InstallingaPTZdriver

ThisAxisproductsupportsseveralPTZdevices.Pleaseseewww.axis.comforacompletelistofsupporteddevices,andtoobtainthe

correctdriver.ToinstallaPTZdeviceyouneedtoinstallthePTZdriver.

ToinstallthePTZdrivergotoPTZ>DriverSelection.Browsetondthedriver(e.g.driver.ptz)andUpload.Ifthedriverwas

successfullyuploaded,itappearsintheSelectdrivertousedrop-downlist.Fromthisdrop-downlist,selectthedrivertoinstall

orremove,andclickSave.

SelectActivatePTZtoenablePTZ.TheaddressoftheconnecteddeviceappearsagainstDeviceID.ChoosetheDevicetypefromthe

drop-downlist.Tondwhichdevicetypetouse,consultthedocumentationsuppliedbythePTZdriver.

TocompletetheinstallationgotoSystemOptions>Ports&Devices>COMPort(seeCOMPort)andverifythesettings.

ControlQueue

TheadministratorcansetupaqueueforPTZcontrollersfromPTZ>ControlQueue.Oncesetup,thePTZControlQueuebuttons

appearintheLiveViewpageofferingoneviewerexclusivecontrolforalimitedperiodoftime.Otheruserswillbeplacedinqueue.

Auserwhobelongstoagroup(seeUsers,onpage39)withahigherPTZprioritycangobeforeotherusersinthequeueand

takecontroloftheproduct.Theorderofpriorityisasfollows:

1.Administrator—AnadministratortakesoverPTZcontrolregardlessofwhoisrstinqueue.Theadministratorwillbe

removedfromthequeue60secondsafterthelastPTZcontrolcommand.

2.Event—TheAxisproductcanbeconguredtogotoapresetpositionwhentriggeredbyanalarm(seeEvents,onpage33).

Theeventwillimmediatelybeplacedrstinthequeueexceptwhenanadministratorisincontrol.

3.Operator—Sameasadministratorbutwithlowerpriority

4.GuardTour—Aguardtour(seepage26)hasPTZcontrolforanindeniteperiodoftime.Itmaybeoverriddenbyan

operator,eventoradministrator.Theguardtourwillresumewhenhigherprioritygroupsleavethequeue.

5.Viewer—Multipleviewersmustwaitfortheirturn.Theviewerhas60secondsPTZcontrolbeforecontrolispassed

ontothenextviewerinqueue.

•TheadministratorcanenableanddisablePTZcontrolsforselectedusers.

•Toidentifydifferentusersintheviewergroup,cookiesmustbeenabledontheclient.
