MULTI-TOOL SAFETY WARNINGS
Hold the power product by insulated gripping surfaces, when
performing an operation where the cutting accessory may
contact hidden wiring. Cutting accessory contacting a “live” wire
may make exposed metal parts of the power product “live” and
could give the operator an electric shock.
Use clamps or another practical way to secure and support the
workpiece to a stable platform. Holding the workpiece by hand or
against your body leaves it unstable and may lead to loss of control.
When working in walls ceiling, or oor, take care to avoid electric
cables and gas or waterpipes.
The dust produced when using this product may be harmful to
health. Do not inhale the dust. Use a dust absorption system and
wear a suitable dust protection mask. Remove deposited dust
thoroughly, e.g. with a vacuum cleaner.
Remove the battery pack before starting any work on the machine.
Always disconnect the plug from the socket before carrying out any
work on the machine.
Dust from certain paints, coatings, and materials may cause irritation
or allergic reactions. Dust from wood such as oak, beech, MDF, and
others are carcinogenic. Only qualied specialists should be allowed
to use the product on materials containing asbestos.
Do not use compressed air to blow dust or debris. This practice is
dangerous and can cause dirt and grit to be blasted into someone’s
eyes, causing serious injury.
Ambient temperature range for product during operation is between
0°C and 40°C.
Ambient temperature range for product storage is between 0°C and
40°C.
The recommended ambient temperature range for the charging
system during charging is between 10°C and 38°C.
ADDITIONAL SAFETY AND WORKING INSTRUCTIONS
Use protective equipment. Always wear safety glasses when
working with the product. The use of protective clothing is
recommended, such as dust mask, protective gloves, sturdy non-
slip footwear, helmet and ear defenders.
The dust produced when using this product may be harmful to

Do not machine any materials that present a danger to health (e.g.
asbestos).
Do not direct the light beam at persons or animals and do not stare
into the light beam yourself (not even from a distance). Staring into

The product is not waterproof. Do not submerge in liquid. Failure to
heed this warning could result in serious personal injury.

WARNING!

Switch the product off immediately if the accessory stalls! Do
not switch the device on again while the accessory is stalled, as
doing so could trigger a sudden recoil with a high reactive force.
Determine why the accessory stalled and rectify this, paying heed to
the safety instructions.
The possible causes may be:
■ it is tilted in the workpiece to be machined
■ it has pierced through the material to be machined
■ the power product is overloaded
Do not reach into the product while it is running. The accessory may
become hot during use.
WARNING! Danger of burns
■ when changing products
■ when setting the device down
Chips and splinters must not be removed while the product is
running.
When working in walls ceiling, or oor, take care to avoid electric
cables and gas or waterpipes.
Clamp your workpiece with a clamping device. Unclamped
workpieces can cause severe injury and damage.
Remove the battery pack before starting any work on the product.
Remove battery pack before storing or transporting the product.
Do not dispose of used battery packs in the household refuse or by
burning them. Take them to an appropriate disposal/collection site.
Do not store the battery pack together with metal objects (short
circuit risk).
Use only System GBS chargers for charging System GBS battery
packs. Do not use battery packs from other systems.
Never break open battery packs and chargers and store only in dry
rooms. Keep dry at all times.
Battery acid may leak from damaged batteries under extreme load
or extreme temperatures. In case of contact with battery acid wash
it off immediately with soap and water. In case of eye contact rinse
thoroughly for at least 10 minutes and immediately seek medical
attention.
RESIDUAL RISKS
Even when the product is used as prescribed, it is still impossible
to completely eliminate certain residual risk factors. The following
hazards may arise and the operator should pay special attention to
avoid the following:
■ Injury caused by dust and derbis
● While using the product, considerable dust and fine particles
will be produced. Use the dust collection device and connect
a dust extraction vacuum during use.
● Wear eye protection at all times.
● Wear respiratory protection masks containing filters
appropriate to the materials being worked. Ensure adequate
workplace ventilation.
● Do not eat, drink or smoke in the work area.
■ Injury caused by noise and vibration
● Wear ear protection.
● Do not operate the product for long periods of time. See
“Risk reduction”.
■ Injury from contact with the cutting accessories
● The accessories are sharp and will become hot during use.
● Wear gloves when changing accessories.
● Keep hands away from the cutting area at all times.
● Never hold workpiece being cut in your hands or across
your leg. Clamp the workpiece whenever possible.
■ Risk of electrocution if electric cables are cut
● Always hold the product by designated handles. Do not
touch the cutting blades or metal parts of the product.
■ Risk of musculoskeletal disorder
● Always work in correct posture, keep proper footing and
balance at all times..
RISK REDUCTION
It has been reported that vibrations from handheld products may
contribute to a condition called Raynaud’s Syndrome in certain
individuals. Symptoms may include tingling, numbness and
blanching of the ngers, usually apparent upon exposure to cold.
Hereditary factors, exposure to cold and dampness, diet, smoking
and work practices are all thought to contribute to the development
of these symptoms. There are measures that can be taken by the
operator to possibly reduce the effects of vibration:
■ Keep your body warm in cold weather. When operating the unit
wear gloves to keep the hands and wrists warm. It is reported
that cold weather is a major factor contributing to Raynaud’s
Syndrome.
■ After each period of operation, exercise to increase blood
circulation.
■ Take frequent work breaks. Limit the amount of exposure per
day.
If you experience any of the symptoms of this condition, immediately
discontinue use and see your doctor about these symptoms.
WARNING! Injuries may be caused or aggravated by prolonged
use of a product. When using any product for prolonged periods,
ensure you take regular breaks.
SPECIFIED CONDITIONS OF USE
This electronic multi-tool is intended to be used only by adults who
have read and understood the instructions and warnings in this
manual and can be considered responsible for their actions.
The multi-tool can be used for
■ cutting wood, drywall, plastic;
■ detailed sanding;
■ using accessories identified as compatible with this multi-tool.
Do not use the product for any other purpose not described above.
SANDPAPER SELECTION
Selecting the correct size, grit and type of sand paper is an
extremely important step in achieving a high quality sanded nish.
Aluminum oxide, silicon carbide, and other synthetic abrasives are
best for power sanding. Natural abrasives, such as int and garnet
are too soft for economical use in power sanding.
In general, coarse grit will remove the most material and ner grit
will produce the best nish in all sanding operations. The condition
of the surface to be sanded will determine which grit will do the
job. If the surface is rough, start with a coarse grit and sand until
the surface is uniform. Medium grit may then be used to remove
scratches left by the coarser grit and ner grit used for nishing of
the surface. Always continue sanding with each grit until surface is
uniform.
BATTERIES
Battery packs which have not been used for some time should be
recharged before use.
Temperatures in excess of 50°C (122°F) reduce the performance of
the battery pack. Avoid extended exposure to heat or sunshine (risk
of overheating).
The contacts of chargers and battery packs must be kept clean.
For an optimum life-time, the battery packs have to be fully charged,
after used.
To obtain the longest possible battery life remove the battery pack
from the charger once it is fully charged.
For battery pack storage longer than 30 days:
• Store the battery pack where the temperature is below 27°C
and away from moisture.
• Store the battery packs in a 30% - 50% charged condition.
• Every six months of storage, charge the pack as normal.

WARNING! To reduce the risk of re, personal injury, and
product damage due to a short circuit, never immerse your product,
battery pack or charger in uid or allow a uid to ow inside them.
Corrosive or conductive uids, such as seawater, certain industrial
chemicals, and bleach or bleach containing products, etc., can
cause a short circuit.
Ambient temperature range for battery during use is between 0°C
and 40°C.
Ambient temperature range for battery storage is between 0°C and
27°C.
HIGH TEMPERATURE PROTECTION
If the motor becomes overheated, the LED will ash and the motor
will automatically cut off. If this happens, slide the on/off switch to
the OFF ( O ) position and let the motor cool.
NOTE: The product will not operate until the motor cools.
TRANSPORTING LITHIUM BATTERIES
Lithium-ion batteries are subject to the Dangerous Goods
Legislation requirements.
Transportation of those batteries has to be done in accordance with
local, national and international provisions and regulations.
■ The user can transport the batteries by road without further
requirements.
■ Commercial transport of Lithium-Ion batteries by third parties is
subject to Dangerous Goods regulations. Transport preparation
and transport are exclusively to be carried out by appropriately.
trained persons and the process has to be accompanied by
corresponding experts.
When transporting batteries:
■ Ensure that battery contact terminals are protected and
insulated to prevent short circuit.
■ Ensure that battery pack is secured against movement within
packaging.
■ Do not transport batteries that are cracked or leak.
Check with forwarding company for further advice.
BATTERY PACK PROTECTION
The battery pack has overload protection that protects it from being
overloaded and helps to ensure long life. Under extreme stress the
battery electronics switch off the product automatically. To restart,
switch the product off and then on again. If the product does not
start up again, the battery pack may have discharged completely. In
this case it must be recharged in the battery charger.
MAINTENANCE
The ventilation slots of the product must be kept clear at all times.
Use only AEG accessories and AEG spare parts. Should
components need to be replaced which have not been described,
please contact one of our AEG service agents (see our list of
guarantee/service addresses).
If needed, an exploded view of the product can be ordered. Please
state the Article No. as well as the product type printed on the label
and order the drawing at your local service agents or directly at:

Most plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of
commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use. Use clean
cloths to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.

petroleum-based products, penetrating oils, etc., come in contact
with plastic parts. Chemicals can damage, weaken or destroy plastic
which could result in serious personal injury.
