How to replace the Water Filter (optional)
NOTE: For better-tasting coffee, use a water filter.
1. Soak filter pod for 15 minutes in water.
2. Add pod to bottom of Water Filter and
snap on filter handle.
3. Place assembly into right side of
Water Reservoir.
Troubleshooting
Filter Basket overflows or coffee brews
slowly.
• The “BOLD” or 1–4 cup brew option
is recommended for brewing
decaffeinated coffee.
• Excessive amounts of coffee.
• Coffee ground too finely (not automatic
drip grind).
• Carafe not securely placed on Keep
Warm Plate or Filter Basket holder not
seated correctly.
• Carafe removed during brewing for
more than 20 seconds and not placed
securely back on Keep Warm Plate.
• Coffee Maker needs cleaning.
• Coffee grounds between paper filter
and Filter Basket.
• Paper filter not open and in proper
position.
• Rinse Filter Basket before inserting
paper filter so the edges will remain
pressed against the sides of the basket.
• Poor-quality paper filter.
Coffee not brewing/unit will not turn on.
• Water Reservoir is empty.
• Unit is unplugged.
• Power outage.
• Power surge. Unplug; then plug the unit
back in.
• Clock requires reset after power outage.
Limited Warranty
This warranty applies to products
purchased and used in the U.S. and
Canada. This is the only express warranty
for this product and is in lieu of any other
warranty or condition.
This product is warranted to be free from
defects in material and workmanship for
a period of five (5) years from the date of
original purchase in Canada and one (1)
year from the date of original purchase in
the U.S. During this period, your exclusive
remedy is repair or replacement of this
product or any component found to be
defective, at our option; however, you
are responsible for all costs associated
with returning the product to us and our
returning a product or component under
this warranty to you. If the product or
component is no longer available, we
will replace with a similar one of equal or
greater value.
This warranty does not cover glass,
filters, wear from normal use, use not in
conformity with the printed directions,
or damage to the product resulting
from accident, alteration, abuse, or
misuse. This warranty extends only to
the original consumer purchaser or gift
recipient. Keep the original sales receipt,
as proof of purchase is required to make
a warranty claim. This warranty is void if
the product is used for other than single-
family household use or subjected to
any voltage and waveform other than as
specified on the rating label (e.g., 120 V ~
60 Hz).
We exclude all claims for special,
incidental, and consequential damages
caused by breach of express or implied
warranty. All liability is limited to the
amount of the purchase price. Every
implied warranty, including any statutory
warranty or condition of merchantability
or fitness for a particular purpose,
is disclaimed except to the extent
prohibited by law, in which case such
warranty or condition is limited to

How to Make Coffee
Before first use: Wash all removable parts in hot, soapy water. Rinse and dry. Brew one
cycle with water and discard water.
w WARNING
Burn Hazard. If Filter Basket overflow occurs, unplug Coffee Maker and
allow coffee in Filter Basket to cool before removing Filter Basket. To avoid hot coffee
overflowing from the Filter Basket:
• The Carafe must be replaced within 20 seconds of being removed to prevent overflow.
• Do not exceed the coffee manufacturer’s recommended serving amount. See
“Troubleshooting.”
1. Lift Lid. Move Swivel Showerhead over
the Water Reservoir and remove Filter
Basket.
2. Place a cupcake-style paper filter in Filter
Basket. A Permanent Filter may also be
used.
3. For each cup of coffee being made, place
one level tablespoon (15 ml) of coffee
into filter.
4. Add Filter Basket and lower Lid. The
showerhead will go back into place
when you lower the Lid.
5. Fill Carafe with desired amount of water.
Add water to Water Reservoir.
6. Place Carafe, with carafe lid attached, on
Keep Warm Plate.
7. Plug into outlet.
8. Press BREW OPTIONS button until
desired option is selected: Regular, Bold,
or 1–4 Cups, if brewing a smaller amount
of coffee.
9. Press I/ (ON/OFF) button to start.
10. PAUSE AND SERVE: To serve coffee
during the brewing cycle, remove
Carafe and pour a cup. Do not pause
longer than 20 seconds. By removing
the Carafe, the flow of coffee from the
bottom of the Filter Basket will stop.
11. Press I/ (ON/OFF) button when
finished and unplug. NOTE: If the Coffee
Maker is not turned off manually, it will
automatically shut off in 2 hours.
How to Program
1. Press H (hour) and then M (minute) to
set clock.
2. While holding PROG (program) button,
press H and M until the desired brewing
start time is reached.
3. Press and release PROG button for less
than 1 second to set Coffee Maker to
come on automatically at the desired
time. Press PROG again to cancel
automatic brew.

This symbol alerts you to the potential danger for personal injury if you fail to read
and follow these safety precautions.
This symbol reminds you that glass is fragile and can break, which could result in
personal injury.
• Do not use a cracked Carafe or a Carafe
having a loose or weakened handle.
• This Carafe is designed to be used
only on the Keep-Warm Plate of your
Coffee Maker. Do not use on a gas or
electric rangetop, or in a microwave or
conventional oven.
• To avoid breakage, handle Carafe with
care. Avoid impact. Glass will break as
a result of impact. Use care when filling
with water to avoid hitting faucet.
• Do not place hot Carafe on cool or wet
surface. Allow to cool before washing or
adding liquids.
• Do not set empty Carafe on a hot
heating surface.
• Do not clean with steel wool pads,
abrasive cleanser, or any other materials
that may scratch.
• Do not place hands inside Carafe. When
handling, be careful if wearing any
hand jewelry, especially diamond rings.
Jewelry can scratch the glass, which
increases possibility of breakage.
• Do not bump, scratch, or boil dry.
• Discard Carafe if it is cracked, scratched,
or heated while empty for an extended
period of time.
• To avoid accidents, do not pour in the
direction of people.
• If stirring in the Carafe, use only
wooden, plastic, or rubber utensils. Do
not use metal utensils.
• Follow the above safety precautions
carefully to avoid serious burn injuries
which may result if breakage occurs
while Carafe holds heated liquids.
Care and Cleaning
w WARNING
Electrical Shock Hazard. Do not immerse cord, plug, or coffee maker in any
liquid.
To remove mineral deposits and buildup: All coffee makers should be cleaned at least
once a month (once a week for areas with hard water).
1. Unplug Coffee Maker, then wipe Coffee
Maker with a damp cloth or sponge. Dry.
2. Remove Water Filter and pod (see “How
to replace the Water Filter”).
3. Pour a minimum of 1 pint (2 cups/473 ml)
white vinegar into water reservoir.
4. Press the I/ (ON/OFF) button to begin
brew cycle. After 30 seconds, press
I/ again to pause brew cycle. Allow
vinegar solution to sit in unit for 30
minutes, then press I/ to restart.
Press I/ when finished, and allow
unit to cool.
5. Empty Carafe and rinse. Press BREW
STRENGTH and select REGULAR. Run
2–3 more brew cycles with clean water
only. Allow to cool between cycles.
6. The Carafe and Removable Filter Basket
are dishwasher-safe to wash and dry in
TOP RACK only. DO NOT use “SANI”
setting on dishwasher. “SANI” cycle
temperatures could damage your
product.

Préparation du café
Avant la première utilisation : Laver toutes les pièces amovibles dans de l’eau chaude
savonneuse. Rincer et sécher. Faire un cycle d’infusion avec de l’eau puis jeter l’eau.
w AVERTISSEMENT
Risque de brûlures. Si le panier-filtre déborde, débrancher la
cafetière et laisser refroidir le contenu du panier-filtre avant de retirer le panier-filtre.
Pour éviter le débordement de café chaud du panier-filtre :
• La verseuse doit être remise en place dans les 20 secondes après avoir été retirée afin
d’éviter le débordement.
• Ne pas dépasser la quantité de café recommandé par le fabricant. Voir le chapitre
« Dépannage ».
1. Soulever le couvercle. Déplacer le
diffuseur d’eau pivotant au-dessus du
réservoir d’eau et retirer le panier-filtre.
2. Placer un filtre à café de type « petit
gâteau » dans le panier-filtre. Un filtre
permanent peut aussi être utilisé.
3. Pour chaque tasse de café à préparer,
mettre une cuiller à soupe (15 ml) rase
de café dans le filtre.
4. Installer le panier-filtre et abaisser le
couvercle. Le diffuseur retourne à sa
place lorsque le couvercle est abaissé.
5. Remplir la verseuse avec la quantité
d’eau désirée. Verser l’eau dans le
réservoir d’eau.
6. Placer la verseuse munie de son
couvercle sur la plaque chauffante.
7. Brancher dans la prise de courant.
8. Appuyer sur le bouton BREW OPTIONS
(options d’infusion) pour obtenir l’option
désirée : Regular (régulier), Bold (corsé)
ou 1–4 Cups (1 à 4 tasses), pour infuser
une plus petite quantité de café.
9. Appuyer sur le bouton I/ (marche/arrêt)
pour démarrer le cycle d’infusion.
10. PAUSE ET SERVICE : Pour servir le
café pendant le cycle d’infusion, retirer
la verseuse et verser le café dans une
tasse. Éviter les pauses de plus de
20 secondes. Le retrait de la verseuse
permet l’interruption du débit de café
provenant du fond du panier-filtre.
11. Appuyer sur le bouton I/ (marche/
arrêt) dès la fin du cycle et débrancher.
REMARQUE : Si la cafetière ne s’éteint
pas manuellement, elle s’éteindra
automatiquement dans 2 heures.
Programmation
1. Appuyer sur H (heure) et ensuite sur
M (minute) pour régler la minuterie.
2. Tenir le bouton PROG (programme) et
appuyer sur les boutons H et M pour régler
l’heure de mise en marche.
3. Appuyer et relâcher le bouton PROG
en moins d’une seconde pour activer la
mise en marche automatique à l’heure
désirée. Appuyer de nouveau sur le
bouton PROG pour annuler l’infusion
automatique.
