System Options
Select Obtain host name via IPv4 DHCP to use host name provided b y the DHCP server running o n IPv4.
Select Use the host name to set the host name m anually.
Select Enable dynamic DNS updates to dynamically update local DNS servers w hene ver the Axis product’s IP address changes.

Link-Local IPv4 Address
Link-Local Address is enabled by default and assigns the Axis product an additional IP address whichcanbeusedtoaccess
the p roduct from other hosts on the same segment on the local network. The product can have a Link-Local IP and a static
or DHCP-supplied IP address at the sam e tim e .
This function can be disabled und er System Options > N etwork > TCP/IP > A dvanced.
HTTP
The H TTP port used by the Axis product can be changed under System Options > Network > TCP/IP > Advanced. In addition to the
default setting, which is 80, any port in the range 1024–65535 can be used.
HTTPS
The HTTPS port used by the Axis product can be changed under System Options > Network > TCP/IP > Advanced. In addition to
the default setting, which is 443, any port in the range 1024–65535 can be used.
To enable HTTPS, go to System Options > Security > HTTPS. For more inform a tion, see

NAT traversal (port mapping) for IPv4
A network router allows devices on a private network (LAN) to share a single connection to the Inte rnet. This is don e by for wa rding
network traffic from the private network to the “outside”, that is, the Internet. Security on the private network (LAN) is increased
since m ost routers are pre-configured to stop attempts to access the private network (LAN) from the public network (Internet).
Use NAT traversal when the Axis product is located on an intranet (LAN) and you wish to make it available from the other
(WAN) s ide of a NAT router. With NAT traversal properly c on figured, all HTTP traf fic to an external HTTP port in the NAT router
isforwardedtotheproduct.
NAT traversal is configured under System Options > Network > TCP/IP > A dvanced .
Note
• For NAT traversal to w ork, this must be suppor
ted by the router. The router must also supp ort UPnP
TM
.
• The router has many diffe re nt names: “NAT router”, “Network router”, “Internet Gateway”, ”Broadband router ”, “B roa dband
sharing device” or “Home firewall” but the essential purpose of the device is the same.
Enable/Disable - W hen enabled, the Axis product attempts to configure po rt mapping in a NAT router on your network, using UPnP
TM
.
Note that UP nP
TM
must be ena
bled in the product (see System Options > Network > UPnP).
Use man ually selected
NAT router - S elect this option to manually select a NAT router and enter the IP address for the rou ter in
the field. If no router is specified, the pro duct a utomatically searches for NAT routers o n your network. If more than one ro uter is
found, the default router is selected.
Alternative HTTP port - Select this option to manually define an external HTTP port. Enter the port num ber in the field. If no port is
entered he
re, a port numbe r is automa tically selected when NA T traversal is enabled.
