XL warming tray

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should
always be followed including the following:
1. Read all instructions.
2. DO NOT touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
3. To protect against electrical hazards, DO NOT immerse cord, plugs,
or the appliance in water or other liquid.
4. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or
near children.
5. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with
the appliance.
6. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children)
with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of
experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision
or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person
responsible for their safety.
7. Never leave the appliance within reach of children.
8. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to
cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the
appliance.
9. DO NOT operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after
the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
Return appliance to Salton for examination, repair or adjustment.

10. The use of accessories or attachments not recommended by Salton
may cause hazards.
11. DO NOT use outdoors or for commercial purposes.
12. DO NOT let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot
surfaces.
13. CAUTION: DO NOT cover side vents. Covering this unit can cause a
fi re hazard. Covering this unit with aluminum foil can cause glass to
shatter.
14. CAUTION: Unit gets HOT. Use cool touch handles. DO NOT touch
the Warming Tray surface. Always use hot pads or potholders until
the unit cools.
15. CAUTION: DO NOT place non-heat resistant objects or containers
on the Warming Tray.
16. DO NOT USE PLASTIC DISHES, CONTAINERS OR PLASTIC
WRAP ON WARMING TRAY.
17. This Warming Tray is not a cooking appliance. It is designed to keep
already-cooked food warm. It is not designed to cook food.

18. Always place the Warming Tray on a fl at, sturdy and heat resistant
surface. For proper ventilation provide at least 4-6 inches (10-15cm)
of space around the appliance. DO NOT block airfl ow from under
the unit.
19. DO NOT place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated
oven.
20. Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance
containing hot liquids.
21. Always attach plug to appliance fi rst, then plug cord into the wall
outlet. To disconnect, remove plug from wall outlet and then remove
other end from appliance.
22. This appliance is for Household Use Only. DO NOT use appliance
for other than its intended use.
23. DO NOT leave unit unattended while in use.
24. DO NOT move appliance while in use.
25. DO NOT us abrasive cleaning agents or scouring pads when
cleaning the Warming Tray.
26. DO NOT place Warming Tray in dishwasher.
27. DO NOT use appliance if the glass is cracked or damaged in any
manner. Using Warming Tray with damaged glass may create a
risk of electric shock if water or any other liquid seeps into the unit
frame.
28. Clean Warming Tray with extreme caution. If using a damp sponge
or cloth to wipe spills on hot glass surface, be careful to avoid steam
burns and DO NOT use any chemical cleaners as these can produce
noxious fumes if applied to hot surface.

SHORT CORD INSTRUCTIONS
1. A short power supply cord (or cord set) is provided to reduce the
hazards of entanglement or tripping over a longer cord.
2. Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are
available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
3. If a longer detachable power-supply extension cord is used, the
marked electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least as
great as the electrical rating of the appliance.

b) The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the
countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or
tripped over unintentionally.
POLARIZED PLUG
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other).
To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug will fi t in a polarized outlet
only one way. If the plug does not fi t fully in the outlet, reverse the plug.
If it still does not fi t, contact a qualifi ed electrician. Do not modify the
plug in any way.
BEFORE FIRST USE
Wipe the surface of the Warming Tray with a damp cloth; dry thoroughly.
Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or scouring pads.
Never immerse the Warming Tray, it’s cord, or plug in water or any other
liquid. The Warming Tray is NOT dishwasher safe. Do not allow water to
seep into the unit frame or allow heating elements to come into contact
with water.
HOW TO USE
1. Place the Warming Tray on a fl at, sturdy, heat resistant surface. For
proper ventilation provide at least 4-6 inches (10-15cm) of space
around the appliance.
2. Plug into a 120 volt A.C. outlet.
3. Use the dial to select the desired temperature. The indicator light
will glow and go “on” and “off ” as the selected temperature is
automatically maintained.
4. Once the Warming Tray is warm, place heat resistant cookware with
already cooked food on top.
5. Keep food warm for the desired amount of time.
6. When done, turn temperature dial to OFF.
7. Unplug the Warming Tray.
IMPORTANT: During fi rst use, the Warming Tray may emit a slight odor
and smoke. This is normal and will only last a few minutes.
TIP: It is recommended that the warming tray be kept on for a maximum
of 8 hours at a time.

HELPFUL HINTS:
• Ensure that the Warming Tray is always placed on a fl at and sturdy
surface.
• Covered crockery dishes with a fl at base and edges that are not too
high keep food the warmest.
CARE AND CLEANING
Always unplug the appliance and let it cool before cleaning. Clean the
Warming Tray by wiping with a cloth dampened in warm soapy water.
Dry thoroughly.
• NEVER immerse the Warming Tray in water or any other liquid.
• DO NOT allow water to seep into the unit frame or allow heating
elements to come into contact with water.
• NEVER use abrasive cleaning products, bleach or alcohol on this
unit.
• This unit is NOT dishwasher safe.
