3.2 Specication
3.1 Intended Use
This hand operated puller is designed for pulling and
lifting vehicles, machinery and other similar objects.
Any other application beyond the conditions established
for use will be considered misuse. Draper Tools accepts
no responsibility for improper use of this product.
Read this manual in full before assembling, operating or
maintaining the product, and retain it for future reference.

Important: Read all the Health and Safety instructions
before operating, maintaining or repairing this product.
Non-compliance with these instructions may result in
injury or damage to the user, the product or the object/
material being handled.
4.1 Explanation of Symbols
4.2 General Health and Safety
Precautions
• WARNING! Before using the Puller ensure you know
how much load you are pulling or lifting and that it
can move freely.
• DO NOT exceed the maximum capacity specied.
• WARNING! DO NOT operate the Puller if any parts are
damaged or missing as they may cause a failure and/
or personal injury. Inspect before each use and DO
NOT use if the wire rope shows any sign of fraying,
stress of other damage.
• Wear appropriate safety equipment during operation.
• Keep bystanders, children and animals away from the
operating area. Distractions can result in loss or any
control of the Puller.
• DO NOT use the Puller if you are tired or under the
inuence of drugs, alcohol or medication.
• Take care when moving the Puller as the unit is heavy.
• DO NOT feed the wire rope from the anchor pin end of
the Puller.
• DO NOT use any other device as a lever. Only use the
handle supplied.
• Never operate the release lever while the Puller is
under load.
• DO NOT operate both levers at the same time.
• WARNING! Never stand or work on or under the item
being pulled or lifted.
• DO NOT let the load twist or swing during operation.
• Only replace the wire rope with the correct capacity
recommended by Draper Tools.

The safety instructions in this manual cannot account
for all possible conditions and situations that may
occur. Exercise common sense and caution when using
this product and protect against any additional
conceivable risks.

5.2 Packaging
Keep the product packaging for the duration of the
warranty period in case the product needs to be returned
for repair.

children. Dispose of packaging correctly and
responsibly and in accordance with local regulations.

5.1 What’s in the Box?
Carefully remove the product from the packaging and
examine it for any signs of damage that may have
occurred during shipment.
Before assembling the product, lay the contents out and
check them against the parts shown below. If any part is
damaged or missing, do not attempt to use the product.

6.1 Assembly
NOTE: Take care when lifting as the product is heavy.
Inserting the wire rope (g.1 – g.2)
Note: for the rst 10 – 15 operations the release lever
(A) will be dicult to operate. This is normal and will
ease with use.
• To open the internal jaws, hold both the release lever
(A) and reverse handle (B). Then push down and slide
forward until the release lever locks into position.
• Insert the wire rope into the feed guide (C) and direct it
through until it runs above the anchor pin. Pull the
rope through to take up any slack, then push the
release lever (A) back down to unlock. Use the forward
handle (D) to feed the wire rope through.
Anchor Pin Fitting (g.3)
• Ensure the Puller is secured to a suitable anchor point
which can take the capacity load specied.
• Pass the anchor pin (E) through the housing. To secure
rotate the pin and push to fully lock in place (G).
• For additional safety, if required, secure by tting an
appropriately sized clevis pin (not supplied) through
the small hole (F) in the pin.
6. Operation & Use
Important: Before operating this product, read and
understand all the safety instructions listed in this
manual. Ensure that the product is fully assembled and
correctly prepared for use.

6. Operation & Use
6.2 Fitting The Handle (g.4)
• Connect the parts of the handle together and select
the length required (H).
• Fit the extendable handle to either the forward or
reverse handle by aligning the groove at the end of the
handle shaft with the notch and twist to lock in place.
6.3 Pulling/Lifting A Load (g.5)
• Forward operation – t the extendable handle to (I).
Move the handle back and forth to pull the wire rope
through the Puller.
Note: For safety the lever is tted with a sheer pin. If the
load exceeds the maximum capacity the pin will break.
Refer to the Draper Tool website for a suitable
replacement part.
6.4 Lowering A Load (g.6)
• Use reverse operation – t the extendable handle to
(J). Move the handle back and forth to push the wire
back through the puller.
Note: To remove the wire rope completely, the release
lever must be locked forward.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting
6.5 General Maintenance & Storage
• After use, wind the wire rope back onto the reel. Wipe
o any dirt and inspect for any damage that may have
occurred during the pulling process.
• When the Puller is not being used, unlock the release
lever and store in a safe, dry and childproof location.
Wipe over with a slightly oiled cloth.

options, please contact the Draper Tools Product
Helpline for details of your nearest authorised agent.
Draper Tools will endeavour to hold any spare parts, if
applicable, for seven years from the date that it sells the
nal matching stock item.
Any servicing or repairs carried out by unauthorised
personnel or installation of spare parts not supplied by
Draper Tools will invalidate your warranty.
At the end of its working life, dispose of the product
responsibly and in line with local regulations. Recycle
where possible.

8. Warranty
Draper Tools are guaranteed for 12months to be free
from defective materials and workmanship. Full details of
the guarantee periods can be found on the Draper Tools
Website.
Should the tool develop a fault within the guarantee
period, return the complete tool to the place of purchase
or contact Draper Tools directly. Proof of purchase must
be provided.
This guarantee does not apply to any consumable parts
or normal wear and tear.
It also does not cover any damage caused by misuse,
careless or unsafe handling, modications, or repairs
carried out by any personnel other than an authorised
Draper Tools repair agent.
Please note that this guarantee is in addition to and does
not aect your statutory rights.
