PERSONAL INJURY AND WILL INVALIDATE THE WARRANTY. KEEP THESE INSTRUCTIONS SAFE FOR FUTURE USE.
1. SAFETY
9 The user shall work only in accordance with this instruction manual.
9 The operator shall be provided with all necessary information about training and about pumping and translating forces.
9 Ensure the jack is in sound condition and good working order. Take action for immediate repair or replacement of damaged parts. Use
genuine parts only. DO NOT modify the jack. The use of non-genuine parts may be dangerous and will invalidate the warranty.
9 Locate the jack in a suitable, well lit working area.
9 Keep working area clean and tidy and free from unrelated materials. Use jack on level and solid ground, preferably concrete. Avoid
tarmacadam as jack may sink in.
9 Chock wheels of vehicle.
9 Ensure the vehicle handbrake is engaged, engine is switched off and transmission is in gear (or “PARK” if automatic).
9 Ensure minimum distance of 0.5m between vehicle and static objects such as doors, walls, etc. to allow for vehicle tilting.
9 Ensure all non-essential persons keep a safe distance whilst the jack is in use.
9 Ensure there are no passengers in the vehicle.
9 It is necessary that the operator can watch the lifting device and the load during all movements.
9 Place jack under only those lifting points recommended by vehicle manufacturer (see vehicle handbook).
9 Check that the lifting point is stable and centred on the jack saddle.
▲ DANGER: Use the jack for lifting only, NOT for supporting the lifted load.
9 Ensure there are no persons or obstructions beneath the vehicle before lowering.
9 It is not allowed to work under the raised load until it is secured by suitable means. Use suitable axle stands under the vehicle before
proceeding with any task.
9 Use a qualied person to lubricate and maintain the jack.
9 Ensure that only hydraulic jack oil is used in the jack.
8 DO NOT operate the jack if damaged.
8 DO NOT allow untrained persons to operate the jack.
8 DO NOT operate the jack when tired or under the inuence of drugs, alcohol or intoxicating medication.
8 DO NOT exceed the rated capacity of the jack.
8 DO NOT allow the vehicle to move during lifting or lowering, or use the jack to move the vehicle.
8 DO NOT jack vehicle if there is a risk of spillage of fuel, battery acid, or other dangerous substances.
8 DO NOT work under the vehicle until appropriately rated axle
stands have been correctly positioned.
8 DO NOT use the jack for purposes other than that for which it is
intended.
8 DO NOT top up hydraulic system with brake uid. Use hydraulic
jack oil only. (Sealey Part No: HJO500MLS or HJO5LS)
8 DO NOT adjust the safety overload valve.
9 When not in use store jack, fully lowered, in a safe, dry, childproof
area.
9 If more than 400N of effort is generated in lifting, the efforts shall
be lowered by an additional person.
2. INTRODUCTION
Fitted with overload valve. Base and reservoir machine welded
for increased strength and reduced chance of leakage. Threaded
pump assembly allows for easy disassembly and maintenance.
Supplied with 4-piece operating handle. Fitted with carrying handle.
Service kit readily available.
IMPORTANT SAFETY WARNING: ALWAYS USE AXLE STANDS
Please remember a jack is a lifting device and is not designed to
support a load. Never get underneath a vehicle supported only by a
jack - your life is at risk. We stock a comprehensive range of axle stands - please see relative section for full details.

Hydraulic Lift: ........................................................ 90mm
Maximum Height: ................................................ 215mm
Minimum Height: ................................................. 125mm
4. OPERATION
4.1. Before using the jack, purge the hydraulic circuit, in order to eliminate any air from the system that may have accumulated during transit,
as follows:
a) Insert jack handle over release valve (fig.1) and turn anti-clockwise to open valve.
b) Insert jack handle into the handle socket (fig.1) and pump several times to ensure full internal lubrication and to bleed air from the
system.
c) When complete place the handle back over the release valve and turn clockwise to close.
WARNING! Ensure you prepare vehicle and use jack according to chapter 1 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS.
4.2. Check that the supporting ground upon which the jack will stand is level and solid and not tarmacadam.
4.3. Position the jack saddle (fig.1) under the vehicle manufacturer’s recommended lifting point ensuring the saddle is correctly centred
beneath the load. Ensure jack is positioned to avoid having to operate it from under the vehicle, and that the handle is free to move up and
down.
4.4. Pump the handle up and down using full stroke range so that the saddle reaches the working height quickly.
4.5. Should the jack become overloaded, a safety overload valve will open, and stop the vehicle from lifting.
4.6. Position axle stands under the vehicle before attempting any work.
4.7. LOWERING THE LOAD
4.7.1. Ensure the axle stands are removed and that there are no persons or obstacles beneath the vehicle, or in the path of its descent.
4.7.2. The lowering speed is controlled by the amount you turn release valve. Turn anti-clockwise and lower carefully, avoiding sudden release.
5. MAINTENANCE
9 Jacks shall be maintained and repaired in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Such maintenance and repair shall be
carried out by qualied persons.
9 No modications shall be carried out which adversely affect the compliance of the jack with the standard.
9 Check the state of the markings and that the marking remain as the initial one.
IMPORTANT: Only fully competent personnel should attempt maintenance or repair.
NOTE: Use Sealey quality hydraulic jack oil, Model No.s HJO500MLS / HJO5LS to top up or replace the hydraulic uid.
IMPORTANT: Ensure waste oil is disposed of in accordance with local authority regulations.
5.1. When the jack is not in use, the ram must be in the lowest position to minimise ram and piston corrosion.
5.2. Keep the jack clean and lubricate all moving parts with acid free oil on a regular basis.
5.3. To check oil level, lower the jack fully. Remove the filler plug. The correct oil level should be to the same level as the filler opening.
5.4. After a year of extensive use, the oil should be replaced in order to extend the life of your jack. To drain the oil, remove the filler plug and
release valve. Make sure that no dirt is allowed to enter the oil reservoir.
5.5. Replace release valve and refill with fresh oil. Pump the unloaded jack 5 or 6 times to expel air. Check level as in 5.3. Refit filler plug.
5.6. Before each use check for broken, cracked, bent, or loose parts. Also check for any visible damage to welds, ram, pump, body, stand, and
all parts. If any suspect item is found remove the jack from service and take necessary action to remedy the problem.
8 DO NOT use the jack if it is believed to have been subjected to abnormal load or shock. Inspect and take appropriate action
5.7. Check the pump piston and piston periodically rod for signs of corrosion. Clean exposed areas with a clean oiled cloth.
IMPORTANT: NO RESPONSIBILITY IS ACCEPTED FOR INCORRECT USE OF THE JACK.
NOTE: Owing to their size and weight, hydraulic products should ideally be repaired by local service agents. we have service / repair
