1. SAFETY
WARNING! Ensure Health & Safety, local authority, and general workshop practice regulations are adhered to when using this equipment.
WARNING! Disconnect the equipment from the air supply before changing accessories, servicing or performing any maintenance.
9 Keep the equipment clean and maintain it in good condition (use an authorised service agent).
9 Replace or repair damaged parts. Use genuine parts only. Unauthorised parts may be dangerous and will invalidate the warranty.
WARNING! Ensure that the correct air pressure is maintained and not exceeded.
9 Keep air hose away from heat, oil and sharp edges. Check air hoses for wear before each use and ensure that all connections are
secure.
8 DO NOT install in direct sunlight or near any other heat source.
8 DO NOT direct air from the air hose at yourself, others or animals.
9 Drain the air tank daily. Water in the air line will damage equipment.
9 When work is complete ensure that the air supply is turned off.
9 If in any doubt about correct installation of this equipment consult a competent engineer.
2. INTRODUCTION
Suitable for most workshop air supply set-ups. Die-cast control heads with clear polycarbonate bowls. Regulator assembly features
lockingcontrolknobforpresettingairpressureandlarge,easy-to-readpressuregauge.Filteristtedwithautomaticdraintap.
Lubricator includes oil/air mix control and sight glass. Supplied with wall bracket.

4. INSTALLATION
4.1. Alwaysensurethatcomponentsareinstalledintheairlineinthecorrectowdirection.Theowdirectioniscastintothetopcasingof
each unit.
4.2. Installthelter(ifseparate)upstreamfromtheregulatorandthelubricatordownstreamfromit.
4.3. TomounttheSA4001,xthemountingbracket(g.1.9)attherearoftheunittothewall.
4.4. TomounttheSA4001FRlterregulatorandSA4001Rregulatorxthemountingbracketprovidedtothewall.Removethemounting
bezel(g.1.8)fromtheneck.Placetheneckthroughthemountingbracketandreplacethebezeltoclampthemountingbracket.
4.5. Toinstallthepressuregauge(g.1.2.),removetheblankingplugandscrewinthegauge.PTFEtapemayberequiredtoachievea
good seal.

5. OPERATION
5.1. REGULATOR
5.2. Theoutputpressureiscontrolledbythepressureadjustmentknob(fig.1.1).Beforepressurisingairsystemforthefirsttime
lift and rotate knob anticlockwise to remove any loading on the regulator spring. Pressurise the system and then rotate knob clockwise
to set the required output pressure, as shown on gauge (fig.1.2). When the required pressure is achieved lock knob by pushing down.
Note:Forcorrectpressuresettingalwaysadjustupwardsfromalowerpressure.Thereforetoresetfrom90to70psi,forexample,
reducepressurefrom90to60psiandthenincreasefrom60to70psi.
5.2. FILTER
Thebowlwilldrainautomaticallyeachtimethesystempressuredropstozero.However;ifthefluidlevelreachesthemaximum
mark but the system is to remain pressurised the bowl can be manually drained by pushing the filter drain (fig.1.3) upward.
Note: the drain is designed to take a flexible tube so that the waste fluid can be piped away.
5.3. LUBRICATOR
Removefillerplug(fig.1.5)andfillbowlwithairtooloil.Thiscanbedonewithairlinepressurised.
Withairflowingthroughthelubricatortheoildeliveryratecanbeadjustedbymeansoftheoilfeedadjustment(fig.1.7)whilstwatching
thefeedratethroughthesightglass(fig.1.6).Theoildeliveryratewillbeincreasedordecreasedautomaticallyinlinewiththeairflow.

ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION
Recycle unwanted materials instead of disposing of them as waste. All tools, accessories and packaging should be sorted,
taken to a recycling centre and disposed of in a manner which is compatible with the environment. When the product
becomes completely unserviceable and requires disposal, drain any fluids (if applicable) into approved containers and
dispose of the product and fluids according to local regulations.
