Theairregulatorknobcanbeusedtoadjusttorquetotheapproximate

tightnessofaknownfastener.Tosetthetooltodesiredtorque,select

anutorscrewofknowntightnessofthesamesize,threadpitchand

threadconditionasthoseonthejob.Turnairregulatorknobtolow

position,applywrenchtonutandgraduallyincreasepower(turnair

regulatorknobtoadmitmoreair)untilnutmovesslightlyinthedirection

itwasoriginallyset.Thetoolisnowsettoduplicatethattightness-

noteairregulatorknobsettingforfutureuse.Whentighteningnuts

notrequiringcriticaltorquevalues,runnutupushandthentighten

anadditionalone-quartertoone-halfturn(slightadditionalturningis

necessaryifgasketsarebeingclamped).Foradditionalpowerneeded

ondisassemblywork,turnairregulatorknobtoitsfullyopenposition.

Thisimpactwrenchisratedat3/4"SAEboltsize.Ratingmustbedown

gradedforspringUbolts,tiebolts,longcapscrews,doubledepthnuts,

badlyrustedconditionsandspringfastenersastheyabsorbmuchof

theimpactpower.Whenpossible,clamporwedgethebolttoprevent

springback.

Soakrustednutsinpenetratingoilandbreakrustsealbeforeremoving

withimpactwrench.Ifnutdoesnotstarttomoveinthreetove

secondsusealargersizeimpactwrench.Donotuseimpactwrench

beyondratedcapacityasthiswilldrasticallyreducetoollife.

Theairregulatorknobisalsousedtochangetherotationofthetool.

Whentheairregulatorknobisturnedtotheright,thetoolisinaforward

orrighthandrotation.Whentheairregulatorknobisturnedtotheleft,

therotationisreversedorlefthandrotation.

NOTE:Actualtorqueonafastenerisdirectlyrelatedtojointhardness,

toolspeed,conditionofsocketandthetimethetoolisallowedto

impact.

Toolsofthisclassoperateonawiderangeofairpressures.Itis

recommendedthat airpressureofthesetoolsmeasures90PSI

atthetoolwhilerunningfree.Higherpressureanduncleanair

will shorten tool life because of faster wear and may create a

hazardouscondition.

Waterintheairlinewillcausedamagetothetool.Draintheair

tank daily.Cleanthe air inlet filter screen on at least a weekly

schedule.Therecommendedhook-upprocedurecanbeviewed

inFigure1.

The air inlet (Figure 2), used for connecting air supply, has

standard3/8"NPTAmericanThread.

Linepressureshouldbeincreasedtocompensateforunusually

longairhoses(over25feet).Minimumhosediametershouldbe

1/2"I.D.andfittingsshouldhavethesameinsidedimensions.

TrOuBleshOOTIng

Otherfactorsoutsidethetoolmaycauselossofpowerorerratic

action.Reducedcompressoroutput,excessivedrainontheairline,

moistureorrestrictionsinairpipesortheuseofhoseconnections

of improper size or poor conditions may reduce air supply. If

outside conditions are in order, and the tool still performs

erratically, disconnect tool from hose and take tool to your

nearestMatcoauthorizedservicecenter.

luBrIcaTIOn & MaInTenance

Lubricate the tool daily with a good grade of air tool oil. If no

airlineoilerisused,run1/2ounceofoilthroughthetool.Theoil

canbesquirtedintothetoolairinletFigure2,orintothehoseat

thenearestconnectiontotheairsupply,thenrunthetool.Arust

inhibitive oil is acceptable for air tools. Grease fitting on

yoke occasionally to ensure proper lubrication of the ratchet

mechanism.

Matcowarrantsthisairtoolforaperiodof2yeartotheconsumer.

WewillrepairanyMTSeriesairtoolcoveredunderthiswarranty

whichprovestobedefectiveinmaterialorworkmanshipduring

obtenerlapotenciamáxima.

Elreguladordelairepuedeserutilizadoparaajustarelniveldetorsióna

unadurezaaproximada,parecidaaunaabrazaderaconocida.

Paraajustarlaherramientaenlatorsióndeseada,elijaunatuercaoun

tornilloquetengaunadurezaconocidaydelmismotamaño,

longitudderoscaycondiciónderoscacomoaquellasparaeltrabajo.Gire

elreguladordelairehacialaposiciónbaja,apliquelallavesobrelatuercay

aumentegradualmentelapotencia(gireelreguladorpara

permitirqueentremásaire)hastaquelatuercasemuevaligeramente,

hacialadirecciónmarcadaoriginalmente.Laherramienta

puedeahoraduplicarlamismadureza-noteelajustedelreguladorpara

tenerunareferenciaeventual.Cuandolastuercasdeapretamientono

necesitanvalorescríticosdetorsión,pongalatuercahacia

Lasherramientasde estacategoríaoperandentro deunrango

ampliodepresióndeaire.Altrabajarlibremente,serecomienda

quelapresióndeairedeestasherramientasmidaaun90PSIen

laherramienta.Lapresiónaltayelairesuciodisminuiránlavida

delaherramientadebidoaldesgastemásrápido,ypuedencrear

condicionespeligrosas.

Cualquieraguaenlalíneadeairedañarálaherramienta.Drene

diariamente el tanque de aire. Limpie al menos semanalmente

la malla de filtración de la ventila de admisión de aire. El

procedimientorecomendadodeconexiónsepuederevisarenla

La ventila de admisión de aire (Figura 2), empleada para la

conexión de abastecimiento de aire, cuenta con la Rosca

EstándarAmericanaNPT3/8".

La presión de línea debe ser aumentada para compensar por

manguerasexcepcionalmentelargas(másde25pies).Eldiámetro

mínimo de manguera debe ser de 1/2" Diám. Int. y los herrajes

debentenerlamismadimensióninterior.

dIagnÓsTIcO de aVerÍas

Otros factores independientes de la herramienta pueden

ocasionarlapérdidadepotencia o alguna acciónerrática.Las

emisiones reducidas de la salida del compresor, el drenaje

excesivo en la línea de aire, la humedad o las restricciones

en las pipas de aire o el uso de conexiones de manguera de

tamañoinadecuado,opobrescondiciones,pueden disminuirel

suministrodeaire.Silascondicionesexterioressonadecuadas

ylaherramientaaúnfuncionadeformaerrática,desconectela

herramientadelamanguerayllevelaherramientaalcentrode

servicioautorizadoMatcomáscercanoausted.

luBrIcacIÓn & ManTenIMIenTO

Lubriquediariamentelaherramientaconalgúnaceitedebuena

calificaciónparaherramientasneumáticas.Sinoseusaningún

engrasador de línea de aire, deje caer 1/2 oz. de aceite por

la herramienta. Se puede lanzar un chorro de aceite por la

ventiladeadmisióndeairedelaherramienta,Figura2,oporla

mangueraenlaconexiónmáscercanaalabastecimientodeaire,

luegomarchelaherramienta.Unaceiteparalainhibicióndela

oxidaciónesadecuadoparalasherramientasneumáticas.
