herramientas eléctricas son peligrosas en manos de usuarios
sin capacitación.
• Realice mantenimiento a las herramientas eléctricas y a los accesorios. Revise si

Uso y cuidado de herramientas a batería
• Recárguela solo con el cargador especicado por el fabricante. Un cargador adecuado
para un tipo de paquete de baterías puede crear un riesgo de incendio cuando se usa con
otro paquete de baterías diferente.
• Use herramientas eléctricas solo con paquetes de baterías designados
especícamente. El uso de cualquier otro paquete de baterías puede crear un riesgo de
lesión e incendio.

• Cuando el paquete de baterías no está en uso, aléjelo de objetos metálicos, como
sujetapapeles, monedas, llaves, clavos, tornillos u otros objetos metálicos pequeños
que pudieran crear una conexión entre los terminales. El cortocircuito de los terminales
de la batería puede causar quemaduras o un incendio.
• En condiciones de maltrato, es posible que salga líquido de la batería. Evite el
contacto. Si se produce un contacto accidental, enjuague con agua. Si el líquido
entra en contacto con los ojos, solicite atención médica. El líquido que sale de la
batería puede provocar irritación o quemaduras.
• No use paquetes de baterías ni herramientas si están dañadas o modicadas. Las
baterías dañadas o modicadas pueden mostrar una conducta impredecible que podría
provocar incendios, explosiones o riesgo de lesiones.
• No exponga el paquete de baterías ni la herramienta al fuego o a una temperatura
excesiva. La exposición al fuego o a temperaturas por encima de los 130 °C (265 °F)
podría causar una explosión.
• Siga todas las instrucciones de carga y no cargue el paquete de baterías ni la
herramienta fuera del rango de temperatura especicado en las instrucciones. La
carga inadecuada o a temperaturas fuera del rango especicado podría dañar la batería y
aumentar el riesgo de incendio.
Reparación
• Permita que solo una persona capacitada repare la herramienta eléctrica, mediante
el uso solo de piezas de repuesto idénticas. Esto garantizará que se mantenga la
seguridad de la herramienta eléctrica.
• Nunca realice el mantenimiento de los paquetes de baterías dañados. Solo el
fabricante o los proveedores de servicio autorizados pueden realizar el mantenimiento de
los paquetes de baterías.
Advertencias de seguridad especícas para las sierras de alternativas
• Sostenga la herramienta eléctrica por las supercies de agarre aisladas al realizar
una operación en la que el accesorio de corte pueda entrar en contacto con
cableado oculto. Es posible que un accesorio de corte que entre en contacto con un cable
“energizado” también “energice” las piezas de metal expuestas de la herramienta eléctrica y
provoque una descarga eléctrica al operador.
• Use abrazaderas u otro método práctico para asegurar y sostener la pieza de trabajo
en una plataforma estable. Sostener la pieza de trabajo con una sola mano o apoyada en
el cuerpo es inestable y puede causar pérdida de control.
• Mantenga las manos alejadas del área de corte. No toque el área debajo del material
que está cortando. La proximidad de la hoja con su mano estará oculta a la vista.
• Desconecte siempre el paquete de baterías antes de cambiar la hoja de la sierra.
• Asegúrese de que todas las palancas de ajuste y el soporte de la hoja estén rmes antes
de realizar un corte. Las palancas de ajuste y los soportes ojos pueden hacer que la
herramienta o la cuchilla resbalen. Se puede perder el control.
• Verique que el interruptor esté en la posición OFF (apagado) antes de instalar un
paquete de baterías. Los arranques accidentales pueden provocar lesiones.
• Nunca toque la hoja de la sierra inmediatamente después de usarla. Es posible que
esté caliente si la usó durante un tiempo prolongado.
• Use siempre gafas de seguridad o lentes de protección cuando utilice esta
herramienta. Use una mascarilla antipolvo o un respirador, o conecte la herramienta a una
aspiradora de polvo externa si al cortar se genera una gran cantidad de polvo.

PREPARACIÓN
Conozca su sierra alternativa
Esta sierra alternativa se puede utilizar para los nes enumerados: cortar productos de
madera, plásticos y metales. Antes de intentar utilizar la sierra alternativa, familiarícese con
todas las funciones de operación y los requisitos de seguridad.
ADVERTENCIA
• Sea cuidadoso, incluso si está familiarizado con la herramienta. Recuerde que un
momento de descuido es suciente para causar lesiones graves. Antes de intentar utilizar
una herramienta, asegúrese de familiarizarse con todas las funciones de operación e
instrucciones de seguridad.
• No intente modicar esta herramienta ni crear accesorios que no sean los recomendados
para esta. Cualquier alteración o modicación se considera un uso indebido y podría causar
una situación peligrosa que provoque lesiones personales graves.

1. Para jar el paquete de baterías
a. Presione el botón de bloqueo del interruptor (D)
en la posición de bloqueo.
b. Alinee la parte elevada del paquete de baterías
con las ranuras de la parte inferior de la
herramienta y luego deslice el paquete de
baterías en la herramienta, como se muestra.
c. Asegúrese de que los pestillos del paquete de
baterías encajen en su lugar y que el paquete
de baterías esté jo en la herramienta antes de
comenzar la operación.
AVISO: cuando coloque el paquete de baterías
en la herramienta, asegúrese de que la varilla
elevada del paquete de baterías se alinee con la
ranura de la herramienta y que los pestillos encajen
en su lugar de manera correcta. El ensamblaje
inadecuado del paquete de baterías puede provocar daños a los componentes internos.
Para retirar el paquete de baterías
a. Presione el botón de bloqueo del interruptor (D) en la posición de bloqueo
.
b. Presione los botones de liberación de la batería para poder retirar el paquete de baterías.
c. Jale el paquete de baterías hacia atrás para retirarlo de la herramienta.
ADVERTENCIA
• Las herramientas con batería siempre están en condiciones de operación. Por lo tanto,
presione siempre el botón de bloqueo del interruptor marcado para bloquear el
interruptor cuando la sierra no se encuentre en uso o al transportar la sierra a su lado.
2. Selección de la hoja
Para obtener el mejor rendimiento de la sierra,
es importante seleccionar la hoja correcta para la
aplicación especíca y el tipo de material que desea
cortar.
Las hojas con menos dientes, por ejemplo, 10
dientes por pulgada (TPI, por sus siglas en inglés)
normalmente se usan para cortar madera; las hojas
con más dientes son mejores para cortar metal
o plástico. Recomendamos hojas de 14 TPI para
plásticos y metales suaves, y hojas de 18 TPI para
metales duros.
ADVERTENCIA
• Use solo una hoja de sierra alternativa estándar.
Nunca intente usar una hoja de sierra de vaivén en forma de T o de U. No seguir esta
advertencia podría provocar la pérdida de control y producir lesiones graves.
a. Compruebe si la abrazadera de la hoja (E) está completamente extendida (cerca de la
zapata (E) y de fácil acceso. Si es así, proceda directamente al paso ‘d’.
b. Si la abrazadera de la hoja no está completamente extendida, coloque la batería.

d. Retire el paquete de baterías de la sierra.
e. Gire el manguito alrededor de la abrazadera de la hoja (E) en dirección contraria a las
manecillas del reloj para abrir la abrazadera.
f. Inserte la hoja de sierra (G) en la abrazadera de la hoja hasta donde se pueda y libere el
manguito para jar la hoja en su lugar.
g. Asegúrese de que la hoja quede rmemente jada.
Retiro de la hoja de sierra
ADVERTENCIA
• La hoja de sierra puede estar muy caliente después de usarla. Permita que la hoja se enfríe
o use guantes al retirarla de la sierra.
a. Gire el manguito alrededor de la abrazadera de la hoja (E) en dirección contraria a las
manecillas del reloj para abrir la abrazadera.
b. Retire la hoja de sierra (G) de la abrazadera de la hoja.

• La hoja de sierra puede estar muy caliente después de usarla. Permita que la hoja se enfríe
o use guantes al retirarla de la sierra.
• Use solo una hoja de sierra alternativa estándar. Nunca intente usar hojas de sierra de

3. Gatillo de velocidad variable y botón de
bloqueo del interruptor (botón de control de
rango de velocidad)
La sierra alternativa está equipada con un
interruptor tipo gatillo de velocidad variable (C)
para encender y apagar la sierra, y para controlar
la velocidad. El botón de bloqueo del interruptor (D)
se utiliza para bloquear el interruptor en la posición
de apagado. También proporciona dos rangos de
velocidad: “1” para baja velocidad y “2” para alta
velocidad.
a. Para encender la sierra, presione el botón
de bloqueo del gatillo para desbloquear
el interruptor de acuerdo con el rango de
velocidad que necesite, y luego, apriete el
interruptor tipo gatillo de velocidad variable.
b. Para apagarlo, suelte el interruptor tipo gatillo. Presione el botón de bloqueo del gatillo a la
posición media marcada
para bloquear el interruptor en posición de apagado y reducir
la posibilidad de un arranque accidental de la herramienta.
c. Para variar la velocidad dentro del rango, simplemente aumente o disminuya la presión
en el interruptor tipo gatillo de velocidad variable. Mientras más apriete el interruptor tipo
gatillo de velocidad variable, mayor será la velocidad.

4. Luz de trabajo LED
La luz de trabajo LED (B) que se encuentra al
frente de la sierra se encenderá automáticamente
con una ligera presión en el interruptor tipo gatillo
de velocidad variable, antes de que la herramienta
comience a funcionar. Esto brinda más iluminación
en la supercie de la pieza de trabajo para usar la
herramienta en condiciones de poca iluminación.
La luz de trabajo LED se apagará aproximadamente
10 segundos después de que suelte el interruptor
tipo gatillo.
a. La luz de trabajo LED se apagará si
la herramienta ha dejado de funcionar
automáticamente debido a una sobrecarga o
sobrecalentamiento, o cuando la carga de la
batería es muy baja.
5. Ajuste de la zapata
Para un máximo control y una mayor vida útil de
la hoja, la zapata (A) se desliza hacia adentro o
hacia afuera para proveer apoyo durante el largo de
recorrido.
a. Retire el paquete de baterías de la sierra.
b. Presione el botón de liberación de la zapata (F),
para liberar la zapata (A).
c. Jale la base a la posición deseada.
d. Suelte el botón de liberación de la zapata a su
posición original para bloquear la zapata.
ADVERTENCIA
• No presione el botón de liberación de la zapata
mientras corta. Hará que la zapata se suelte de la
posición deseada y cause pérdida de control y lesiones.
• Para reducir el riesgo de lesiones, asegúrese
de que la hoja se extienda más allá de la zapata
y atraviese la pieza de trabajo durante todo el
recorrido. Las cuchillas se pueden quebrar si
golpean la zapata o la pieza de trabajo.
Giro de la base de apoyo
La zapata (A) gira para proporcionar el máximo
contacto con la supercie que se desea cortar.
a. Sostenga la sierra rmemente y luego gire la
zapata de manera manual al ángulo deseado.
ADVERTENCIA
• Para evitar lesiones y daños, no opere la sierra si la zapata no está en su lugar. El eje
puede chocar con la pieza de trabajo y dañar el mecanismo de movimiento alternativo.

6. Cortes en general
ADVERTENCIA
• Antes de instalar el paquete de baterías en la
herramienta, siempre revise si el interruptor
funciona bien y si se devuelve a la posición OFF
(apagado) al soltarlo.
• Sostenga la herramienta solo de la manija
de plástico y del área de agarre aislada para
evitar descargas eléctricas. Al cortar paredes o
pisos, es posible que se encuentre con cables
eléctricos. Cortar cables energizados provocará
descargas eléctricas.
a. Retire el paquete de baterías de la sierra.
b. Asegúrese de que la pieza de trabajo esté
rmemente sujetada en su lugar.
c. Use el tipo y el tamaño adecuado de hoja para el material y el tamaño de la pieza de
trabajo.
d. Verique el espacio detrás de la pieza de trabajo de modo que la hoja no impacte otra
supercie.
e. Marque claramente la línea de corte. Si corta metal, aplique aceite de corte en la línea.
f. Fije el paquete de baterías a la sierra.
g. Sostenga la sierra rmemente con ambas manos y alejada de su cuerpo. Asegúrese de
mantener las manos solo en las áreas de agarre aisladas.
h. Presione el botón de bloqueo del interruptor (D) para desbloquear el interruptor tipo gatillo
(C) y elija el rango de velocidad deseado. Apriete el interruptor tipo gatillo para arrancar
la sierra y llevarla a la máxima velocidad de corte deseada antes de acercar la hoja a la
pieza de trabajo.
i. Coloque la zapata (A) rmemente en la pieza de trabajo mientras corta. Utilice solo la
suciente presión constante en la hoja para mantener la sierra cortando; no fuerce la
herramienta.
j. Disminuya la presión a medida que la hoja se acerca al nal del corte.
k. Deje que la sierra se detenga completamente antes de retirar la hoja de la pieza de
trabajo.
l. Cuando corte bra de vidrio, yeso, tabla de bra prensada o compuesto de relleno, limpie
los conductos de ventilación del motor frecuentemente con una aspiradora o con aire
comprimido. Estos materiales son altamente abrasivos y pueden acelerar el desgaste de
las partes del motor.
ADVERTENCIA
• Use siempre gafas de seguridad con protectores laterales cuando use aire comprimido
para limpiar la herramienta. Si hay demasiado polvo durante la operación, use también una
mascarilla antipolvo.
AVISO: las velocidades de corte deben variar según el material a cortar. Los materiales
duros, como los metales, requieren velocidades más bajas. Para materiales más blandos, use
velocidades más altas. No fuerce la sierra. Deje que la hoja y la sierra hagan el trabajo.

7. Cortes con perforación
La sierra alternativa es ideal para realizar cortes
a profundidad directamente en supercies que no
se pueden cortar desde un borde, como en las
paredes o los pisos.
ADVERTENCIA
• No realice cortes a profundidad en supercies de
metal.
• Para disminuir el riesgo de explosiones,
descargas eléctricas y daños materiales, siempre
revise el área de trabajo en busca de tuberías

(D) para desbloquear el interruptor tipo gatillo (C) y seleccione un rango de velocidad.
Apriete el interruptor tipo gatillo para encender la sierra y llevarla a la máxima velocidad
de corte deseada.
h. Use el borde de la zapata como pivote y eleve la manija de agarre de la herramienta
lentamente. A medida que la hoja comience a cortar, inserte la hoja en la pieza de trabajo
hasta que la zapata se apoye rmemente en esta.
i. Después de que la hoja haya penetrado en la pieza de trabajo y la zapata se encuentre en
su totalidad sobre dicha pieza, continúe cortando a lo largo de la línea de corte marcada.

8. Corte de metal
La sierra se puede utilizar para cortar metales, como acero laminado, tuberías, varillas de
acero, aluminio, latón y cobre. Tenga cuidado de no torcer ni doblar la hoja de la sierra. No
fuerce la herramienta.
Se recomienda utilizar aceite de corte al cortar metales suaves y acero. El aceite de corte
mantendrá la hoja fría, aumentará la acción de corte y prolongará la vida útil de la hoja.
ADVERTENCIA
• Nunca utilice gasolina, ya que las chispas normales podrían encender los gases.
a. Asegure la pieza de trabajo con abrazaderas y realice el corte cerca del punto de sujeción
para minimizar la vibración.
b. Al cortar tuberías de conductos o perles en ángulo, je la pieza de trabajo en una prensa
de tornillo, si es posible, y corte cerca de la prensa de tornillo.
c. Para cortar materiales en láminas delgadas, “aprisione” el material entre trozos de madera
prensada o madera contrachapada, y je las capas juntas para disminuir la vibración y las
rasgaduras del material.

Limpieza
Antes de limpiar o realizar cualquier mantenimiento, retire la batería de la herramienta. Para
