When using electrical appliances, basic safety
precautions should always be taken to reduce the risk

1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS.

the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn power o, then
remove plug from wall outlet.
13. Scalding may occur if the lter chamber is opened
during the brewing cycle.
14. Do not use appliance for anything other than its
intended use.
15. Do not overll the water reservoir with water.
Use only water in this appliance! Do not put any
other liquids or foods in the water reservoir
except as instructed in the cleaning instructions
in this guide.
16. Do not clean drip tray with cleaners, steel wool
pads, or other abrasive materials.

18. Avoid contact with moving parts.
19. Check grinder basket for the presence
of foreign objects before using.
20. Use the coee grinder to grind roasted coee
beans only. Grinding other substances, such as
nuts, spices, or unroasted beans, may dull the
blade and cause poor grinding or injury.
21. Do not place a cloth or otherwise restrict airow
beneath coee maker.
22. Do not operate your appliance in an appliance
garage or under a wall cabinet. When storing in an
appliance garage, always unplug the unit from the
electrical outlet. Not doing so could create a risk
of re, especially if the appliance touches the
walls of the garage or the door touches the unit as
it closes.
23. Warning: To avoid the risk of injury, do not open
the brewing chamber during the brewing process.

Special Cord Set
Instructions
A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the
risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping
over a longer cord.
Longer extension cords may be used if care is
exercised in their use.
If an extension cord is used, the marked electrical
rating of the extension cord must be at least as great
as the electrical rating of the appliance, and the longer
cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over
the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on
by children or tripped over.
Notice
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider
than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock,
this plug will t into a polarized outlet only one way.
If the plug does not t fully into the outlet, reverse
the plug. If it still does not t, contact a qualied
electrician. Do not modify the plug in any way.

Instructions
1. Place the box on a large, sturdy, at surface.
2. Remove any literature.
3. Turn the box so that the back side of the coee
maker is down and slide the coee maker from
the box.
4. After removing the coee maker, move the box out
of the way and place the inserts back into the box.
5. Remove the polybag covering the coee maker. We
suggest you save all packing materials in the event
that future shipping of the machine is needed.
Keep all plastic bags away from children.
The Quest
for the Perfect
Cup of Coffee
Element 1 – Water
Coee is 98% water. The quality of that water is
as important as the quality of your coee. If
water doesn’t taste good from the tap, it won’t
taste good in your coee. Cuisinart includes a
charcoal water lter to remove chlorine, bad
tastes, and odors for the purest coee avor
every time you brew.
Element 2 – Coffee
While coee is 98% water, the avor comes
mainly from the beans. To achieve the same
great taste you enjoy at a coee bar, buy only a
two-week supply of fresh coee beans at a time.
Once the bean is broken, its avor degrades
quickly. That’s why this coee maker grinds your
beans just prior to brewing.
Element 3 – Grind
A burr grinder produces maximum avor from
coee beans. The process actually crushes the
bean, to release more of the oils and avors that
create the best tasting coee. The texture of the
grind is critical. Too ne, and it may clog the
lter. Too coarse, and water passes through too
quickly to extract the full coee avor. Your
coee maker is preset for medium, the optimal
grind for this type of brewing process.
Element 4 – Proportion
Coee that is too strong or too weak is always a
disappointment. Your coee maker automatically
grinds the right amount of beans for the strength
level and number of cups you choose. If using
pre-ground coee, start by using 1 level scoop
(1 tablespoon) of ground coee per cup, and later
adjust the amount to your taste.

Getting to Know Your
Control Panel
1. Power/BrewButton
Used to turn the coee maker on/o and
begin brewing.
2. Clean Indicator
Indicator illuminates when it is time to decalcify
your coee maker.
3. Strength Button
Used to select strength (when making
coee using whole beans), Ground option and/or
Ice option.
3a. Mild, Med, Bold
Choose brew strength for whole-bean
grinding only.
3b. Ice
Adjusts brew process to maximize coee avor
ideal for iced coee. Brew strength not an option
for Ice.
• Ice brew sizes are approximately half the
amount of Hot brew sizes
3c. Ground
Choose to use pre-ground coee.
4. Size Button
Press to select brew size – 8, 10, 12, 16, 20,
and 24 oz.
5. Add Water Indicator
Indicator will illuminate white when water level is
low, or reservoir is removed. The indicator turns
o when the water reservoir is lled past
minimum level or when reservoir is placed
securely back in unit.
6. Add Bean Indicator
Indicator will illuminate white when coee beans
are low.

Inserting the
Water Filter
Your coee maker comes with a charcoal
water lter that eliminates chlorine, bad
tastes, and odors from tap water.
• Remove the lter from the polybag and
soak it, fully immersed, in cold tap water
for 15 minutes.
• Lift the water lter holder out of the
water reservoir.
• Press down on the lter compartment
and pull toward you to open.
• Place the lter into the holder and then snap
it closed. Be careful – improper placement
can tear the lter skin.
• Flush the lter by running cold tap water
through the holes in the bottom of the
compartment for 10 seconds.
• Allow the lter to drain completely.
• Slide the water lter holder back into the
channel in the water reservoir, pushing it
down to the base of the unit.
NOTE: We recommend changing the
water lter every 60 days or after 60 uses, and
more often if you have hard water.
Replacement lters can be purchased in
stores, by calling Cuisinart Consumer Service,
or at www.cuisinart.com.
Before Brewing Your First
Cup of Coffee
Initial Cleaning
Perform an initial cleaning before making your rst
beverage. Follow the instructions below without using
coee beans or grounds.
1. Remove the reservoir from the unit.
2. Fill the reservoir with water and replace back into
the unit.
3. Plug the power cord into an independent outlet.
Press the Power button to turn the unit on.
4. Open and close the lter basket door. Do not add
coee grounds.
5. Place a mug on the drip tray.
6. Press the Strength button until the Ground
indicator is illuminated and press the Size button
to select 10 oz.
7. Press the Power/Brew button to begin the brew
cycle. The indicator will start ashing and the hot
water will start to dispense momentarily.
8. When the one-time cleaning process is complete,
discard the hot water. Your coee maker is now
ready to use.

Making Coffee with
Whole Beans
When using the coee maker for the rst time follow
instructions in “Before Brewing Your First Cup of
Coee,” page 7.
Grinding to Brew Coffee
1. Remove the water reservoir and ll to max ll line.
Replace back into the unit. If water is lower than
minimum ll, the Add Water indicator light will
illuminate.
2. Remove the bean hopper lid and add beans. We
recommend keeping the hopper full to ensure there
are always enough beans for the number of cups
you want to brew.
Note: The hopper holds up to ½ lb (225 g) of beans.
The sealed lid keeps them fresh.
3. Press the lter basket door release button to
open door. Open the lter basket cover labeled 1 in
image below.
4. Insert the gold-tone commercial-style lter into
lter basket holder labeled 2 in image above. Close
the lter basket lid, and push the lter basket door
closed until you hear it snap shut.
Note: This unit ts a 4-cup basket paper lter.
If basket-style paper lter is used, be sure lter is
fully opened and touching walls of basket holder.
Note: The built-in safety interlock system will
not allow the unit to operate if the lter basket is
not in place, or if the door is not properly closed.
5. Press the Strength button to choose desired brew
strength and the indicator will illuminate.
a. To prepare coee over ice, press the Strength
button until the Ice indicator illuminates.
Note: Strength can't be adjusted when brewing
over ice.
6. After Strength is chosen, brew size can be selected
by pressing the Size button. Press the Size button
until desired brew size indicator is illuminated.
7. Add a mug to the drip tray. When brewing directly
into a travel mug, remove the drip tray rst.
8. Press the Power/Brew button to begin the brew
cycle. The indicator will start slowly ashing, and
coee will start to dispense momentarily.
Note: Brewing process can be stopped during
brewing. Simply press the Power/Brew to stop
brewing.
9. When the brewing process is complete, 5 beeps will
go o. The Strength indicator, the chosen size
option, and the Power/Brew button will remain
illuminated.
Note: Before brewing again, the Power/Brew button
will ash as a reminder to open the lter basket
door and then dispose of the used coee grounds.
No functions can be performed until this is done
after brewing.
Making Coffee
with Pre-Ground Coffee
When using the coee maker for the rst time follow
instructions in “Before Brewing Your First Cup of
Coee,” page 7.

The Power, Strength, and Size indicators will
illuminate.
3. Place mug on the drip tray.
Note: Adjust positioning of the mug depending on
size and the selected brew amount. Drip tray can
be removed to accommodate travel mugs.
4. Press the lter basket door release button to
open door. Open the lter basket cover labeled 1 in
image below.
5. Insert the gold-tone commercial-style lter into
lter basket holder labeled 2 in image above.
Note: This unit ts a 4-cup basket paper lter.
If basket-style paper lter is used, be sure lter is
fully opened and touching walls of basket holder.
6. Use 1 level scoop of ground coee per cup, or more
or less according to individual taste. Close the lter
basket cover and close lter door, making sure you
hear it snap shut.
Note: The built-in safety interlock system will
not allow the unit to operate if the lter basket is
not in place, or if the door is not properly closed.
Note: The maximum capacity for ground coee is 5
scoops. Exceeding that amount or using too ne a
grind of coee may cause the lter basket to
overow.
7. Press the Strength button to choose the Ground
option and the indicator will illuminate.
a. To prepare coee over ice, press the Strength
button until both the Ice and Ground indicators
illuminate.
Note: Strength can't be adjusted when brewing over
ice or making coee with grounds.
8. After Ground is chosen, brew size can be selected
by pressing the Size button. Press the Size button
until desired brew size indicator is illuminated.
9. Add a mug to the drip tray. When brewing directly
into a travel mug, remove the drip tray rst.
10. Press the Power/Brew button to begin the brew
cycle. The indicator will start slowly ashing, and
coee will start to dispense momentarily.
Note: Brewing process can be stopped during
brewing. Simply press the Power/Brew button to
stop brewing.
11. When the brewing process is complete, 5 beeps will
go o. The Ground indicator, the chosen size option,

Tips and Hints
• If you buy large portions of beans, separate them into
smaller portions and store them in airtight containers
in the freezer. Preserve freshness by minimizing
exposure to air, light, and moisture. Once beans are
removed from the freezer, keep them in a sealed
container at room temperature.
• Some experts feel freezing dark-roast beans can
cause oils to coagulate; others disagree. You’ll need
to decide for yourself!
Brewing Over Ice
The ICE feature adjusts the brew process to
maximize coee avor; ideal for making iced coee.
Either brew coee directly over ice or add ice to coee
after it is brewed.
Brew sizes in Ice mode are approximately half the size
of hot brew sizes to accommodate for ice melting
when brewed over ice.
1. Fill the water reservoir - Remove the water
reservoir and ll to max ll line. Replace back into
the unit. If water is lower than minimum ll, the
Add Water indicator light will illuminate.
2. Add ice - Fill a mug or cup of choice with ice.
Note: Adjust amount of ice based on personal
preference. Adding too much ice could impact the
overall avor of the coee.
3. Follow the steps for inserting the gold-tone
commercial-style lter in Making Coee with
Whole Beans (steps 3 & 4) or Making Coee with
Pre-Ground Coee (steps 4-6).

4. Choose preferences
a. Whole beans: Press the Strength button until
ONLY the Ice indicator is illuminated.
b. Pre-groundcoee: Press the Strength button
until Ice AND Ground indicators are illuminated.
Note: The strength options will not be available.
5. Brewing: Once brew preferences are chosen, press
the Power/Button to begin the cycle. The indicator
will start ashing.
a. If using whole beans, grinding will begin and
coee will then brew.
b. If using pre-ground coee, coee will begin to
dispense momentarily.
6. When the brewing process is complete, 5 beeps
will go o. The Ground and Ice indicators, the
chosen size option, and the Power/Brew button
will remain illuminated.
Note: Before brewing again, the Power/Brew button
will ash as a reminder to open the lter basket
door and then dispose of the used coee grounds.
No functions can be performed until this is done
after brewing.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Cleaning External Parts
We recommend regular cleaning of the coee maker’s
external components.
1. Never immerse the coee maker in water or
other liquids. The housing and other external
components may be cleaned with a soapy, damp,
nonabrasive cloth.
2. To remove the drip tray, simply pull it up, keeping it
level at all times in order to prevent spills. The drip
tray and drip tray plate are dishwasher safe. Do not
clean drip tray with cleaners, steel wool pads, or
other abrasive materials.
Cleaning the Coffee Ground Outlet
Coee grounds may adhere to the wall of the coee
ground outlet. Cleaning the outlet ensures that the
ground coee can be delivered to the brewing
chamber. Place a cup or container on drip tray and use
the brush on the end of the scoop to sweep out any
excess coee grounds stuck in outlet.
Cleaning the Bean Hopper &
Burr Grinder
Hopper
1. Power o and unplug unit.
2. Beans can be removed from the hopper by lifting
o the lid and rotating the knob to the unlock
position. Once unlocked, the hopper can be
removed to pour out remaining beans.
Burr Grinder
1. If some beans remain in the grinder, put the hopper
back on, re-insert the grind chamber, and run a
grind cycle for 16 oz. on any brew setting. Once
nished, you can continue cleaning as instructed.
2. Power o and unplug unit.
3. Remove the bean hopper lid and turn the
lock/unlock knob counterclockwise to release
the bean hopper.
Note: You will notice the release arrow and arrow
on the burr on the inside of unit are now aligned.
They must be aligned in order to re-insert
the hopper.
4. After the bean hopper has been removed, remove
the burr grinder by grasping the metal handle and
lifting up. Use the brush to remove grounds or wash
by hand. Replace the burr grinder on the unit and
rotate until the piece is fully inserted. Push handle
down, replace, and lock hopper.
Note: The hopper will not attach to the unit if the
grinder has not been fully inserted. The brush on
the measuring scoop is only for cleaning purposes.
5. Wipe body of grinder with a damp cloth.
Note: The bean hopper, bean hopper lid, grind
chamber, and grind chamber lid can be washed by
hand with hot, soapy water. Dry thoroughly.
Cleaning the Reservoir
It is normal over time for discoloration, spotting, or
staining to appear in the water reservoir. Results will
vary depending on the mineral content of the water
used, but will not aect the operation of the brewer.

However, be sure to clean the water reservoir regularly
to minimize buildup.
Clean inside the water reservoir with a damp, lint-free
cloth as necessary.
Decalcification
Decalcication refers to removing the calcium
deposits that form over time on the metal parts of
the coee maker.
When the CLEAN indicator is illuminated red on the
control panel, it is time to decalcify your coee maker.
We recommend decalcifying every month for best
performance, but the frequency really depends upon
the hardness of your tap water and how often you use
the coee maker.
Directions:
Step 1: Vinegar Rinse
• Fill water reservoir with 13 oz. of white vinegar
and 26 oz. of water.
• Place a mug or other container on the drip tray.
• Press and hold the STRENGTH and SIZE buttons for 3
seconds; the CLEAN indicator will ash. Press the
POWER/BREW button to start the decalcication
cycle.
• Water and vinegar solution will dispense until the
Add Water light comes on.
• Discard contents of mug into the sink.
• When decalcication is complete, the CLEAN
indicator will no longer be ashing.
• Discard any remaining diluted vinegar
into sink.
Step 2: Fresh Water Rinse
• Repeat Step 1 three times using fresh water in place
of vinegar mixture.
• This will clean the brewer’s plumbing
and remove any residual vinegar taste.
• The brewer is now ready for use.
Maintenance
Any other servicing should be performed by an
authorized service representative.

PROBLEM SOLUTION
Indicator lights are
ashing
When the Bold Strength and Power/Brew indicator lights ash in grinding mode, the
grinder is overloaded. Press the Power/Brew button to turn o the unit and unplug
the power cord. Remove the hopper and then the burr grinder and clean the burr
grinder well. Replace burr grinder and hopper; the unit will grind again.
If any of the 20 oz, 24 oz, Mild, or Ground indicators ash simultaneously with the
Power/Brew lights, please return appliance to the nearest Cuisinart Repair Center.
If the Ice and Power/Brew lights ash simultaneously, this indicates a water pump
overload. Unplug the power cord, check and clean the machine's water inlet and
outlet, then reconnect the power to resume normal operation.
Coee maker will
not brew
When the grind cycle is active, brewing cannot begin until grinding is completed or
canceled. To cancel the grind cycle, press the Power/Brew button once. Discard the
ground coee in the brew basket, and then grind fresh beans for a new batch.
If the Add Water indicator is illuminated, check to make sure the water reservoir is
properly lled. If not, add water and make sure the water reservoir is properly
seated in its base.
If the lter basket door is not properly closed, or the lter basket isn't properly
installed or is missing, the unit's Power/Brew indicator will ash continuously as an
error alert until the issue is resolved.
If brewing 24-oz size and there is not enough water in the reservoir, the Add Water
indicator will illuminate during brewing. After the reservoir is lled with water above
the MIN water level, the Add Water indicator light will turn o. Press the Power/Brew
button again to resume the brewing cycle. If no action is taken for 5 minutes after
the Add Water indicator light starts to illuminate, the unit will cancel brewing cycle
and go into standby mode.
Burr grinder not
grinding beans
Coee beans may be too tightly packed. Do not overll to the point that beans
touch lid when closed.
When the unit is brewing, the grinder function cannot be activated until brewing
is completed or canceled. To cancel the brew cycle, press the Power/Brew button
once.
Grinder may be jammed. Use the scoop brush to clean the grind outlet and clear
away excess grounds. The burr can also be removed for cleaning. To remove the
burr, turn the grind assembly until the lock indicators are aligned. Pull the burr
holder toward you and remove from the unit.
If the bean hopper runs low on coee beans, the Add Bean indicator will illuminate.
Please rell the hopper to continue grinding operations.
If the lter basket door is not properly closed, or the lter basket isn't properly
installed or is missing, the unit's Power/Brew indicator will ash continuously as an
error alert until the issue is resolved.
The bean hopper is not properly seated. Please ensure the hopper knob is rotated
to the lock position.
TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEM SOLUTION
Coee residue
appears on lid of
grinder
This is normal and will occur each time you grind beans. It should not aect coee
avor when brewing consecutive cups.
Coee is not strong
enough
If the chute on the coee grinder is not cleaned, it is possible for it to collect
enough residue to inhibit the ow of coee grounds into the lter basket – this will
make your coee weaker than expected. Be sure to clean the chute portion when
cleaning the coee grinder.
Reduce the brew size for a stronger-tasting cup of coee or try the bold setting for
strength choice.

Subject to the exclusions and limitations contained
herein, Conair LLC dba Cuisinart (“Cuisinart”) warrants
that the Cuisinart

, Custom Grind & Brew Single-Cup
Coee Maker ("Product") will be free from material
defects in materials and workmanship under normal
home use conditions for a period of THREE (3) years
beginning on the date the Product was purchased in its
original, sealed packaging, unless otherwise specied
in this Limited Warranty. This Limited Warranty is only
for U.S. consumers (dened herein as purchasers at
retail for personal, family, or household use) who
originally purchase the Product from Cuisinart or an
authorized Cuisinart
®
reseller (if you are unsure
whether a retailer or other point of sale is an
authorized or unauthorized Cuisinart reseller, contact
Cuisinart).
This Limited Warranty does NOT cover:
• Normal wear and tear;
• Any Product purchased by commercial purchasers
or for commercial or nonhousehold uses;
• Accessories, parts, or software added to
the Product after the system is shipped
from Cuisinart;
• Any costs associated with the replacement or
repair of the Product, including labor, installation,
or other costs incurred by you without prior
Cuisinart approval;

fast, ecient way to complete your product
registration. However, product registration does not
eliminate the need for the consumer to maintain the
original proof of purchase in order to obtain the
warranty benets. In the event that you do not have
proof of purchase date, the purchase date for purposes
of this Limited Warranty will be the date of
manufacture.
Hassle-free warranty
If the Product that is the subject of this Limited
Warranty fails during the warranty period for reasons
covered by this Limited Warranty, Cuisinart will, at its
option, repair the Product, replace the Product with
another identical or reasonably equivalent product, or
if Cuisinart is unable to repair or replace the Product,
refund the purchase price, less the amount directly
attributable to the consumer’s prior usage of the
Product. To obtain a return shipping label, email us at

assistance/product-inquiry/, or call our Consumer
Service Center toll-free at 1-800-726-0190 to speak
with a representative.
Upon receipt of the Product, Cuisinart will inspect the
Product and, if required under this Limited Warranty,
attempt to repair, replace, or refund the Product within
thirty (30) days. However, there may be delays beyond
Cuisinart’s control, in which case that time period may
be extended as reasonably necessary.
IMPORTANT: If the nonconforming Product is to be
serviced by someone other than Cuisinart’s Authorized
Service Center, please remind the servicer to call our
Consumer Service Center at 1-800-726-0190 to ensure
that the problem is properly diagnosed, the Product is
serviced with the correct parts, and the product is still
under warranty.

The THREE (3) year Limited Warranty period begins on
the date the Product was delivered, which may be
dierent than the date the Product was purchased.

El cable provisto con este aparato es corto, para

la preparación de
un buen café
Elemento 1 – El agua
El café está constituido por un 98% de agua. Por
lo tanto, la calidad del agua es tan importante
como la del café. Si el agua tiene mal sabor, el
café tendrá mal sabor. Por eso Cuisinart equipó
su cafetera con un ltro de agua de carbón que
elimina el cloro y el mal sabor y olor para
preparar café puro taza tras taza.
Elemento 2 – El café
Aunque un 98% del brebaje es agua, el sabor
proviene del café. Para preparar café sabroso,
compre solo un suministro de dos semanas de
granos de café fresco a la vez. Una vez que se
rompen los granos, el sabor intenso y rico del
café comienza a deteriorarse. Por eso Cuisinart
equipó su cafetera con un molinillo que muele
los granos justo antes de preparar el café.
Elemento 3 – La molienda
Un molinillo de muelas extrae el máximo sabor
del café en grano. El proceso muele los granos,
liberando más aceites y sabores del grano para
preparar el café más sabroso. La textura de la
molienda es primordial. Si es muy na, puede
atascar el ltro. Si es muy gruesa, dejará pasar el
agua demasiado rápido, lo que producirá un café
aguado. Su cafetera ha sido programada para
proporcionar un molido medio, el grado óptimo
para la preparación automática del café.
Elemento 4 – Las proporciones
Para que el café sea perfecto, ni muy débil ni
muy fuerte, se debe usar la proporción adecuada
de café y agua. Esta cafetera automáticamente
muele la cantidad exacta de café en grano para
la cantidad de tazas e intensidad que seleccione.
Si usa café molido, empiece usando 1 cucharada
llena de café molido por taza (145ml) de café;
luego puede ajustar la cantidad de café molido
a gusto.

Instalación del filtro
de agua
Su cafetera cuenta con un ltro de agua de
carbón que elimina el cloro y el mal olor/sabor
del agua corriente.
• Retire el ltro de la bolsa de plástico y
remójelo en agua fría por 15 minutos.
• Retire el soporte del ltro situado en el
depósito de agua de la cafetera.
• Abra el compartimento en la parte inferior
del soporte.
• Coloque el ltro en el soporte y ciérrelo.
Haga esto con mucho con cuidado; si no
instala el ltro de manera correcta, la
membrana del ltro puede romperse.
• Enjuague el ltro en agua fría por 10
segundos para limpiarlo, los oricios en la
base directamente bajo el ujo de agua.
• Deje que el ltro se seque completamente.
• Vuelva a colocar el soporte del ltro en el
depósito, empujándolo hasta el fondo.
Nota: Se recomienda cambiar el ltro de
agua cada 60 días o 60 usos, o más
frecuentemente si el agua es dura.

Antes del primer uso

Limpie el sistema interno antes del primer uso, según

1. Retire el depósito de agua del aparato.
2. Llene el depósito de agua con agua y vuelva a

4. Abra y cierra la puerta del compartimento del

SIZE hasta que “10oz” se ilumine.

Cómo preparar café
con café en grano
Antes del primer uso, limpie el sistema interno según
se describió en la sección “Limpieza inicial”.
Instrucciones de molienda
1. Retire el depósito de agua y llénelo hasta la línea de
llenado máximo. Vuelva a colocar el depósito en su
sitio. Si no hay suciente agua en el depósito, el
indicador “ADD WATER” (añadir agua) se iluminará.
2. Quitar la tapa del depósito de café en grano y
agregue la cantidad de granos de café deseada.
Se recomienda siempre mantener el depósito de
café en grano lleno para siempre tener suciente
café en grano para la cantidad de tazas que
desea preparar.
Nota: El depósito de café en grano tiene una
capacidad máxima de ½ lb (225 g) de café en
grano y cuenta con una tapa hermética para
mantenerlo fresco.
3. Abra el compartimento del portaltros, presionando
el botón de apertura de la puerta. Abra la tapa del
portaltros (1).
4. Coloque el ltro dorado en el portaltros (2). Cierre
la tapa del portaltros y la puerta del
compartimento del portaltros, empujando hasta
escuchar un clic.
Nota: Este aparato es compatible con ltros de
papel de canasta de 4 tazas. Si usa uno,
compruebe que el ltro esté completamente
abierto y que toque ambos lados y el fondo del
portaltros.
Nota: El mecanismo de bloqueo de seguridad
impedirá que el aparato se encienda si el ltro y el
portaltros no están bien colocados o si la puerta
del compartimento del portaltros no está bien
cerrada.
5. Presione repetidamente el botón STRENGTH hasta
que la intensidad deseada, “MILD” (leve), “MED”
(media) o “BOLD” (fuerte), se ilumine.
a. Para preparar café helado, presione
repetidamente el botón STRENGTH hasta que “ICE”
(hielo) se ilumine.
Nota: No se puede ajustar intensidad del café con

6. Después de elegir la intensidad, presione
repetidamente el botón SIZE hasta que el tamaño
de taza deseado, 8oz (235ml), 10oz (295ml), 12oz

compruebe que el ltro esté completamente
abierto y que toque ambos lados y el fondo del
portaltros.

café molido por taza (145ml) de café (puede variar

8. Presione repetidamente el botón size hasta que el
tamaño de taza deseado, 8oz (235ml), 10oz
(295ml), 12oz (355ml), 16oz (475ml), 20oz
(590ml) o 24oz (710ml), se ilumine.
9. Coloque una taza en la bandeja de goteo. Para
colocar una taza de viaje, quite la bandeja de goteo.
10. Presione el botón Power/Brew para iniciar el ciclo
de preparación; el indicador luminoso empezará a
parpadear y el agua empezará a bajar.
Nota: Para detener el ciclo de preparación en
cualquier momento, simplemente presione el botón
POWER/BREW.
11. Finalizado el ciclo preparación, el aparato emitirá
cinco pitidos. El indicador “GROUND”, el tamaño
elegido y el botón POWER/BREW permanecerán
encendidos.
Nota: El botón POWER/BREW parpadeará hasta que
abra el compartimento del portaltros y tire los
posos. No se puede realizar ninguna operación
hasta que se haya hecho esto.
Consejos y sugerencias
• Si compra grandes cantidades de café en grano a la
vez, divida los granos en porciones y guárdelos en el
congelador, en recipientes herméticos. Para
maximizar el aroma del café, evite exponer los granos
al aire, a la luz o a la humedad. Al sacar los granos
del congelador, mantenga el envase cerrado a
temperatura ambiente.
• Algunos expertos aconsejan no congelar el café de
tueste oscuro ya que sus aceites pueden coagularse.
Otros no están de acuerdo. Le aconsejamos que
experimente y que decida por su cuenta.
Cómo preparar café helado
La función “ICE” (hielo) ajusta el proceso de
preparación para maximizar el sabor del café cuando
prepare café helado. Puede colocar hielo en la taza
antes de preparar café, o añadir hielo al café después
de la preparación.
Nota: En este modo, los tamaños de infusión son
aproximadamente la mitad de lo normal para
compensar el derretimiento del hielo.
1. Retire el depósito de agua y llénelo hasta la línea de
llenado máximo. Vuelva a colocar el depósito en su
sitio. Si no hay suciente agua en el depósito, el
indicador “ADD WATER” (añadir agua) se iluminará.
2. Colocar la cantidad deseada de hielo en la taza,
teniendo presente que usar demasiado hielo puede

afectar el sabor del café.
3. Instale el ltro dorado (ya sea con o sin café) según
se describió en las secciones “Cómo preparar café
con café en grano” y “Cómo preparar café con café
molido”.
4. Elija sus preferencias:
a. Café en grano: Presione repetidamente el
botón STRENGTH hasta que solo “ICE” (hielo)
se ilumine.
b. Café molido: Presione repetidamente el botón
STRENGTH hasta que ambos “ICE” (hielo) Y
“GROUND” (café molido) se iluminen.
Nota: No se puede ajustar la intensidad del café.
5. Después de elegir sus preferencias, presione el
botón POWER/BREW; el indicador empezará a
parpadear.
a. Si está preparando con café en grano, el molinillo
molerá en café antes de iniciar el ciclo de
preparación.
b. Si está preparando café con café molido, el ciclo
de preparación empezará directamente.
6. Finalizado el ciclo preparación, el aparato emitirá
cinco pitidos. os indicadores “GROUND” y “ICE”, el
tamaño elegido y el botón POWER/BREW
permanecerán encendidos.
Nota: El botón POWER/BREW parpadeará hasta que
abra el compartimento del portaltros y tire los

Limpieza y mantenimiento
Limpieza de las partes externas
Se recomienda limpiar los componentes externos del
aparato regularmente.
1. Nunca sumerja el aparato en agua u otros líquidos.
Limpie la carcasa y otros componentes externos con
un paño no abrasivo humedecido con agua jabonosa.
2. Levante con cuidado la bandeja de goteo,
manteniéndola recta para evitar los derrames. La
bandeja de goteo y su rejilla son aptas para
lavavajillas. No limpie la bandeja de goteo con
limpiadores abrasivos, lana de acero u otros
materiales abrasivos.
Limpieza del conducto de salida de
café molido
El café molido puede adherirse a las paredes del
conducto de salida de café molido. Limpiar el
conducto de salida garantiza que el café molido pueda
llegar a la cámara de preparación. Coloque una taza o
recipiente en la bandeja de goteo y use el cepillo (al
extremo de la cuchara) para quitar el exceso de café
molido atascado en el conducto de salida.
Limpieza del depósito de café en grano
y del molinillo
Depósito de café en grano
1. Apague y desenchufe aparato.
2. Retire la tapa del depósito de café en grano y ponga
la perilla de liberación/bloqueo del depósito en el
candado abierto. Una vez liberado, retire el depósito
y vacíe los granos de café restantes.
Molinillo de muelas
1. Si granos de café quedaron atrapados en el
molinillo, vuelva a colocar el depósito de café en
grano en su sitio y haga funcionar el aparato,
eligiendo el tamaño “16oz”. Finalizado el ciclo, el
molinillo estará vacío. Entonces, termine de
limpiarlo de acuerdo con las instrucciones.
2. Apague y desenchufe aparato.
3. Quite la tapa del depósito de café en grano y gire la
perilla de bloqueo/liberación del depósito hacia el
candado abierto para liberarlo.
Nota: Notará que las echas están alineadas.
Deben estar alineadas para poder volver a instalar
el depósito de café en grano.
4. Después de quitar el depósito de café en grano,
agarre el molinillo por el asa de metal y levántelo.
Quite los posos de café con el cepillo provisto o
lave el molinillo a mano. Vuelva a colocar el
molinillo en el aparato, girando hasta que quede en
su lugar. Presione el asa hacia abajo y vuelva a
colocar el depósito de café en grano en su sitio,

bloqueándolo (candado cerrado).
Nota: No se podrá instalar el depósito de café en
grano a menos que el molinillo de muelas esté
correctamente instalado. El cepillo de la cuchilla
medidora solamente debe servir para limpiar.
5. Limpie la carcasa del aparato con un paño húmedo.
Nota: Lave el depósito de café en grano, el depósito
de café molido, y las dos tapas en agua tibia con
jabón, o en la bandeja superior del lavavajillas.
Seque bien todas las piezas.
Limpieza del depósito de agua
Con el tiempo, es normal que manchas aparezcan en
el depósito de agua. Estas manchas son el resultado
del alto contenido en minerales del agua y no
afectarán el buen funcionamiento de la cafetera. Sin
embargo, cerciórese de limpiar regularmente el
depósito de agua para minimizar la acumulación de
depósitos. Limpie el interior del depósito con un paño
libre de pelusa húmedo.
Descalcificación
Con el tiempo, depósitos de calcio/sarro
pueden acumularse en las piezas metálicas internas
del aparato.
Cuando el indicador “CLEAN” (descalcicar) se
encienda, esto signica que es tiempo de descalcicar
el aparato. Nota: La frecuencia de la descalcicación
depende de la dureza del agua y de la frecuencia de
uso de la cafetera. Para un rendimiento óptimo, se
recomienda descalcicar el aparato cada mes.
Instrucciones:
Paso 1: Enjuague con vinagre
• Llene el depósito de agua con 13 oz (385ml) de
vinagre blanco y 26 oz (770ml) de agua.
• Coloque una taza grande (u otro recipiente) en la
bandeja de goteo.
• Mantenga presionados los botones STRENGTH y SIZE
por 3 segundos; el indicador “CLEAN” (descalcicar)
parpadeará. Presione el botón POWER/BREW para
para iniciar el ciclo de descalcicación.
• La mezcla de agua/vinagre bajará y el indicador “ADD
WATER” (agregar agua) se encenderá.
• Finalizado el ciclo, tire el contenido de la taza.
• El indicador “CLEAN” (descalcicar) dejará de
parpadear.
• Tire la mezcla de agua/vinagre.
Paso 2: Enjuague con agua fresca
• Repita el paso 1 tres veces usando agua fresca en vez
de agua/vinagre;
• esto enjuagará el sistema interno y eliminará el sabor
a vinagre.
• La cafetera está lista para su uso.
Mantenimiento
Cualquier otro servicio debe ser realizado por un
técnico de servicio autorizado.

Los indicadores
luminosos parpadean
Si el indicador de intensidad “BOLD” y el botón “POWER/BREW” parpadean, esto
signica que el molinillo está demasiado lleno. Presione el botón POWER/BREW
para apagar el aparato y desenchúfelo. Retire el depósito de café en grano y el
molinillo de muelas, y limpie el molinillo con cuidado. Vuelva a colocar el molinillo y
el depósito de café en grano.
Si los indicadores “20oz”, “24oz”, “MILD” o “GROUND” parpadean al mismo tiempo
que el botón POWER/BREW, devuelva el aparato a un centro de servicio autorizado.
Si el indicador “ICE” y el botón POWER/BREW parpadean al mismo tiempo, esto
signica que la bomba de agua está sobrecargada. Desenchufe el aparato y limpie la
entrada y la salida de agua.
El ciclo de
preparación
no se inicia
Cuando active el modo de molienda, el ciclo de preparación no puede empezar
hasta que la molienda se termine o que la cancele. Para cancelar la molienda antes
del nal, presione el botón POWER/BREW. Deseche los posos de café en el
portaltros y muela café otra vez.
Si el indicador “ADD WATER” (añadir agua) se enciende, cerciórese de que hay
sucientemente agua en el depósito. Compruebe que el depósito de agua esté
correctamente asentado en su base.
Si la puerta del compartimento del portaltros no está bien cerrada, o el portaltros
no está bien instalado o falta, el botón POWER/BREW parpadeará continuamente
hasta que se resuelva el problema.
Si eligió la opción “24oz” y no hay suciente agua en el depósito de agua, el
indicador “ADD WATER” (agregar agua) empezará a parpadear durante el ciclo de
preparación. Después de agregar agua (debajo de la marca “MIN”), el indicador se
apagará. Presione el botón POWER/BREW para reiniciar el ciclo de preparación. Si no
hace nada por 5 minutos después de que el indicador empiece a parpadear, el
aparato cancelará la preparación e ingresará al modo de espera.
El molinillo no muele
los granos de café
Puede que los granos de café estén demasiado apretujados. No llene el depósito de
café en grano hasta el punto de que los granos toquen la tapa cuando esté cerrada.
El molinillo no puede activarse durante la preparación; espere hasta el nal del ciclo
o cancélelo. Para cancelar el ciclo de preparación, presione el botón Power/Brew.
Puede que el molinillo esté atascado. Use el cepillo de limpieza para limpiar la boca
de salida del café molido y quitar el exceso de café molido. Si lo desea, también
puede retirar el molinillo para limpiarlo. Para retirar el molinillo, gire el sistema de
molido hasta que los indicadores “LOCK” queden alineados. Jale el soporte del
sistema de molienda hacia fuera para retirarlo del aparato.
Si el nivel de café en grano está bajo, el indicador “ADD BEAN” (agregar café en
grano) se iluminará. Llene el depósito de café en gramo antes de continuar.
Si la puerta del compartimento del portaltros no está bien cerrada, o el portaltros
no está bien instalado o falta, el botón POWER/BREW parpadeará continuamente
hasta que se resuelva el problema.
El depósito de café en grano no está correctamente asentado. Compruebe que la
perilla de liberación/bloqueo del depósito esté en la posición del candado cerrado.

Esto es normal y sucederá cada vez que muela granos de café. No afectará el sabor
del café siempre que prepare tazas consecutivas.
El café no es lo
sucientemente
fuerte
Si el conducto de salida del café está sucio, es posible que residuos de café estén
obstruyendo el ujo de café, haciendo que el café sea menos fuerte que de
costumbre. Cerciórese de limpiar el conducto de salida del café molido cuando
limpia el molinillo.
Escoja un tamaño de taza más pequeño o prueba la opción de intensidad
“BOLD” (fuerte).

Esta Garantía Limitada NO cubre:
• El desgaste normal;
