•ext4—recommendedduetoitsresilienceagainstdatalossifthecardisejectedorifthereisabruptpowerloss.Toaccess
datastoredonthecardfromtheWindowsoperatingsystem,athird-partyext4driverorapplicationisrequired.
•vFAT—supportedbymostoperatingsystemsforpersonalcomputers.
TheSDcardismanagedontheSystemOptions>Storagepage.ClickSDCardtoopenStorageManagement.
Ifthecard’sstatusshowsasfailed,clickCheckdisktoseeiftheproblemcanbefoundandthentryRepair.Thisoptionisonly
availableforSDcardswithext4.ForSDcardswithvFAT,useacardreaderorcomputertotroubleshootthecard.
Toavoidllingthecard,itisrecommendedtoremoverecordingscontinuously.UnderGeneralSettings,selectRemoverecordings
olderthanandselectthenumberofdaysorweeks.
Tostopwritingtothecardandprotectrecordingsfrombeingremoved,selectLockunderGeneralSettings.

Topreventcorruptionofrecordings,theSDcardshouldalwaysbeunmountedbeforeitisejected.
TheSDcardisautomaticallymountedwhenthecardisinsertedintotheAxisproductorwhentheproductisstarted.Amanual
mountisonlyrequiredifthecardhasbeenunmountedandnotejectedandre-inserted.
TounmounttheSDcard:
1.OpentheAxisproduct’swebpagesandgotoSetup>SystemOptions>Storage.
2.ClickSDCard.
3.ClickUnmount.
4.Thecardcannowberemoved.

FormattingtheSDcardwillremovealldataandrecordingsstoredonthecard.
TheAxisproductcanbeconguredtoautomaticallyformatSDcardsthatareinsertedintotheproduct.Ifautoformatisenabledand
anSDcardisinserted,theproductwillcheckiftheSDcardhastheext4lesystem.Ifthecardhasadifferentlesystem,the
cardwillautomaticallybeformattedtoext4.

Ifautoformatisenabled,onlyuseneworemptySDcards.Anydatastoredonthecardwillbelostwhenthecardisinserted
intotheAxisproduct.
