2.2 Specication
2.1 Intended Use
This product is designed to swiftly & eortlessly pinpoints
the source of automotive noises & vibrations. Useful for
fault nding on engines, gearboxes and bearings when
ambient noises are extreme. Equipped with a volume
control, set of headphones & extra-long probe for
restricted areas.
Any other application beyond the conditions established
for use will be considered misuse. Draper Tools accepts no
responsibility for improper use of this product.

• Wear suitable eye protection.
• Ensure the cable and probe cannot come into contact
with moving parts.
WARNING! DO NOT attempt to repair or service
unless qualied to do so.
• Tester is not waterproof. DO NOT allow water inside
the case.
• DO NOT allow untrained persons to operate the tester.
• DO NOT allow children to play with the tester.
• DO NOT use this device if the tester, leads or probe
are damaged in any way or if there is evidence of
battery leakage.
• The battery must be replaced with one with the same
specication.
•  When replacing the battery check that it is tted in
the correct +/- orientation.
• Remove the battery when storing the tester for
extended periods.
• DO NOT store in a place of high temperature or
humidity.

Carefully remove the product from the packaging and
examine it for any signs of damage that may have
occurred during shipment.
Before assembling the product, lay the contents out and
check them against the parts shown below. If any part is
damaged or missing, do not attempt to use the product.

6. Installing the battery
7. Operation
1. Unclip the battery compartment and t
1X 9V battery (not supplied).
• Ensure the correct +/- orientation.
• If the indicator light (6) is not on replace the battery.

Important: Before operating this product, read and
understand all the safety instructions listed in this
manual. Ensure that the product is fully assembled and
correctly prepared for use.

1. Plug the headphones into the port (4).

2. Screw the probe (1) into the probe port (2).

3. Rotate the thumb wheel (5) to turn on the probe and
adjust the volume – the battery light (6) will come on
when tester is switched on. Rotate halfway for the
clearest sound and least amount of background
noise.

• Wipe the case with a damp cloth and a mild detergent. DO NOT use solvents or abrasives to clean the tester.
• At the end of its working life, dispose of the product responsibly and in line with local Regulations. Recycle where
possible.
• DO NOT burn or mutilate batteries; this may release toxic or corrosive substances.
• DO NOT dispose of this product with domestic waste; most local authorities provide appropriate recycling facilities.
